I honestly think exposing this tattoo artist is totally justified in this situation. The tattoo artist is clearly a scammer and taking advantage of people. She should not be allowed to continue doing this with no consequences.
i definitely think that it was important to show the business in order for people to be able to avoid the artist's business practices. however, i think that the harassment is too much. with how the internet works people just go absolutely overboard with these type of things, so i do respect the original people who posted about their experiences not mentioning the artists name.
@@birdigo get where you’re coming from, but didn’t she literally do the same thing to one of the clients she scammed? She posted the woman’s driver’s license with her full name and HOME address, and had other tattoo artists and the cops going after her. I’m not saying it’s good to dox her back, but I truly feel no sympathy for the artist.
@@VannahSavage imo owning a business and choosing to treat someone this way, knowing the factor that the internet plays and how it could implicate you immediately, they deserve anything they get. And hiding the business name and whatnot are probably why other businesses are getting confused for it, transparency would lead to accountability.
It feels like everyone is really downplaying the tattoo artists doxxing the victim of a scam for not paying. Even if the customer DID take advantage, that is still horrific
I have no qualms about “doxxing” (posting the name of the shop) an artist who has actually doxxed a victim of her scam. Saying “this business is harmful and should be avoided” is WAY different from posting an individuals’ full name an address on social media
Yeah, businesses are different then people. It is reasonable to warn people off from going to her shop. If her home address or personal number was leaked, that would be taking it too far.
I think telling people to go attack her business is kinda where I am more on Nick's side. I think that's why the original tiktokker did not mention the business name because she suspected it could get out of hand really quickly.
I think both replies here are correct; warning folks not to patronize a business due to predatory practices is reasonable, but launching a fraudulent smear campaign is too far.
the problem is that there could be cases where it's a misunderstanding or the person making a tiktok complaint is taking things out of proportion. The tiktok crowd will side with them either way and fail to show critical thinking skills. Harassment of innocent businesses and humans has happened before and will happen as long as this type of swarm behavior is deemed okay.
@@justastrangegirl idk I feel like scammers should be called out, maybe it’s just me but she’s legit stealing money from ppl and I feel like this is necessary for spreading awareness
You are totally correct. I got a beautiful 9 year old used vehicle, one precious owner, great condition.. for $3000. There's no excuse for a $4000 half sleeve that isn't even what they asked for.
you could get an entire back piece from a decent artist or a still very large full color tattoo from a straight up famous artist for this much. All of these legit artists will let you change the piece as much as you want within reason.
It's pretty standard to have to pay to see the sketch, but the fee is low and acts as the deposit. Some artists also consider the sketch deposit as towards the tattoo cost. Edit: y'all saying "umm acktualy you pay for the final design, not the sketch" that's literally what I meant
Fr!! I'm currently making someone a sketch to bring in to a tat artist and its almost done but I'm not charging and I'm doing this because I was so inspired by the idea LMAO
@@boojersey13 that's not really the same situation at all, but that's very nice of you... artists who get commissioned to design tattoos - or tattoo artists - should not do artwork for free.
if an artist is not willing to collaborate with you for something that you are going to PAY to be on YOUR body FOREVER.. run. they do not deserve your money.
I couldn’t even imagine paying that much for just a consultation. There are loads of local artists that are far more ethical and reasonable in pricing.
same and this artist is not even that talented lol. like every artist i've been tatted by has way better technique and does cleaner work, and none of them charged me anything for a consultation, let alone almost 200 bucks.
This is such insanely predatory behavior on behalf of the artist, and I have to wonder whether her customers have had other tattoo experiences before. $140 for a consultation alone is bonkers, let alone the gargantuan deposit. I've gotten decently big tattoos from multiple shops in multiple countries and none of them even sniffed any of this in price or practice. Do your freaking research before these purchases!!!
