Lol, its always an option but I don't live dangerously. I don't think the prison life is for me, I'd get it in the ass every night (not because I'm good looking, but because of my nice juicy ass)
Clous von i can just imagine the cool laid back seating position you have... That guy probably drives on track too, and that's the seating oosition you have.
Khu NoPie not really, since the airbag wouldn't even deploy, because he can actually react quick enough to a new situation without causing an accident while failing to get up from the napping position and trying to set his fries into the cup holder. the way most americans drive. that's why you have so many deadly accidents without actually driving fast.
Sandouras "some cases" Depends on what you like. It doesn't look like the wheel is as close in the driving shots as the side shot when he's talking inside the car. Your comment was more towards it being uncool tho to have the steering wheel that close.
hahah..i thought so aswell....thats too close..in an unfortunate incident of airbags opening up, he would be hit in face with an impact which could change the shape of his nose :P
hahah..i thought so aswell....thats too close..in an unfortunate incident of airbags opening up, he would be hit in face with an impact which could change the shape of his nose :P
LOL, had to reply to this (I know its 8 months ago!), but yeah!, what would that even do?!, i guarantee he kept all of the buttons turned on when handed the car back, hazard lights, full beams...the lot! :-)
Kaisuke971 Are you kidding me? The excessive hand gestures, the "grandma" driving position, "isix" seat, "Efflessly", "Efflessly", Tesla Model eSk? Wtf?
SaLad G It's official classification is a full size luxury saloon, a sporty one at that, which is strange, because the Aston Rapide is classed as a 4 door sports car
nah, i would still pick A7, even the current one, not including next year one(which will be even better). I didn't check if audi is cheaper than porsche tho. A7 looks better to me.
James Batchelor, I am really impressed with how quickly you replied. It is, of course an improbably good car. All Porsches are. They defy normal rules by being 10% lighter and 10% more roomy than its competitors.
£113k for a Panamera diesel?? In about a years time we will be seeing the new CLS63 and new RS7 which will both be priced from £90k and have just as nice interiors but with 600+ bhp. Porsche really know how to fuck you on optional extras.
UzzyFuzzyy not the current rs7, i meant the new 2018 model which will fall in line with the design cues from the new Q7/A4 etc. Spec yourself a porsche panamera, it literally has fuck all as standard and they never have decent option packages, its so not worth buying new
Kudos for Porsche's effort to have RHD user interface for the sat-nav, etc. In many cars you ask yourself why are the buttons so far away, until you realize, you just sit "on the wrong" side from a developper perspective. Sure it's easy to do on a touch-screen, but still deserves appreciation.
I could never quite put my finger on what James reminds me of, until now. For some reason, he reminds me of Sergio Perez. Although I doubt he's as fast as him.
More or less, yes. The design of the diesel engine makes it so that they are incredibly torque-y from very low rpm's but they don't rev very high. Most diesel engines redline at or before 5000 rpm. There's a reason a lot of American heavy duty pick up trucks, and most semi trucks and busses are diesels.
Modern tubocharged petrol engines have peak torque available from lower rpm than most turbodiesels. But this diesel not only has 2 turbos but also 1 electric compressor! That's why it has so much torque at so low rpm. This 4.0 V8 TDI is capable of 900Nm of torque, whereas newest 4.0 V8 petrol engine from AMG delivers 850Nm, but significantly more horsepower. Not to mention insane sound of the petrol V8 :-)
When getting the correct driving position, lean back so that shoulders touches seat. Then hold your arms straight forward, and your wrists should be on top of stearing wheel. Nice review of a great looking Porsche :)
Batch, you'll get "thumbs up" this time. It was a good, factual and informative review. For its class and claim I like the new Panamera quite well, but in my (own old) Porsche world - still - 4 doors, Diesel and 2tons won't fit a Porsche badge.
Hi BBD Smint, my original comment on the costs of running a Panamera, were made in response to James's remark that the running costs of a Panamera were similar to those of a medium priced family car. He readily admitted that this was whimsical. Of course the Panamera is a better proposition than other cars of a similar price. Every Porsche is. However working for 30 years in the Motor Industry Informs me that medium priced family cars are different to supercars. Will you allow me that?
it would have been nice if they added a picture of the normal and the executive model, just to get a look at the difference in shape after increasing the wheel base.
Mikael Soltaniha As much as I would like it to, I don't think so. This is mainly because this interior is too, perhaps, luxurious, and the 911 is the king of sports, and this interior doesn't really fit a 911, but maybe the bigger screen and the touch buttons will be there, in a different look.
It's a cool concept but it is rather unnecessary. I would imagine that it won't be a good feeling when one of the electric motors fails, although it is a Porsche, so it's not likely to happen.
