You are simply a legend. Every time I have an issue with my X (which hasn't been many in 230k miles, thankfully) you are always there with a guide. Always well-spoken, to the point and with good camera angles. Thank you so much!
Just wanted to come back here and tell you "thanks"! I watched your video yesterday and replaced my sway bar bushings and links this morning. It was not difficult but there were times I would have been lost if I had not watched this. Really appreciate your work!
Fantastic video. Worked perfectly for my 06 Frontier - except for the tons of rust from living in the northeast. Thank you for these videos, they have saved me thousands and given me the confidence to try it myself.
Just barely did mine, driver side was broken, so thank you god for watching out for me on that, as well as the inner driver side tie rod.. so bad when I popped it from the wheel it flopped down.. ball joint totally shot so again god thank you..
Thank you for the video. I have a 2003 Xterra and the sway bar link is a straight bolt. (Which is snapped in half) I will be tackling that project tonight. I might as well replace the rubber bushing too.
amazing. Didn't think there would be a video on this but you cover just about everything for maintenance. Good thing Nissan made the Xterra so gear heads could work on them. I have a Frontier which is similar and not many people post videos for the frontier like you do with your X.
Thanks a bunch for the great video!! Just bent both of the links when I dropped the sway bar off to change the oil pressure sensor on a 2006 Nissan titan. After watching your video I realized that they were both bad to begin with. (tons of slop in the joint) Easy enough to fix at home!!
I had this to be changed on my Nissan Frontier and it was a pain to change because of the rust , but finally I got them out , and I had to jack up the weel up to get the other side on , it felt really good to do it my self and I have done it ... thanks again for the Vedios. And I took the truck for a test drive and it was great ....
Cool cool. Was dreading this job. Thanks for the straight to the point video. You are a good mechanic bud, you need some better tools like a ratchet wrench set. Watching you take those 17s off with a box wrench was painful 😅
Haha thank you. This video is a few years old now. Since then I have bought all kinds of new tools. Including the ratcheting wrench set. They are amazing!
you all prolly dont give a damn but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Alexzander Colson I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Wrenching 101: Use the box end to break-free and for final tightening. The open-end speeds removal of a loose nut. It drives me crazy to see guys do it this way when space allows the correct use of a combination wrench. It's even better if you invest in a socket wrench and torque per spec.
Thanks for posting this Ry. Wish I saw this before I went in to the dealer for service this week. Have a 2nd gen 05 xterra s 4wd with 101,713+ miles on it, had the front stabilizer bar bushings replaced and originally came in for the fuel level sensor failing and getting my service engine soon light on.. My question is this- having this front stabilizer bar bushings now replaced- what should i be looking for when driving? The car should not be swaying or the steering wheel not doing very small mini shakes, right? Thanks again for your vids, great edits
Yea. I would go non-greaseable. I hate fiddling with grease fittings and the links in these are so inexpensive and easy to swap that I would rather swap them when they need it rather than dink around with getting a grease gun in there.
Mine had a 19mm holder (not the hex thing) on the inside of the sway bar, and every bolt was VERY stuck. I had to crank on it with a breaker bar. So, get ready, that might happen for you too.
Does the passenger side link have to go in a specific way? Is it possible to install it wrong or upside down? I’m asking because I have never done this. Thank you.
Are swaybar links and bushings part of the safety test to get an inspection sticker on this Nissan? If they are no good should it still pass the safety test or would this be something a dealership would have to fix free of charge within the 30 lemon law warranty?
Unfortunately I do not have a time frame. To be honest I need to chill on how much money I am spending on this truck :/ The Xterra is only one of my cars. I have 3 more 0.0 I am working on a patreon page that will hopefully help me expand Ry the Car Guy and allow me to do a ton more videos. Sorry I cannot give you better info.
Not a problem. I enjoy your videos. You make this way easier for me and make it simple to understand. I really appreciate that. Upper ball joints was my next issue to tackle with my Pathfinder.
Check your hood latch and the little rubber bump stops on the bottom of the hood its self.... Sounds stupid but i went through a lot just to find out my hood latch wasn't tight and the bump stops were just squeaking where they meet the body of engine compartment
Hi bud, this is going to sting, but it’s cuz I care more than most people that don’t have a pair of balls to break it to you. You look...well, just get rid of the earrings ! Your videos are great and even an old timer like me can learn something from you. I also think you’re a good guy . Just looking out for ya young buck.

My pleasure! Thanks for watching.

Of course! I'm glad it helped.

Man, I am grateful for your videos. I’ve had to refresh my X’s suspension and have done a bunch of stuff following your instructions 🍻 thanks
Great video. I have a 2012 X. I ordered the links from Moog. Waiting for them to come in and hopefully get them on!
Heck yea!
Love your channel brother. I have an r51 pathy and a lot of this stuff applies to it.
pra3t0rian me too

Omg this is just the coolest video ever. Thank you!
You’re welcome, if you like that video be sure to subscribe. I make tons of videos like that.
For reals this is a great video
If you ever get rid of that Xterra... I can't even tell you how depressed I'll be! They've been great, and very helpful videos
Thank you for saying that. I really enjoy doing them and as long as people keep watching I will keep making them.
Thanks Ry, from Patagonia Argentina
very good your videos.
+Victor Kischinovsky thank you! I hope you enjoy them.