Yeah the price for all of that is so wild. Like I stick to one shop but I have never paid a consultation fee. The only thing I pay before hand is the deposit to hold my date which also gets taken off my overall total after the tattoo is done. Even my friend in a whole other province just had a consultation in store and she didn't have to pay anything. She just brought the guys coffee and then booked a date after the consult
@Violet I totally agree. This is a super American way of thinking that unfortunately seems to be seeping over into the Canadian border. Other civilized countries have regulations in place protecting the consumer from being taken advantage of in the first place. But in freedomland, you have to be the most educated consumer on Earth in order to protect yourself, because no other entity is looking out for you. This is a bit of an aside, but this is why the US is considered so sue-happy. Many years ago, our leaders made the conscious decision that it was better to let chaos ensue in the open market. Then if an individual got burned, they could take the matter to court after the fact to try and right the wrong. Then in the 80s and 90s, big corporations started pushing "tort reform" - severely limiting the consumer's ability to hold businesses accountable in the courts that were created to do just that. Still no regulations tho
@violet6123I dont think they're saying the people are at fault. It always helps to get a second opinion when thinking about buying something expensive. That is genuinely useful advice that everyone should be following if they are able to. It is also the reason why I wish some places weren't so vague about their pricing. It's hard to compare if something is unusual if everyone is elusive about it.
One of the girls who was in the video that was (rightfully) complaining about the scam had plenty of tattoos, so I assume some of her customers have had tattoos before and know the process of it all
Nick was joking at the beginning but as someone who doesn't use Tiktok I actually do rely on him for Tiktok drama opinions because his channel is the only place I hear about it
I use tiktok a lot but I mostly get art, cooking, reptiles, and updates on lgbtq rights in the US (not going well btw we are in danger) so I use channels like this for drama
I got all my lower belly tatted for around 200dollars (4 thousand mexican pesos). Thed design is very good, but the technique is lacking since some color faded almost right away. But for 500dollars you can get impecable large tattoos in Mexico. Remind me to never get tats in the US lol
Very sorry if I sound rude but you really shouldn’t ever get a tattoo if you’re not willing to speak up about something you don’t like. It’s scary for me as an artist because I’ve almost given people the wrong thing because they were too scared to speak up…… It’s literally going on your body permanently and no good artist is going to be offended about changing something or letting a client walk away because their prices are a bit too steep.
At what point would rational thinking kick in for you? Would it be after you paid the down payment on the artists car? Or after you paid for their mortgage? Over $1000 for a concept sketch is insane. NVM the rest
@janb92 Exactly. I wanted a tattoo when I turned 18. Even though I was an adult, I was still in highschool and didn't just get to do whatever I wanted. So my dad told me he was fine with me getting a tattoo.. if I went to at least 5 different shops to see the work, compare the prices, and see which shops were reputable, and which ones were not. I'm 32 now.. and I still love my first tattoo because I bothered to ask questions, and make sure it was quality work before I just handed over money to some random person with a tattoo gun lol.

deposits at my studio are €50 and that goes towards the tattoo itself, I can't believe people are even entertaining the idea of deposits that expensive.
the idea of a deposit not going towards the tattoo is... insane. i was under the impression that the whole point of a deposit is to avoid losing a shit ton of money from a booking being cancelled too soon for it to be filled. if someone's getting the tattoo, then you're not losing any money that a deposit needs to make up for ???

@@grossberglawoffices9910 Ya, I don't agree with her being harassed but it's good that people are being informed about what she's doing because it 100% isn't okay.
I do think that the only way for scams like this to be stopped is for the audience to make it very clear that they are not OK with this behavior, but the other artists who work at the studio and the other studios that were falsely accused because they got the names mixed up don’t deserve that behavior. I am less sympathetic of the tattoo artist herself because she also created a smear campaign about the woman she scammed out of $4000 and almost got her banned from all the tattoo artists in her area over a lie. AND she shared this woman’s drivers license to the other artists who then shared it to their Instagram followers. She perpetuates the same awful behavior but worse - her victims gave her the courtesy of not saying her name and she didn’t give the same in return
I agree she should be called out for that, but at the same time some internet weirdos need to hold their horses when it comes to the vigilante justice. Scams need to be called out otherwise they won't ever end and our world will become more and more dangerous in seemingly secure situations
Unfortunately scammer artists will always have a market in vacation spots where tourists want to get spontaneous tattoos, especially after they’ve been drinking and partying. If you’re an unethical artist, it’s incredibly easy to scam tourists who are having such a great time that they’ll agree to anything. Their wallets are already open. Watch out for artists like this in places like Florida, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and especially outside the US where the laws can be very lax re: tattoos
This just reminds me of a time I went with my cousin to the tattoo parlor. A lot of tattoo places have a version of randomly drawing a concept and getting a discount “get what you get” tattoo. Here at this place the deal was you put a quarter in to gumball machine and you get a ball with piece paper inside then for $10 you get a random tattoo with no say. when she did this, the guy still made multiple sketches let her choose and ask if there’s anything else that he should change before the final sketch. they appreciate the opportunity to be created without any restrictions, but they were still aware that this is going to be a permanent piece on her body. That made it important to the artist for her to like it and he wanted to work with her so that was the case. If you are paying full price in no way, should you not be able to ask for multiple options or for changes.
