I don't really agree with Maher. I think Bill Burr mocked the problem beautifully in one of his specials, that guys in their 'guy groups' become ridiculous with dick envying, and if you do something thoughtful or slightly emotional, they rush with their "What a fag!!!". I am a guy who happens to be an artist and I express a lot of my thoughts, ideas and emotions in my prose, paintings and music. So I myself and people who know me, know that it's not that black and white, because although I am not scared of my emotional sensitive side, I am quite an alpha male in confrontations :) I mean, I do my best to keep cool, but when I am pushed, the caveman DNA takes over my brain and I bit the shit out of people. We now know that men and women's brains are different which is why women tent to do better at verbal tasks while men often do better at visual spatial reasoning and mathematics. But that being said, there is always some variation or exceptions, so the women's point that she enjoys sports and her husband is more feminine is asinine.
