My Bernina has a built-in hole in the stitch plate for just that! I have a regular stitch plate (for zigzaging) and a small hole stitch plate for straight line sewing only.
Hello. Thank-you for your tutorial it was very helpful. After watching your video, I went on a search for a cording guide plate cover for my brother. Do you have any info were I could purchase this guide plate? Thank-you, again!
Lovely tutorial. I have these foots but do not have the special bobbin cover. How do I use the foots. Please your advise is strongly needed and would be appreciated.
The special cover plate makes it much easier to do; however, it is not mandatory. It does take a little practice though when you don't have the cover plate. Position your fabric under the foot and then bring your cord underneath. Once you have it lined up and in the groove, you can start sewing. Without the plate, I suggest sewing slower and feel the edge of the cording as you sew, making sure it doesn't come out of the groove. We have another video that shows what I mean. It's at timestamp 2:26. ua-cam.com/video/_rfNRjEZFsg/v-deo.html I hope that this helps.
I love this video. Very informative. I have a question though...what tension did you use on your machine? I'm doing everything in the video but not getting those lovely tucks...mines look like two lines but not the raised tucks
This is an older video, so we no longer use that particular machine. I'm not certain of the tension on that machine; however, I recently did another pintuck video. In that one, I bumped my tension to 7 and increased my stitch length to 3. Since every machine is a little different, I suggest testing on scraps. Have fun!
Natalie Ramirez Hi! Traditional pin tucks are tiny folds. Adding cording is just a fun way to mix things up, though I can see what you mean, in that the fabric isn't really "folded" anymore.
Thank you for the video! Just one more help - if I don't want to use the cording and by using the twin needle and a pin tuck foot - what should be the tension on the machine? I've tried everything but I don't get that grooves and that mountain effect !!
When I'm not using cording - why are my tucks uneven when I keep the previous one in the groove. I don't understand how that's possible but they are not the same distance apart.
Do you have to use cording? It doesn't look like you did on the second example with the different sized grooves, but I can't get my head around how it works without the cording.
I have a Singer Stylist Touch Model 9985 and can't locate a cording guide plate cover for it. How can I make do without it? BTW, I really love your videos!
Hi, Caroline! Thank you so much for watching our videos! I've asked our product specialist team to try to find a cording plate for you. I should have an answer by the end of the day. Thank you for your patience!
Unfortunately, we can't find any compatible plates either. You could try to modify a spare bobbin plate cover to make a hole and cut out. You'd have to be pretty handy with a drill bit. I've tried it before, but I didn't have a small enough drill bit. Or really know what I was doing =D
You are absolutely perfect! The video filming is perfect, the instructions are perfect, your presentation is perfect. Thank you.
All of your tutorials are very useful especially when it's been years since I have been sewing. Refreshed my memory.
I never knew how certain shirts had this design. Now I know how to make the design for my garments.
That was very useful, thank you. I always wondered what that little hole in the bobbin cover was for!
I used a 2.0/80 - If you go to our site and type 705HT in the search box, the needle I used pops up. Love Schmetz needles!

I have an early 1950s treadle machine and a pintuck foot with 6 grooves. Never even knew there were double thread needles, are these mandatory?
Hi.Can I use a twin needle on my machione? Thanks for your reply Thanks for this heavenly video.
Hi, I am using brother LX27NT. For nice and embossed pun tucks, can you please mention the settings,? If you don't mind, please? :)
That is real good to know 👌🏼💕 So, I cannot think of anything beyond the “formal crease” in dress pants to use this Pintuck stitch for. Ideas??
I can think of two ways to use pintucks: 1. On the front of a blouse. 2. Heirloom sewing (see Martha Pullen videos on pintucking).

Hi! I have the Singer fashionista s800 and I need ordered the twin needle, but how can I know what size is for her? Thank you so much!!
Can i use the single needle machine to make my pintucks?
Awesome!! I didn't know about the cording trick. What size twin needle did you use? Thanks for the lesson.
Wait, I didn't think tucks had cording. Is this different that the pin tucks where you fold the fabric?

Sewing Parts Online Didn't know that. A problem with old knowledge and new technology!

To get the mountain effect, increase your tension a number or two. Good luck!
What kind of material is the shirt you are wearing with the pintucks?

Mam I have Usha Janome Allure Machine please tell me for satin stitch foot what use selector, Length, n Tension

CezzaXV Hi! You don't have to use cording, but the cording gives the pintucks more definition.

ma'am does this foot work on traditional domestic machine???
Hi! Yes, it just depends on the machine. What is the make and model of your sewing machine?
Can't see.. What your doing