@@brkh96 its basically a random prompt or sketch but most of the time you have the option of rerolling fora small fee or you can just say "nevermind I don't want that" but still have to pay the price

tbh i think it’s okay to expose the account and business name. it’s all business, not her address, and she seriously shouldn’t be allowed to just scam tens of thousands of dollars from *actual* innocent people and get off scot-free
This lady literally doxxed a customer so if the same thing happens to her I wouldnt care. This isnt drama its a scammer hiding behind the words tattoo artist
This story was insane to me. I have 9 tattoos, all done professionally by good artists. The most I have been charged for a tattoo was my full color & detailed large piece (about 10-12 inches, basically covers my entire upper arm). It was about $800, including my $100 deposit. To charge over $2000 for essentially a deposit and sketch and then an EXTRA undisclosed amount for the tattoo? It's INSANITY. Also, my deposits have always counted towards my tattoo as they're usually to cover for no-shows and people who back out last minute. My favorite artist actually stopped charging me deposits once he got to know me. I refuse to believe this artist is actually getting regular clients with prices like this. They will be out of the industry fast with prices and policies like that. There are plenty of amazing artists who'd be willing to do what OP requested for like $700.
@@GrayYeonWannabe I live in a non-glamorous part of California lol. Theres a lot of good tattoo artists here so you'll always be able to find the perfect artist with the right price.
I guess you don't need regulars when you charge like they did. You just need two suckers a month to be making a decent amount while putting in almost no work.
The girl that got scammed is so gentle and nice. I hope that she goes to that professional and get her free tattoo and that it’s perfect and she loves it forever 😁
I know this is a month old and you may know this already but she did end up getting the tattoo. I’m pretty sure from the guy who said he’d fly her out. And it’s wonderful. She was so happy and it looked so much better than anything that scammer would of gave her.
@@Gravemistake94 thats great to hear, thanks hoebag. she seems like such a nice sweet and quiet lady, who just fucking loves foxes. I mean look at her cute little pillow with the sleeping fox on it!
As an artist, I’m 99% sure that the fox is traced from that picture. The legs are a bit different (and, coincidentally, way less detailed and anatomically correct 👀) but the head and face are the EXACT same, not just the same angle but every little detail is the same, it’s clearly the exact same animal. Not even another one it the same position, it’s this precise fox from this precise photo.
I could draw you a sketch like that by tracing in ten minutes and she has the audacity to charge as much as I make in an entire month (not as an artist, but notwithstanding)
I'd say it's a bad copy TBF, rather than traced, it's not like it's difficult to just copy another piece line for line and get it looking this similar (not saying that's necessarily better ig) Snout slightly shorter, nose is small and 'off', eyes too big, neck ruff too small/short, forehead bulges at front then weirdly dips at back.. it's honestly not good enough to be traced imo. I (and most other artists) could make a closer copy than this without needing to trace. Also I know it's 'just a sketch' but those legs infuriate me, ones a noodle and ones a full of chunk of chicken.. 🍗
$1500 JUST FOR A SKETCH!?!? THE TATTOO AINT EVEN WORTH THAT MUCH!! Usually i pay $50 and they redesign it UNTIL YOU LOVE IT!! AND IF YOU GO THROUGH AND GET IT THAT $50 COMES OUT OF THE TATTOO PRICE!!
I deleted tiktok off my phone almost a year ago, so you making these videos is really entertaining to me. Like you're knocking on my window past midnight going "guess what the hell happened this week." 💁🏻💀
Not a tattoo artist, but I do have experience taking art commissions. Charging a fee just to let the client have control over what they want the final piece to look like is *insane* to me. Reviewing the design and doing concept sketches is automatically a part of the process from the get go. I WANT my clients to be specific, to tell me during the design process if they want revisions, because it makes my job easier and ensures they get a piece they like. Making sure your client gets the piece they want is like, bare minimum of something like this.
