Hi just found your car channel and love what you’re doing. Your really natural on camera and your honest opinions are refreshing. Keep up the great work.
Another great review. My V50 gave up and based on your S60 review, I got one, so thanks a million, and I have no regrets. The comfort is so good, that after a long journey with the family, we will often just sit for an extra minute or two before getting out :) And with the sports mode on the D4, I get to have a bit of fun too. I was considering the XC60 and will have it on my short list, but would need to have the cream leather, electric seats and sunroof.
Another great Car Babble video. I love the XC60s and like that this one in particular still manages to look like a classy motor, despite being base spec. What I don't like as much is that I think the recent Volvo diesel engines are a bit behind the pace, both from a refinement point of view and also economy. If 35mpg in this one is a true average, that's a good 20-25% behind some of its rivals, many of which would also have stronger performance, and that will be important to a lot of owners.
Thanks a lot Hoppo! Defo agree on the refinement for the Volvo diesels. They are hilariously loud. I can't be sure of the 35 mpg, but that is in fact down a bit on many rivals, as you say. From my own experience of that engine in the older S60 and V60, fuel economy was amazing, so I do wonder what could be bringing it down so much in the XC60. Can't be that much heavier than its rivals!
Thanks Euan. Informative as ever. Actually thinking about getting the XC60. XC90 is massive and just a small bus! Maybe looking at a newer model that 2017. Maybe 2020-21 any major changes in those models to this one you reported on?
@@alfiecumming2710 thanks Alfie! Newer ones probably more reliable through having worked out the kinks since launch but the newer infotainment would be worth having. XC90 is an awfully big car unless you really need it so the XC60 would be a good size if you don't have a need for 7 seats.
Great review! Yip, outside of having 2 cars I think a comfortable cruiser with decent tech and reliability is the way to go. As long as it has the power to do an occasional quick exit from a junction or overtake.
Thanks Wayne. I think the way to rationalize it simply what % of your driving is on what circumstances and consider that before you pick sporty over comfort.

Lol, Audi's are FULL of gloss black plastic!
Better build quality, though
