I purchased my Yamaha SX230HO new in 2008 for $32k. Only mechanical issue I had was a small rock got stuck in the impeller. Took it to a mechanic had the rock removed no damage oil and spark plugs changed (plugs 2x a year) under $300 dollars. I now change my oil and plugs myself. Plugs are about $8 each (8 needed). I love my Yamaha!
I'm hoping to find one of those. I have a Yamaha FX Cruiser HO -05 with the same engine with 460 trouble free hours. Very hard to come by in Sweden as they are only sold in the US. Yesterday a non-HO SX230 from 2004 came up for 30k dollars, zero value lost and 17 years old!

Haha if that's not a solid reason to buy one I don't know what is.
Easier maintenance as well. Saves time and money.