100%! And this is normal across so many creative industries. I work in music and most of my income comes from toplining - someone makes a track, pays me to come in and write the lyrics, vocal melodies, & record it. 90% of the job is going back and forth and making adjustments until you get what the client wants. If I just said 'you get what you get and it's good', or 'I'll make changes for an extra GRAND' I'd never get hired again 😂😂
I've seen cases where there are limited times person can change design then they're taking some fee's, it's because of amount of time person takes to fix the design. I can understand it, since having to fix stuff 15 times can be annoying if client isn't specific. Especially if person can scam the artist.
@@patisilence Yeah, there’s always gonna be exceptions where it’s like… okay, they’re just being a difficult client lol. Paying a fee to have any kind of involvement in the design process though is wild to me
to be frank, some of the finest tattoo artists in the world dont charge those kinds of prices for much larger pieces. the ego is inflated to the point of cruelty. youre an artist, not some kind of tattoo monarch who can demand tithes and offerings.
15:54 exactly. No more hiding. This isn't mob behavior, i super disagree with Nick. She deserved to lose her business for this. Tattoos are PERMANENT and newcomers trust their artists not to fuck with them like this.
I think the big “mob behavior” part of it is that people were spam reviewing places that weren’t even hers, just had similar names. When a mob of people do those huge spam reviews, a large group of them don’t always make sure they are on the right business, so others get tanked just for having a similar name, and that’s not cool
doxxing people like her is lowkey justified because she's a literal DANGER. She's tattooing people and straight up lying and misrepresenting what she's doing to them. This is a social danger, like actually. tattoos are permanent and situations where you're under the needle you're basically at the mercy of the other person, what are you gonna do, start arguing with them and make them angry mid tattoo session? leave and lose all your money? it's actual coercion and manipulation at some point.
another crazy thing about this situation is that multiple people came forward saying they asked to apprentice with this tattoo artist and she told them that they could either pay her $10,000 to get a shop tour and learn the basics of tattoing, or they could be her apprentice for free, but they would have to run the shop completely by themselves and do all of the work and send her 100% of the money they made while she moved to Mexico with her family. also, they had to agree to work for her for a minimum of 10 years. thankfully, none of them took her up on this insane offer
@@cdw2468 She does explain in her tiktoks that she had bad tattoos before so she was willing to spend a lot of money especially since it was her biggest tattoo yet and that she also has social anxiety which led to her making the $1500 decision over zoom and she thought it was contributing to the price of the tattoo but then you can see when she’s communicating by email she more easily stands up for herself

So my petty ass would go and print that in every item possible and sell it as merch to recover my money and piss off that scam artist lol
been looking into tattoo artists in my area for a while to get my first tattoo and this actually alleviated a lot of anxiety around that because i can say "well. whoever i go with probably won't be as bad as this".
Ah yes, sales tactics 101: Don't establish a yes or no sale, establish it as choice with 3 different price points so they think about the options for buying and not the option of walking away.
saying you shouldn't publicly display people's info on social media is different when it's their business, if they do stuff like this the business should absolutely be affected.
My artist and the studio she works for has a mandatory $100 deposit which goes toward your tattoo. The most I’ve paid is $500 for a tattoo which was a full colour, large piece on my thigh and the amount was with a tip included. This is bs and exploitation of customers
Having only a limited option of revision on a tattoo design is INSANE. Oh my god. Like what are you gonna do if she only paid for 3 and suggested a 4th one ? You're gonna say "No I don't want to do that" and force her to get the tattoo ?? Like obviously she's gonna leave. Who's gonna go "oh well I guess that one random tattoo artist used a veto so I'm gonna have to put up with the vision THEY want on MY body". This is her body. She decides. That's non-negotiable.
i've heard of tattoo artists who undervalue their work, like every artists, but this is a crazy case of way over value-ing. i saw a video from a tattoo artist explaining that the model this person was following, while pricey, the guy in the video who applied it does very intricate and involved designs, like huge detailed pieces, so there is some justification there for paying for a design, because he takes so much time and care on them. this lady did not understand that part, where you have to actually communicate with the client and do the work they pay you for
i live in the tri-city area where this went down. i remember an artist i followed shared the ig story screenshot of this client’s id (i thought it was a bit much but understood the motivation to protect one’s community). for comparison i got two sketches from an artist in the area for a hand-sized tattoo and payed around $160 including tip. local studios are either taking full advantage of the local scandal for advertising or completely quiet about it, since they were associates.
