I have got a 2018 Mercedes glc250d AMG style formatic premium +! My car has been remapped giving about 46bhp & 64nm of torque extra! My car has AMG brakes and full sun hatch! This is my 9th Mercedes and the best yet now I have given it a lot of love and attention! The car handling is greatly improved by top quality tyres!
I came here for this video. Just sold my 2012 c250 after 8 years. Absolutely loved it. This seems like the perfect next car so really respect your opinions whilst i search for the right one
I had the 250d premium plus with the night pack the same as this one and if it had not been stolen off my drive earlier this year I would still be happy to own it, Had it 4 years and 60k miles and it never missed a beat, Bought a C class estate for the short term to replace but I am looking for another GLC as so practical and comfy,
I have one of these but mine has real nappa leather seats (this was a cost option when new and is quite rare - most are the usual Mercedes fake leather - you can tell because has a different stich pattern). It also has extended leather dashboard, door cards and knee rolls, and carbon fibre centre console. Looks loads better than this one, that fake wood centre is awful IMO. Awesome car, I absolutely love it! If buying one make sure you get one with Burmeister sound, it's amazing.
Got the 220d GLC AMG same as this, slightly less engine power. Honest view from me. Great car, love it. Don't find the 220d underpowered at all, plenty of power and torque (more than enough than I need and I've owned an SLK), no problem overtaking. Good fuel economy as well, nearly 50mpg if careful and on eco setting. Engines are a bit noisy at idle compared to say BMW, but not really an issue. As you say fine when on the move. Suspension a good mix of smooth but firm, much better suspension than X3, which is a bone shaker (took one back and went for GLC instead). I've had a few Mercs and found them reliable but I have had a problem with the GLC people should be aware of on the diesels. They get the dreaded Adblue problem every few months, where it says there's no Adblue in but it's full, then it says it will switch the engine off at the end of 400 miles (everything works fine but its set up to switch off if Euro6 not complied with). It's been back to garage on warranty for repairs but that lasted only 2 months and the dreaded nessage has just re-appeared. I've googled fixes and it appears it can be sorted but garage's seem to get locked in a loop of trying to fix them if not done properly. So great car, ticks all my boxes but could someone give in trying to live with this Adblue glitch?
Really appreciate you taking the time to give me such detailed feedback. Bit of a shocker on the Adblue though! Silly things like that can undermine everything good about a car.
i just inherited a 2017 one of these with 32,000 km on it ,i love it and agree with you on the spongy brakes and the noise when it ticks over is louder than my fiat van! but very silent when driving but other than that its a super motor ,im not sure yet will i keep it as i have an old van i use for getting around ,but damm its a nice car, although mercedes tell me its due a gearbox service and general service and im a little worried it will cost me my left arm! to keep on the road !!
@@car_babble no I don't think so it's been serviced at 8200 ,13271,19368,22549 and 26000 since it was bought new in 2017 and today has 32000 on the clock
Great and honest review, thanks for sharing your insights. I bought 250d amg line premium plus a few months ago and must say it’s still a great and up to date car. What I truly hate is engine sound… damn… sounds like old ford vans 😂 I owned 2016 audi a6 and it was way better.
@@ThelastOfthereal I am looking at one to buy . What are your experiences in last 4 months , and what do you suggest me ? Shall I buy ? How can I keep it up
@@AunaliBandali the only thing that I don’t like about this car is the sound of the diesel engine. In my opinion it’s worse and louder than others from that period. Besides that great car! I had absolutely no issues with it.
I would say it depends on your priorities. If you care about more modern tech and infotainment then possibly. If you don't, you'll save a lot of money on the pre-facelift.
Is it expensive to maintain ? I have selected the same model and make from auto trader used with 70,000 miles on it . I am in process of buying but came across your video so thought of your opinion
f pace does have a bigger boot and may have better handling , but as it will be in a land rover garage for most of the time you own it , due to the amount of the time its not working , just buy a Mercedes and now you have a bit of class.

That's a decent bit of performance from a 4 cylinder for sure 💪
Well done! I'm purchasing one exactly like this one and its great to see all this info before. Cheers!
Hope it works out for you!

Thanks Ryan, I hope it helped you with your search.
Great detailed review with all the info I would want. Definitely a short lister for me. Thanks ❤️
Cheers Wayne!

Nice one mate. Did you rate the Burmester sound system?
@@car_babble The sound quality was fantastic , im no audiophile but I was more than happy with it

@@car_babble yeah it's a real pity. Still love the car and under warranty but if they don't solve the adblue glitch you have to wonder what to do.

Just take it to an independent mate. You'll save a fortune on the service. That's unless you've got an extended warranty?

Thanks for the comment. Yeah it's a good car for the most part but they need to work on the refinement!

How much is it worth . Also if one bought it at 80k miles ,when will thing start going wrong / get expensive?
Sorry mate, this wasn't my car but Google is your friend for reliability stats and valuations.
Any plans to review an Evoque? Or discovery sport? 2020ish
I'm hoping to get a Velar soon but not had any more with an Evoque or Disco yet. Hopefully eventually! 🙂
Any owner thoughts on the petrol 250 variant?
Sorry mate, not driven that one but i think the diesel suits this style of car, especially if you do long journeys.
Is it worth paying extra for 2019+ models? Whats the main differences compared to the car in the video

Yeah mercedes are expensive to service but if it's out of warranty then just take it to an independent specialist and you'll save a fortune.
@@car_babble if I was to keep it for few years from now , will it still have the resale value according to your expertise
@@car_babble we are worried because we are buying from an independent dealer . Not from authorised dealer.
@AunaliBandali I wouldn't say i am an expert on mercedes but I'd say it's a better car to hold its value than say an Audi Q5.
how does this compare to the 2016 MB GLC 2.1 GLC 250d 4Matic AMG Line Prem Plus 9G-Tronic COUPE
Sorry I have not driven that one to compare but suspect the differences are not significant.
The 220d is really sufficient. I own one and don't feel "underpowered" at all. If horsepower really matters then go straight for the 400d.

The reliability of an F Pace is definitely a possible deal breaker.
The Q5 is more beautiful but has a tone of problems unfortunately
What sort of issues are you aware of?