Thank you so much for this! I have an '08 Xterra and did full rear brakes AND sway bar links today!
you all prolly dont give a damn but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account??

@Emmanuel Harlan instablaster ;)
@Alexzander Colson I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.

@Alexzander Colson it worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass!
@Emmanuel Harlan happy to help :)
This took me a whole day to do. The north is rough. Totally rounded and seized.
Annoying isn't it?
Man 👨 I have struggled lot’s
And this video show me how to replace my
On my
Pro 4x

You need bigger problems dude.
Is the procedure for the rear end links and bushings the same? Cool video!
Thank you Ry! Exactly what I was looking for and exact same set up for my 09 Suzuki Equator! Time for me to get to work!
Sweet, glad to hear!
Thank you for doing this video, very helpfulf!!!
Thanks man!
Yup!!
Subscribed! Good video man
Thanks for this video, planning to do this and sway bar bushing, but how nessesary is it itll not be bumpy on bumps right??
Thanks for this vid. I'll be doing this to my 07' X asap.
Thanks Ry, That Will Be My Next Project.
+J.R Rios Sweet! Let me know how it goes

Do you have an opinion about greasable versus non-greasable sway bar links?
Yea. I would go non-greaseable. I hate fiddling with grease fittings and the links in these are so inexpensive and easy to swap that I would rather swap them when they need it rather than dink around with getting a grease gun in there.
Do you have a video on the rear sway links?
Mine had a 19mm holder (not the hex thing) on the inside of the sway bar, and every bolt was VERY stuck. I had to crank on it with a breaker bar. So, get ready, that might happen for you too.
Can you also make a video on how to replace front and rear strut.
Cool. this helps me a lot. Thanks man!
No problem!
invest in some ratcheting wrenches man they are life changers
Just get you some $10 deep socket impact sets at harbor freight so you can use them and return them
Ok, so I'm installing one side at a time. How do you know if its a left or right? The package doesn't say which one it is.
Does it have a part number? If so match it on the website.
@@Rythecarguy it does but when they don't carry the same part # over when doing the bundle purchasing.
Ry what about the exhaust? I would love to do an exhaust on mine
Thank you
👍🏻
Thanks Ry. Do you know what the torque spec is for those nuts?
goodentight I've never torqued a nut that wasn't on the engine. And never had a problem.
Thanks for video l I have 2011 x, in feature time I might need your advice. Thanks! Merry Christmas.
The little metal rings on the new end links, why are those there? Are they important? They are like thin rings
I'm not sure to which rings you are referring.
Does the passenger side link have to go in a specific way? Is it possible to install it wrong or upside down? I’m asking because I have never done this. Thank you.
No, if it's upside down then it won't go in. Believe me I tried lol.
@@Rythecarguy ok. Thank you! I’m glad you tried it first. Lol. 🙌🏽
Can you make a video about changing the shocks and struts? Please.
I have thought about doing a video on a installing a lift kit. This would essentially serve that purpose.
Torque specs are created for a reason!!! Those bolts should be torqued properly.
Are swaybar links and bushings part of the safety test to get an inspection sticker on this Nissan? If they are no good should it still pass the safety test or would this be something a dealership would have to fix free of charge within the 30 lemon law warranty?
I do not know. They do not do safety inspections where I am from.
Nice, thank you!
Lots of important things in this video. “It’s in.” “Take your other nut”. Just kidding, Awesome tutorial Ry!
😂
Why can’t you put the year model your working on in the title or description.....
It does say second gen. That's all I need.
You mentioned in your Tie Rods End video that upper ball joints will be coming. Any idea when?
Unfortunately I do not have a time frame. To be honest I need to chill on how much money I am spending on this truck :/ The Xterra is only one of my cars. I have 3 more 0.0

redeagles2 I'm really glad you like them. I love to help people out an this channel is no exception. Thanks!
If my X has A rattle every time I go over bumps from Yorkspring what could that be it sounds like it's in my front suspension
Check your hood latch and the little rubber bump stops on the bottom of the hood its self.... Sounds stupid but i went through a lot just to find out my hood latch wasn't tight and the bump stops were just squeaking where they meet the body of engine compartment
Thanks man...by the way, what kind of bird do you have????...hehehe
Might need a hex key in the center of the nut to get it out.
For sure, some times they spin.
Can you do the back one too ?
What weight Jack stands are you using?
2 Ton
Do you need to take off wheel to do this job?
I’m sure you you technically do it without but it would be a pain. Why don’t you not want to take the wheel off?
did he torque anything ?
Is it the same with my 02 Xterra?
Not exactly but probably very similar.
Do you really have to take the wheel off?
Hi bud, this is going to sting, but it’s cuz I care more than most people that don’t have a pair of balls to break it to you. You look...well, just get rid of the earrings ! Your videos are great and even an old timer like me can learn something from you. I also think you’re a good guy . Just looking out for ya young buck.
Each their own. Just because someone doesn’t like it doesn’t mean it’s bad.
Ditch ditch ditch lol...
Huh?