Okay, three things to say... first of all, thx to the review, I was able to convince my father to change his Mercedes-Benz S 400 4MATIC Long (V222) into the new car: Porsche Panamera 4S (971). We just ordered it in Korea, and hopefully it will arrive shortly/soon. Secondly, it is not a hatchback but a fastback. I mean, have you ever seen a 5 metres long hatchback before? lol I don't think so. Lastly, the engined fitted in the base model is a single turbocharged 3 litre V6 petrol engine that is found in Audi models such as Audi S4 (B9) and Audi A8 3.0 TFSI Quattro (D5), and not a twin turbocharged 2.9 litre V6 petrol engine with a different setting that is found in Audi models such as Audi RS 4 Avant (B9) or the Audi RS 5 Coupé for example.
This is my dream car. Ideally I want 4 door sports luxury but this is way out of budget.. any recommendations? I was thinking an old Maserati quattraporte or e500
The base Panamera has a 3.0 turbo V6, not a 2.9 turbo V6. That only comes in the S and is also shared with the Audi Rs5, while the 3.0 in the base Panamera is shared with Audi's S4 and S5.
5:10 Really Porsche? On such an expensive car, you don't include buttons in the trunk to drop the seats down, you still have to climb through the back doors? Or even just a manual latch that you can find in ANY estate/station car?
Good review. You sound and construct sentences like Quentin Wilson. It would be great to see rear space with front seats in a normal driving position though.
I think I know which is my dream car... It has style it is streamlined, practical (I appreciate the hatchback and high ground clearance), agile, well balanced, good quality. Unfortunately all these come at a price.
A car that is marketed for the masses. Back seat, automatic, trunk. Yes a 4 door station wagon with a porsche badge. If you need something a little higher there is always the front wheel drive bmw suv.

This percentage residual is better than most similar cars and far better than say a top spec Range Rover. I certainlly would not disrespect your choice of what is clearly a brilliant car.
I love looking at cars I can't ever afford, it gives you motivation to hustle in life haha
Lol, its always an option but I don't live dangerously. I don't think the prison life is for me, I'd get it in the ass every night (not because I'm good looking, but because of my nice juicy ass)
same
Well i m going to college while i m at college ill buy 50 plants and you can guess
Fry Wolf LOL gay
Yes indeed 😁😁
he's got the same seating position as my grandma
Clous von i can just imagine the cool laid back seating position you have...
That guy probably drives on track too, and that's the seating oosition you have.
Clous von probably has a sore bumhole.
That's the "killed by the air-bag" position
Khu NoPie not really, since the airbag wouldn't even deploy, because he can actually react quick enough to a new situation without causing an accident while failing to get up from the napping position and trying to set his fries into the cup holder. the way most americans drive.
that's why you have so many deadly accidents without actually driving fast.
Seized Cheese, :))))))) just imagined the guy spewing the fries out of his full mouth with disbelief when realizing the danger
Even my grandma sits farther away from the steering wheel. Jesus christ.
Sandouras I agree. He is sitting so close.
Having the steering wheel closer tho is better in some cases. Race car drivers often have their wheel mounted pretty close.
Kristian Hagene Racecars are nothing like normal cars and circuits are nothing like normal roads.
Sandouras "some cases"
Depends on what you like. It doesn't look like the wheel is as close in the driving shots as the side shot when he's talking inside the car.
Your comment was more towards it being uncool tho to have the steering wheel that close.
Sandouras if that airbag goes off he's getting knocked the fuck out
I think they have perfected the swooping roof line now it looks great
James Batchelor i
3:56 heated and cooled seat at the same time... some man just want to watch the world burn
Didn't know you could active both at same time
his seat is so close to the steering wheel he almost needs a car seat
Your face is gonna get blown off if you get in an accident sitting that close to the airbag
LOL - ingenious reply
god damn dude. DONT SIT SO FUCKING CLOSE TO THE WHEEL
hahah..i thought so aswell....thats too close..in an unfortunate incident of airbags opening up, he would be hit in face with an impact which could change the shape of his nose :P
hahah..i thought so aswell....thats too close..in an unfortunate incident of airbags opening up, he would be hit in face with an impact which could change the shape of his nose :P
The fact you put on the heated and cooling seats at the same time and didn't turn them off is really bugging me. . .haha
LOL, had to reply to this (I know its 8 months ago!), but yeah!, what would that even do?!, i guarantee he kept all of the buttons turned on when handed the car back, hazard lights, full beams...the lot! :-)
Ha why does this guy sit so god damn upright!
Red Phoenix 😂😂🤣😂
This guys reviews are growing on me
He was always pretty good, it's just that people are obnoxious and can't get over the fact that it's not matt.
