    Removing split ends has never been easier thanks to this hair hack from Sam Villa!
    Removing Split Ends: Take a horizontal section of hair and using the #3 hand position, weave the section under the ring finger, over the middle and under the pointer. Slowly slide fingers downs the section with medium tension and cut any ends that pop up on the top layer over the middle finger with Sam Villa Signature Series 7” Dry Cutting Shears opening and closing them to catch the split ends.

    Glad you addressed this! I've seen stylist compromise the length even though I heard the customer say that they didn't want much length cut off. That is my #1 irritation when stylists don't listen to the client.

    The redkin anti-snap leave in is truly an amazing product... it was recommended to me about 2 years ago from my stylist, after 3 trims with my 'nightmare' (super long, super thick, nearly unnatural volume, every stylist's worst nightmare for a quick trim)... I always give what he says a try (he's always right) and after a few uses the difference was noticeable... even got accused of getting extensions (waist length hair that is all mine)

    • @janinedear-barlow

    Don't worry, i already use this line and love it!! The shampoo leaves my hair a little fluffy and dried out and thin feeling because of my hair type-- BUT thats just bc i have bleached 2b hair. Even then using it a couple times a week has MAJORLY gotten my breakage under control which lead my to wanting to take this next step!! Talk about syncronicity!!

    I have mid shaft breakage due to frequently wearing ponytails. I also have new growth that is weak/whispy on the ends (probably due to having an end that already split?). I'm trying this method! I cut only a quarter of an inch off, until the hair strand was blunt again. It takes forever to do on yourself but I'm hoping it's worth it!

    Also, if you twist small sections the split ends will come out and you can cut those, just incase the split ends aren't on top of the hair.

  • @BestBirth
    @BestBirth 10 років тому +83

    A lot of the hairs that pop up aren't split, though. They are just shorter hairs, new growth. I use this method and the twisting method to find my split ends, but I am very selective about which strands I cut. I would only do this, or use the split ender tool (same concept) if I had a LOT of split ends.

    Please help. My hair has always been my pride and joy. I figured since it is pretty damn healthy, it could deal with some bleach damage. And I figured the master stylist who did all the color-corrections would know how much would be too much. I was wrong, and now I want to burst into tears every time I look at my hair or touch it. I just don't know what to do. My hair has also NEVER been shorter than this and it breaks and falls out. What should I do to regrow hair?

    • @janinedear-barlow
      @janinedear-barlow 4 роки тому

      Oh no that's awful!
      You need to use hydrolyzed protein on your hair to try to save it as best as can be saved. Normal proteins like egg and other home remedies will not help at all as they cannot absorb into the hair.
      Also try doing regular hot oil treatments and don't overwash your hair as you don't want it to dry out anymore. Use the hairdryer on cool when you use it instead in air drying as that will weaken the hair.
      I hope your hair wasnt too that it all fell out.

    My hair is so ruined right now I been trying to grow my side shave in for 2 years now it's taking forever and I noticed no hair cut I get is ever even due to me missing all the underneath hair in my right side from my past side shave that is only grown past my ear at this point and my hair is long down to my waist I got a cut last month it was so uneven all over King strands really short strands looks horrible and then I used micro loop extensions and for some reason this time I had a horrible experience they knotted up above the bead Because they slid down and when I took them out I lost 40 micro loop extension pieces of hair ! All my real hair slid out with the extensions never happened before so now I have uneven hair all over and broken pieces and fly always all around my damn head I am so upset there's no fixing this at this point unless I shave it off and start over wich I will not do or I just deal with it.i really wanna die my hair and I know if I do I'll lose even more hair I'm so pissed I have long enough hair to work with some size change but no salon seems to be able to line my hair up to match idk what the issue is

    • @janinedear-barlow
      @janinedear-barlow 4 роки тому

      No it doesn't have to be straightened because you will be stretching it inbetween your fingers. Get her to twist the sections instead and cutting the ends that stick out, as it will get more ends. There is no need for the twist method to need straight hair to do.

      The white dots are tricorrexis nodosa (nodules on the shaft). You will need to cut them away as when the break off the will cause fragilitas crinium (split ends).
      You need to use hydrolyzed protein on your hair to try to save it as best as can be saved. Normal proteins like egg and other home remedies will not help at all as they cannot absorb into the hair.

      You will end end losing length later on as the splits get better and then snap off. When you do this twist each section as you will be about to get more ends and you won't take as much length off.
