I love how it looks like early automobile, and just the down to basics of the design. The simplicity of the overall design is great, and the bend in the middle of the frame is frightening! All the things that make projects like this awesome.
He seems to be measuring and making adjustments as he goes which is how I build, it's slow and it's very difficult but when you're like me and you absolutely hate the overcomplicated stress of drawing out plans it's a lot more fun well done

This bike is quite heavy, and I have caught my foot (heel strike) under the rear deck whilst moving, which was very painful. This vehicle is much heavier, and will not stop for a dangled limb. The limb will get munched! Nothing wrong with pointing that out if it saves and injury surely.

I am pretty sure derivatives such as a heavier duty frame, more powerful wheel engines, a larger roof with more solar panels and even a 'hood' solar panel hiding a larger storage battery plus some platform under covering and protecting the passengers could make it even more viable for the road. Really cool--nice job! I think I would make the frame out of a reinforced bamboo. Spray high density spray foam into the core of the bamboo, and then reinforce the outer with a combination of epoxy, carbon fiber or s glass fiberglass, and carbonized crystalline nanocellulose (CCNC). It would provide really good shock absorption and be lighter. (connecting them to each other would be a pain though). For the floor, I would do a hammock out of very strong woven 6.6 nylon lined with foam, and have a hammock back similar, hanging from ceiling. Probably would have to do a 3 wheel design to get around more strict laws in the US--it would get classified as a motorcycle and easier to get on the road.

agreed but sagging is not the problem and could be used to shock advantage so long as you replace sides with 2 very light long leaf springs as they flex up n down but never twist or curl out of line
Cool suspension I bet the ride is silky smooth... when you drive on glass. However I appreciate the simplicity and minimalism of the construction. This 'car' is perfect to dress like Fred Flintstone and order some big ribs.
Even though the frame wouldn’t last more then the initial test driving period and the front end isn’t built to last, you have to admit that he got it up and running and that’s a cool accomplishment. The frame can be redesigned and other weak parts weeded out but the idea behind it and the energy put into it is great
I got car maintenance "yogurt" through mine it's from a metal canned good empty with it sitting on a ashtray for connecting properly but mostly the edition is made from a plastic treadmill and a few door knobs I learned it from a custom automotive building book as a kid so good luck with your lifestyle choices thanks 👍👋

That frame needs way more stiffness. It was bowed almost to the floor. And he was going full speed no helmet. A failure can be deadly if a tube breaks.
If u live in a windy and cloudy place u can add 55% of energy setting a mirror infront the solar panel,then u will have energy gains! Greetins from mexico
very very cool! But the frame could do with some more strenthening, a few well placed gussets, some triangles in really important spots. Now that it is bent in the middle its going to be difficult to make it super strong, but not impossible no doubt. Like others have said here I would want to have more secure places to put your feet too...
Without any type of suspension/dampening, I'm afraid it's an accident waiting to happen. Hopefully, it happens while you're going at a slow speed. Just speaking from my own personal experience. Which unfortunately occurred at @ 30 mph. Please take care, be careful.

You mean powering a 4 wheeled buggy by electric motors... lol That was built long before the first car.... this "idea" was far more popular than gas powered cars back in the day.. But oil became too cheap and batteries were terrible........... Here we are 100 years later and not much has changed.
i see alot of comments about frame flex or bending. so here is my opinion. i understand the desire to keep weight down, so i would add 1 "A" pillar down the center from near the steering to the front of the roof. this would make the roof part of the rigidity. 1 pillar instead of 2 would still make it easy to get in and out, as well as allowing the "suspension" to move semi-independently.

Accidentally means not intentionally. If it's not intentionally nothing will happen as a very little force applied to the ground and the leg will just bounce out of the ground if you put it in the sharp angle or just "ski" with a flat one
It's stunning how primitive all the work is. Working on a park bench. Cutting with an angle grinder. Welding right next to the wheel bearings and rubber tires with an ancient stick welder. It's actually bending in the middle though. At 2:21 the frame rails are straight. By 8:42 they're bowed on both sides.

Really cool! That machine really goes! I would swap the wheels on one side around and wire the motors in reverse so the brake discs are all inboard or outboard, just for symmetry.

It's cool. Now you just need a floor, side panels, back panels, front panel, wind shield, sit belts, airbags, interior panels, doors, parking break, mirrors, direction indicators, air-conditioning, side and back windows, infotainment system and homologation.

Really cool! That machine really goes! I would swap the wheels on one side around and wire the motors in reverse so the brake discs are all inboard or outboard, just for symmetry.
