Could there be a more long term NFC North identity week of football? The Vikings lose to a worse team with a better coach and also lose their most important player, then the Packers need a last second field goal to beat one of the worst teams in the NFL, then the Bears lose to a better team with a better coach on a freak play where one of their arrogant players is doing something stupid. Granted, I think the Lions game was played in an alternate universe, but otherwise…..
I will say, depending on how the rest of this season goes. That determines if KOC and Kwesi will be back. Like Judd said KOC has got to prove he can coach. On another note if you look at all the offspring of the fruit of Shanahan, KOC is probably the least impressive of them.
A lot will depend when Cashmann comes back. He is an important part of this defense. And Addison - get him the ball every once in a while, but it must be clear to him, that he is No 2. But I guess with Darrisaw out the question will be - how fast can Darnold get rid of the ball.
We keep saying how the Lions exposed us, when we literally played them completely even, and were a first down away from winning, or 5-10 yards from a game winning field goal. That game doesn’t indicate that Detroit is way better than us
@@jaredpribyl Tampa Bay! week 2 when the team had not gelled yet! Lucky just like the Vikings to catch teams early before they gelled. This is the beginning of the downfall of the Vikings! If the Vikings need the last game to make the playoffs in Ford Field , The Lions will embarrass the hell out of them!
since the muffed Nayler punt return in Green Bay...the Vikings have looked prdestrian! It's like KOC gave up on play calling and Flores played into the strengths of the opposing offenses! Question: Are the Vikings diliberately not going balls out (not showing their hands) so teams don't have tape on them...Thus saving it for the 2nd half of the season...to make a run?
I saw a tweet recently that said the first 15 scripted plays the Vikings are the top team in the NFL and once that's over they are one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Really surprised Purple Daily, which is usually on top of all the most important Vikings issues, is not addressing the most urgent and important issue facing the team. Our secondary is old and slow. Gilmore, Griffin and Harry...all great players but past their prime and cannot keep up with young receivers. They are forced to play Cover 2 constantly and can't stay with receivers in man. A new defensive tackle will not address this. This is the most glaring hole on our team.
I still point to KOC and not situationally calling plays correctly to the personnel strengths he has (e.g. Darnold fixating on the one hot route receiver for the play KOC called). If our offense can at least get back to some sense of consistency in moving the ball, our defense doesn't get so much pressure put on it. On defense, if B Flo is giving the same looks and options within those looks with personnel, sure, the tape will show those tendencies. Change it up, and personnel, in addition to strong and weak side swaps, and that will bring some mystery back.
Like Thor said they’re more than just a DT away . Plus these guys host an annual draft party every year. How are you going to have a draft party with no draft picks.
Dex I'm still in on buying by the trade dead line. Go after a good established younger DT with a multi year contract. I'm not that hung up on keeping their first round picks. If they can get an established player that they know is good. I'd rather do that then end up with another Cine, Turner, etc. If they are going to trade, it has to be someone they will have for a few years. Not just someone for the rest of this season. And I'm getting more and more willing to go ahead and trade Addison. Between his off field issues, pre-snap penalties , running the wrong routes and now his social media post. His diva starting to come out. Get rid of him now and get something for him.
This team needs to get this O Line solidified before McCarthy gets in so far their answers to fix the O Line have been "we need a HOF caliber RB to run the ball, a mobile QB and HOF WR to throw the ball. These are NOT answers these are band-aids this is smoke and mirrors folks same with the interior D Line all these blitzes are band-aids for not having a real answer at DT trust me the Lions are good because they have had a great O Line and the best pass rush in the league. You cannot out play a bad line ask the Bengals
It would be malpractice if they didn't buy at the deadline. You have 5 wins, if you beat the colts you HAVE to go get Simmons or Lawrence if you can swing it and probably DJ Reed as well. Those moves fill massive holes and Gove you multiple years of team control so even if this year doesn't pan out you have next year when Darrisaw comes back to build off of along with more cap space. Kwesi hasn't shown himself to be a strong drafter so 1sts mean nothing to me. The Lions aren't that much better than you especially if you make a trade for Simmons/Lawrence and/or Reed
Exactly, we are trying to stack the team for this Super Bowl window with JJ’s rookie contract. This should be an obvious move, if teams are willing to give us Simmons, Lawrence, or Q Williams. Or a pro bowl corner
I'm still in on going all in on a Dexter type player. reason we are getting The Hawk back and even with Darrisaw gone I dont feel we are cooked or a .500 going forward. Also if you get Dexter you have him moving forward with great cap space moving forward. I'm not sold on Lions being the top team we went toe to toe and could of won that game. The big problem with the Lions is the Campbell affect. You saw it going for it early on 4th down deep in their own territory. The Lions are one and done team in the playoffs because of the Campbell affect. Which makes me want even more to shore up our Defense.
I sure hope that they at least give questenberry a try at left tack. Every time he's played he's played reasonably well and Blake brandell is pretty solid at his current position. Swap out Ingram for risner and run more 12 personnel with Josh Oliver helping out DQ and it shouldn't be that massive of an impact.

Trading a first-round pick for a known commodity makes a whole lot of sense!
The Vikings defense is the issue and mainly the defensive line Florez needs to figure out a way to change things up pressure with the front 4 because teams attack the middle whenever we send backers on a blitz. We need some real BEEF on the D line.