Kaisuke971 Are you kidding me? The excessive hand gestures, the "grandma" driving position, "isix" seat, "Efflessly", "Efflessly", Tesla Model eSk?
Wtf?
that car is effing sick
dna598 ... probably more expensive than my house
they SO got it right this time
+dna598
Not everybody can be Perfect like You
😀😀😀😀😕😕😕😉😉
especially in white. lawd
I like this reviewer, he does the job well. Everyone else still seems to be bitchcing about Matt leaving get over it it's been ages now.
Was it really necessary to include hatchback in the title?
SaLad G yes to differentiate it from the upcoming station wagon variant
thomas rollfing oh i didn't know there would be a wagon
SaLad G
It's official classification is a full size luxury saloon, a sporty one at that, which is strange, because the Aston Rapide is classed as a 4 door sports car
SaLad G well, actually Porsche has shown pictures of a (very nice) shooting brake model....
So a coupé?
Another top review from Jim
mJames Batchelor
Ignore the haters, it was a good review. Anyone paying attention to the content, and what you were saying, would realise this
They've really got the Panamera's design right this time around, didn't like the first one but I love this one. The rear's just so much better!
this car is absolutely a beauty
Looks soooo nice, i would definitely choose this over the RS7 now
Dezz9820 wait till the new A7 comes out late 2017 Will be über futuristic
Robitussin Ethanol I highly doubt it could keep up with Porsche
Marius Ipad you cant say that since BG and Lamb dont do sedans....
Marius Ipad that's...what??
nah, i would still pick A7, even the current one, not including next year one(which will be even better). I didn't check if audi is cheaper than porsche tho. A7 looks better to me.
FINALLY a car, where the rear-seat passengers can see where they are actually going - via the navi screen on the rear middle console display! GREAT!
like the looks of this new porsche. It really is a well rounded every day sports car
James Batchelor, I am really impressed with how quickly you replied. It is, of course an improbably good car. All Porsches are. They defy normal rules by being 10% lighter and 10% more roomy than its competitors.
You're the first one I haven't heard complain about having to control the central air vent through the infotainment system.
Nice review!
Finally!!! I was waiting for this review for so long
why?
£113k for a Panamera diesel?? In about a years time we will be seeing the new CLS63 and new RS7 which will both be priced from £90k and have just as nice interiors but with 600+ bhp. Porsche really know how to fuck you on optional extras.

DuDe1040 you talking to me bitch?
Komor Uddin so hard...
UzzyFuzzyy lol maybe it takes him 15 minutes to cycle there? He literally just copied what i said but minused 5 mins lol
Probably does not even jave drivers licence, just day dreaming about driving german cars lmao
If you want more boot space, get the Sport Turismo.
I am in love. It's just right for me. The looks, the interior, the quality, the technology...
i always love the 911 design, even when it stretched.
Henry Rahardja same I have a 2016 911
Kudos for Porsche's effort to have RHD user interface for the sat-nav, etc. In many cars you ask yourself why are the buttons so far away, until you realize, you just sit "on the wrong" side from a developper perspective. Sure it's easy to do on a touch-screen, but still deserves appreciation.
No insulting comments? Nice. ^^
your mom gae
dschonsie
there is always insulting comments we live with many dirty peoples in the eart 😒😒
I could never quite put my finger on what James reminds me of, until now. For some reason, he reminds me of Sergio Perez.
Although I doubt he's as fast as him.
I thought the old one was a moose, but they've hit the nail on the head with this baby - what a car. Lucky lad to get a go with this James.
Full torque from 1000 rpm, that's pretty impressive! Are all diesel cars like this ? Forgive my ignorance.
Bailey Smith very cool! thanks
+Bailey Smith
Diesel Engines Win 24 hours of Le Mans...So what,s Wrong ...😕😕😉☺
I love diesels, but they don't sound very good at idle...
Hell, even the revving sounds decent.
The fact that the 21" wheels look like 19" kinda shows how big the car is
My first purchase this car...... I'm very happy this purchase
James .... your presenting is "nothing short of remarkable"
I LOVE the interior of this car the screen and the button look lovely and modern can definitely tell this is VW/Audi family, great review James!
Thanks for a good review.
Thanks for specifying it's the hatchback if it even is one, now I won't confuse it with the pickup version.
I stand corrected
I prefer the hatchback to the station wagon.
James you're fantastic!
I am who I am hi is gaya so are u!!!
Walter 777 and your old fart father too;)
I am who I am ( WTF )
If they were to release the sport turismo that would be my pick because I need a way bigger boot than that
Sweet review man, I've grown to like your review style, cant wait for more!