Design fees from tattooists who are also artists isn’t common where I live, however traditional ways/flash sheets/commissioning art from another artist/etc is also common, as well as artists who don’t generally create labor intensive pieces for clients at all. For my most elaborate tattoo I paid about 100$ extra to get the art done by my artist, which also covered the consultation , which also went towards my deposit iirc. It was v collaborative & i had multiple opportunities to make changes. Edit: this also included the rights to tattoo the artists’ design even with another artist iirc, in most cases. Ie if they were to design something you love but then moved away, that design is yours to use if you want to get another tattooist to do it; but the artist has still been paid for their labor & creativity. I thought that made sense tbh :p
yeah $100 for the artist to do the sketch is pretty standard where i am, mayyybe on the high end by a bit. but thats just if you want a custom one, if not, there's no fee
@@GrayYeonWannabe yup, I was working w a really experienced and talented artist who’s also pretty in demand - *in seattle*. I definitely feel i got my moneys worth tho I did pay extra!
I think this could b confusing if u haven’t done custom sittings/projects, if you walk in or do an appointment w/o consultation uou should NOT be expected to pay for a sketch, consultation, etc. If you’re getting a custom/large piece, it depends on the artist, but you’re probably going to have at least a deposit, often times if you don’t decide to get it there’s then a small consultation fee. I got my first tattoo today (yay!) and she (my artist) was such a joy to work with. Even with the natural pain of tattooing, it was such a pleasant experience. I couldn’t imagine having my first tattoo go the way it did for the person who got scammed. It’s incredibly important that a tattoo artist isn’t malicious like the one artist and my heart goes out to her.
Learning about this from this video and shocked bc I've had a similar experience. My deposit was only $200-$300, but I told the artist a bunch of specifics on what I wanted; the head -- just the head -- of an albino raven, really emphasizing the red eye, with a chrysanthemum to frame it, on my hip. Booked my appointment a month in advance, but made sure to ask him if I'll be able to see the sketch beforehand, and he's like "yea of course". A week out from my appointment and I've heard nothing so I ask him how it's going, he says sorry he's been busy but he's working on it. He also tells me he "can't really draw chrysanthemums" and asks if I'll take a rose instead. I begrudgingly agree. Three days out from the appointment I'm nervous and ask again, he says he hasn't started. I told him it's really important to me that I see the design beforehand, he tells me a big concern of his is having his art stolen and done by another tattoo artist. He also says that it's industry standard that most artists design their tattoos the night before the appointment. Sounds completely wrong but ?? Okay ?? So I ask him to send me the sketch the night before then Morning of the appointment, I've received nothing. I text him that I've warned him over and over that I need to see the drawing first and he never delivered so I'll be cancelling. He complains that he usually draws his tattoos the morning of the appointment and that it was unusual for me to want to see it beforehand. I'm totally skeptical that he's even drawn anything. I remind him I paid a deposit and ask if I can even see what he was working on. He sends me a sketch of a fuck-off giant rose, with a tiny, full bodied raven above it, wings outstretched. "Literally nothing like what I asked for but thanks I guess"
As someone with a brother with a schizoeffective disorder that LOVES tattoos, this scares me. I couldn’t imagine how distraught he would be if he was put into the same scenario some of these people were put into. It is ridiculous the lengths that people will go through to take advantage of vulnerable people.
Heya! I also have schizoaffective disorder and it's really heartwarming to see someone care about a family member with the disorder when so many people can be awful about it. Just wanted to let you know that you seem like a lovely sibling.
I went to one of the most expensive tattoo studios in toronto (it has the most awards too i believe so thats how i justified the price) and wowwyy wow wow didnt pay even almost this much !!! I honestly wouldnt even have paid the consultation fee. Thats the point i would have walked away. Hope she ended up getting a tattoo she liked!