@@jaredpribyl Detroit will beat them without Hutch! They are more complete team.
Yeah you can't really look at the record until you look at the context. The Packers have mostly played bottom tier defenses.
Darrisaw has missed a lot of games.
What's the win-loss record for those games, Dex?
Is there anything better than an OctoBox in October???? I think not
A lot will depend when Cashmann comes back.
That game doesn’t indicate that Detroit is way better than us
That game proved the Vikings are legit contenders. That was after already beating the 49ers, Texans, and Packers.
That game proved Detroit is mentally stronger! Situationally you should have won.
@@DerrickBrown-ji4bk I guess Tampa Bay is mentally stronger than Detroit then? Squeaking out one close game doesn’t prove a team is better.
@@jaredpribyl yep...tampa is mentally stronger than detroit....he also admitted the vikings should have won
How much control does Sam Darnold have at the line when checking into different plays?

In no world am I trading addison. With all the weapons we have and using JJ to get addison open. He needs more targets. Hes proven himself
If this team doesn't trade for help, it will self destruct it's as simple as that. Sam will get worse and the offense will grow hostile
Sometimes you have horrible games, J Winston led the browns to beat the Ravens, Winston. You know the guy that eats crab and finger W’s
What "award" did the "locally based"law firm win? Who awarded it? What was it for ?Locally based? Their office is in Wisconsin, where there are more billboards than in Minnesota.
Guys best team thru Oct of 2024 things change what happen if goff goes out for the season like cousins did things change week to week look at the ravens yesterday
Well, I would challenge the thought process that you were afraid to trade your first round pick. We've had four first round picks, one was a complete bust, one's doing pretty well, Dallas Turner's off to a slow start but certainly not giving up on him and the quarterback is out for the year.
Herbert did this to us last year, and it was B-Flo's job to find a way to stop it this year. He has not.
Addison for a 2nd round pick is idiotic. Definitely dumbest thing Dex has said. Addison needs more targets!!!! Darnold has been bad.
You guys should go live sometime on Sunday's during the "Witching Hour" just to discuss everything going on. Does not even need to include the Vikings.
29:36-29:48 one of the greatest moments in show history.
I was at the Rams game sitting right at the tunnel that Darrisaw was helped out of. He looked so sad walking off, the look on his face said it was bad bad
Maybe he is playing chess, and looking ahead the the last leg of the season in December. Playing possum with what he is putting on tape and sacrificing now to save for the division games later in the season.
Agree, Packers are better with Willis
Most of our fan base feels the same way. Thor was right about Willis all along and he will be right about McCarthy too.
@@PackerBacker911u guys are high, love and Willis are not even in the same zip code.
@@bonethug612612 Almost every Packer fan I know wants Love to sit so we can play Willis instead. The biggest problem is we already paid Love franchise QB money. Not everyone was sold on his half year of success. He's starting to look very injury prone also.

Quick question which teams would the Vikings face in the playoffs, the shitty teams that we "should" beat or teams like the lions and rams who can take advantage of our defensive liabilities?
Oh hell yeah it’s Purple Daily time
Dex you’re so negative what is more valuable buying a 1st round talent who’s known or unknown? Bad take buddy. Why not get better?
I feel like the pick that we are going to have isn't going to allow us to grab one of the elite three dts- not that others can't be elite- in the draft. Why not address a huge need who is a proven player in his prime, who can change the face of the defense and terrorize QBs when we are going to be drafting that position with an unproven rookie anyways. I say do it. Send a second first and ask for a future second or third as well. I'd rather have that moving forward than an unproven draftee who ,with kwesis draft record, probably won't turn out anyway.
Jordan said that he uses that caption with everything that he posts. Its a caption that he uses with all his posts
the cardinals offense is so underrated. Conner runs over everyone which opens up Murray
Why haven’t yall made a video or post on the trade. I’m embarrassed now since I just depend on you guys lol. All love!
Other than Jefferson, which players are mad about losing?

Coach Norm Van Brocklin called Tarkenton a .500 quarterback who would win you games that you should lose and lose you games you should have won.

Tarkenton isn't playing and Van Brocklin was a crappy coach, so I'm not sure what your point is.
It reminds me of recent Vikings teams.
They can beat better teams and lose to inferior teams.
Free # 3 he deserves more targets and catches
I think our kryptonite are elite running backs

Why would I have any expectations of this team when in all my 57 years they've never met them. I have zero. SB or bust.
Trade Addison & a 1st round pick for Sexy Dex what do you think?
10-7
Addison a first and a fifth to NY for Dexter Lawrence a third and a fourth. Buy or sell?
I never comment so please don't block me but the fact that you all three picked the Falcons beating the Vikings at home is ridiculous. The Falcons would have lost to the Buccaneers this weekend if they had their number 1 and 2 receivers. Regardless, the fact that you all picked Cousins to win in Minnesota when he struggled against the Flores Defense last year at training camp and the fact he is such a horrible performer in games that actually mean something 9 out of 10 times in most situations makes your criticisms of him over the years look stupid and you're just grasping for content. I mean, come on! If we lose to them in this game... the season is over, and that is not an over-reaction take.
Pika is to the Rams as hockenson is to Vikings
This is a big week, we must beat the colts otherwise we’re finished.
Flores didn't make changes last year, but he lacked players to do so. If he doesn't make changes this year, then it's on him.