I absolutely love your attitude and your use of words! I really enjoy watching your car reviews. Keep up the good work.
Why do i torture myself by watching reviews of cars i cant realistically afford?!
someday
When getting the correct driving position, lean back so that shoulders touches seat. Then hold your arms straight forward, and your wrists should be on top of stearing wheel. Nice review of a great looking Porsche :)

Great review !
Awesome review, happy holidays.
I gotta say James, you got much, much better. Great review of even greater car (that I will never own since it costs almost as my apartment).
wish you guys would provide performance numbers. I don't even think you said the torque on the diesel
Hi BBD Smint, my original comment on the costs of running a Panamera, were made in response to James's remark that the running costs of a Panamera were similar to those of a medium priced family car. The new looks and that colour work really well! Oh and James stop reading the bottom half of the Internet! UA-cam comments can be a horrible place!
I love this car, buying this car in the future
Quentin Willson looking incredible for his age there ...nothing short of remarkable!
James Batchelor You do a fine job reviewing cars don't sweat the small stuff
Some great color grading you did on this video.
Looks a mix of different Porsche and so many different angles! not sure about the exterior but interior is hot
Could the interior be a hint for the next generation 911? ;)
Don't know much about the 911, but you can look forward to this being a hint at the next gen cayenne.
You didn't mention the awesome air vents that open and close :(
It's a cool concept but it is rather unnecessary. I would imagine that it won't be a good feeling when one of the electric motors fails, although it is a Porsche, so it's not likely to happen.
Seems like this feature passed on from the Phaeton
Concise review, with everything you need, and nothing you don't. 👍

The excellence has arrived
I was away when this channel had 40k subs, came back and... boom. 405k
Im still not used to hear Porsche diesel....just doesnt sound right... btw so this guy took Mats place...
Apres Midi well mat left, so he came in. He's good, gives all the info without being boring
They are bringing out a new model that runs on chip fat. That'll take even more getting used to.
Apres Midi
Apres Midi mat has a new channel called carwow
haha my back hurts from only seeing you in this driving position
Great review thanks. Quality picture resolution.
The first gen was much more banging at the time than this one.
how is the night vision a 'good' safety feature if you need to look away from the road and down to the screen?
i liked the normal buttons on the center console on the older model more.
Also why is the panamera S a v6 :(
What the name of this color of the Porsche ?
what camera is using to make this vid? i really love how the color/tone brings kind of gloomy mood in this vid
Nice review! Subscribed! Do all the new Porsche's !
Subscribed, great review and pronunciation :)
Is the infotainment screen only touch?
This is my dream car. Ideally I want 4 door sports luxury but this is way out of budget.. any recommendations? I was thinking an old Maserati quattraporte or e500

What camera did you use for this video? It looks sick!
I would call this car more luxurious than sporty I mean come on look how practical and high-tech this car is.
interior looks fantastic, after a couple of years those gadgets are known to have issues..
3:57 wait, you can heat and cool the seats at the same time??
Vs Bentley Continental GT? Please do a comparison
The front looks like a corvette, and the back a 911. Wow, these two names are 2 Americans things that will never be forgotten
Hearing fellow British accents on UA-cam is so refreshing
Good review. You sound and construct sentences like Quentin Wilson. It would be great to see rear space with front seats in a normal driving position though.
I really want this because it’s the power of a Nissan GT-R with luxury of Porsche it literally incredible
How can you sit so close to the steering wheel?
Mat should do all reviews
Love his accent ❤️
I got the BMW M Town ad, that was better than the review itself
Quinton Wilson is aging well :-)
This is deffo my dream car by miles
A remarkable review
I think I know which is my dream car... It has style it is streamlined, practical (I appreciate the hatchback and high ground clearance), agile, well balanced, good quality. Unfortunately all these come at a price.
Nice presentation about a handsome legend..
Stunning, stunning car.
A car that is marketed for the masses. Back seat, automatic, trunk. Yes a 4 door station wagon with a porsche badge. If you need something a little higher there is always the front wheel drive bmw suv.
Hi Andrew Rossiter.... of course you don't agree.. if you regard £10K depreciation fine, on a second hand car which cost considerably less than £113K, then that is fine. A two year old Panamera costing £113K will have a trade value of £72K after 2 years, hence my comment. This percentage residual is better than most similar cars and far better than say a top spec Range Rover. I certainlly would not disrespect your choice of what is clearly a brilliant car.
Yep, finally the Panamera is looking good.
Is it a hatchback ?? or sedan ?
Yathu prem hatchback. Mate
Saloons the trunk glass stays down when opened
haidar hamdard thanks.. that's a new info..
Yathu prem Fastback
