    This trade isn’t as exciting because we made a trade for a good player to replace a great Player. Imagine how exciting it would be if we made this trade for the same caliber of player to replace Ingram instead!

      This is a crazy take. All those players of similar caliber to Darrisaw are LOCKED up by their current teams, especially on the offensive line. We also have minimal trade assets to give up for someone of that caliber. That just isn't possible halfway through the season.

    • @rowtheskol
      @rowtheskol День тому +5

      @@dbb484this is a really dumb response because he didn’t ever say a top tier Tackle was available or that it should exciting. He simply gave the reason no one is excited about the trade, because it’s a trade to replace a great player with a good players. It was never going to be exciting and never meant to be

    • @dbb484
      @dbb484 День тому +2

      @rowtheskol correct. A trade for a high caliber player would be exciting but extremely unrealistic in the middle of a season. These players are either inured or locked up. You're not getting "exciting" trades when it's a position of need due to an injury, especially when u have 0 assets to trade.

And he’s got the cannon to chew us up in the middle deep area against our zone. Sure hope they start bringing the safeties up some and actually allow them to contest passes!! You can't just do things half-assed because you're afraid to commit, and this trade shows that the Vikings are commiting. They're aware that this team isn't the final product, there's no JJ McCarthy, they still have some flaws on the defense, etc., but this is our brain trust saying that they're going to keep the pressure on the Lions, and the other teams in the NFC, and they're not just going to play it safe. They're taking a chance, a 4th even if it is in 2026, is an investment, but it also doesn't over-invest in a position that is locked down for the long term future. So, I think this is move is spot on, I like it, and I don't think think they're done yet, I see them going after a defensive tackle still.

    I don't think this is a trade to be happy or upset about. I view the Vikings as a team that, based on their record and schedule, should make the playoffs. I also think that one wildcard game and exit is probably their fate. IMO does trading a likely 4th rounder to try and solidify a playoff berth seem like a bad deal...no. Does Cam Robinson unlock the door to a deep playoff run...no. If anyone is unhappy with the deal it's because they think Darnold at QB + positional holes puts severe limitations on this team. I get it, but at 5-2 it made sense to get a LT to show players and fans that the coaches and front office were fully invested in this season.

    I have no pick. Because how's THIS for a take you never hear --
    I Don't Know. Which defense shows up? If they get no pressure on Flacco, he will pick them apart. And if they couldn't get to Stafford, with that crap, patchwork O-Line they have, well ... The Colts have the best Offensive Line in the NFL.
    So if you can't pressure, & Flacco is reading every blitz, then you got rush 3-4 & drop 7-8 into coverage. And the middle of the field HAS to be zoned because the last 2 games, I thought Ed Donatelle had returned to the Vikings.
    So I don't know. Colts are a lot better than the fans are giving them credit for. They CAN beat the Vikings. And they WILL if the Purple don't shore up the middle of the field.

    Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons would tear a hole in the Vikings in the playoffs. Final score 45-24 Atlanta. Yes Mackey, smart Vikings fans are terrified of that matchup. Our best chance is starting to win again and staying at home, on the road anywhere and we're dead. I want to see us beat Joe Flacco before we start spewing playoffs. We should be 7-0, we just lost two easy wins, by easy I mean we had the game in our hands late in the 4th Q both times. That's ALWAYS a win for a good team and we lost. Again, our QB is average not good and our coach is TERRIBLE as the game clock ticks down. Great in the 1st Q and terrible in the 4th. It's becoming a trend and that's a very bad sign.

    Does Cam Robinson's contract actually help the Vikings acquire a compensatory pick next year? I seems to me that he will have a decent market if he plays well for the remainder of this season and his 2024 contract is 16M. I think this helps the compensatory pick formula especially if you consider that the Vikings are projected to be spenders in free agency...if so Kwesi is cooking.

    • @brianw3656

    Im afraid of Joe Flacco because I simply don't trust our coaching. I've seen too many games with 0 offense in the 2nd half over the past few years. I've seen too many allowed 3rd down conversions on pivotal drives. I've seen too many illegal formations. And too many "We've got a lot of things to work on" from KOC every single week. Nope, not drinking the Kool Aide.

    Draft picks are not going to win you a championship quality free agency will unless it's a position like running back or receiver. Draft picks take years to develop I'd rather bring someone in that has the experience already. That's the plus that this guy has over Darrisaw. That's how the patriots and Brady kept themselves so good for years.

      This. Same Spielman gimmicks gets the casuals excited. Until they stop drafting scrubs then they might have a chance to do something. This team is going to be aged out and dumpstered in 2-3 years. They can’t get younger with our piss poor draft picks and Jefferson’s getting older. Harry’s on the edge of retirement with nobody behind him because of the Cine debacle. Our interior line is terribly average, Bradbury and Ingram are weak. Can’t draft a franchise DT. CBs are laughable at this point, Gilmore is Father Time.

    These guys are clueless. They make a big deal out of a trade for a tackle. I have news for you. The Vikings are still far worse than they were last Wednesday. What they should be talking about is who could they trade for today that will improve the team. I said it earlier in the week. Flacco will start and will carve up the worst defense in the NFL. And the Colts will run all over a small Viking front. Considering it’s national TV this will be another humiliating loss. And we all know that Cashman will not play. Twinkle toes is soft.