Love the perspective you bring to these dramas. I’m currently apprenticing as a tattoo artists and the whole design fee thing is a new payment technique? I guess to help cover the cost of making designs. It’s a lot of time and unfortunately money coming up with designs for clients and that time is traditionally not covered between the deposit, the equipment, the time, and the actual time tattooing which leaves you often in a place where you did a lot of free work and the client can easily leave you in the lurch. The industry is changing dramatically and rapidly and people I think are trying to take advantage of that, or trying to shape it with good intentions in the way they think it should go. Art and money is also a weird space to navigate but that’s a whole other thing. Tattooing is a Wild West right now. With no consistency in mentorship’s, licensing, standards in general, lots of traditional teaching styles are being challenged and changed (for the better overall). tattooing is a collaborative art process and the client is a part of the art, not an obstacle for the artist to get what they want out of them. That much money up front even from the top most artists is bewildering to me, and it sucks how often artists are scammed but then you have these shittheads scamming people making life hard for the rest of the community!
7:58 I'm not a tattoo artist. But if I saw those two pics of what type of fox this person wanted, I would assume it would've been a downward facing fox with the tail visible. Because THAT'S WHAT THE PICS SHOW. I'm convinced the artist didn't even look at the inspiration pictures, cause it's clear as day that that is what the person wanted. Edit: Wth I don't understand the artist remarks about the reference foxes "taking a shit." They literally look like they're running. If she had questions about what she wanted the fox's stance to be, the artist should've asked. Since it seems like nobody else has had the issue of seeing what she wanted
Deposits are to hold spots because people don’t like to show up sometimes. My shop never charges more than $100 for a deposit. I usually only charge $50. That way we make back at least some gas money after someone has wasted our time. The deposit is always suppose to go toward the final price if they do show up though………
I might have anxiety, but holy shit I don't care how much interacting with strangers scares me, if I saw that 1k deposit I would've ghosted them so fast then blocked them just in case. I feel so bad for the victims wtf the tattoo artist gaslighted one of them by telling them they didn't ask for something when they did and acted all insulted about it, and one got doxxed and got the police calling her??? jfc
My favorite part about your videos is that you never edit out your cat. Like in a video I watched recently, your cat hopped up on your desk and you were chill with them being in frame and were brushing them while you talked. Genuinely made me smile
Yes I love this so much. I wish people would just let their animals be but instead with other creators I usually get footage left in of them telling their animal out of frame to be quiet or them apologizing if their mic picks up the snoring of the dog. Like just leave the animals be or edit out you telling them to be quiet lol.
i just got my first tattoo done by a reputable artist. deposit was $30. took an hour (maybe 5" x 5") and cost me $150 or so? just paid an even $200 and gave her the rest as tip. and i thought that was pretty damn cheap for a tattoo. i would absolutely never even consider a $100 consultation fee lmao i dmed my artist on instagram and a month later got my tattoo
I had a very popular artist in my area do my first tattoo. I put down 80 to reserve his time, but he did about 5 different edits we talked like 3 times and that 80 was part of the 560 my final piece cost.
Im only 5 minutes into the video and I am already shocked and disgusted at the pricing. I have over 60hrs in the tattoo chair with professionals who do amazing work and have *never* seen anything like that. I am beyond disgusted by those fees. To have your client paying out of a minimum of $1780 before they even see a design is insane.
I'm literally watching this while walking on campus and my jaw is on the ground, the HORROR. Also there's tons of tattoo artists who only work with original designs and colab very closely with the client, and it's amazing and not scammy like this, I've had the experience and it's lovely
I have quite a few large tattoos. And gotten them from multiple shops as I followed my artist from place to place through their career. I have honestly never even heard of a pricing structure like that. The only thing even comparable I’ve experienced is a deposit fee required for them to start designing the tattoo after consultation. I’ve also seen artists that have minimum size/pricing requirements for clients. For example one girl will only book whole day appointments (meaning a minimum of $1,000.00 sessions) which I thought was wild but that’s nothing compared to this.
That is wild! The guy that does mine charges new clients 50 bucks for a consultation to meet you and get everyone onboard then he'll do the drawing once you leave. When you come back to get the tattoo the 50 goes toward the cost of the tattoo. It's basically just to cut down on people asking for tattoos then not showing back up to get them done.
I get charging people for sketches to prevent people from taking your work to a flash shop, but if you do that you should take that price off the price of the tattoo.
Honestly WILD to me that the scam artist doxxed a client and had her banned from every artist in the city when she didn’t give her another 1900 dollars like why were other shops also doxxing the client as well that’s so baffling like you would think that the other artists would know who she is and not side with her.
i personally think that scammers of all kinds should have their business and face out there bc this lady was scamming innocent people out of THOUSANDS which in inaccessible. especially if they’re doxxing their customers for not wanting to pay these outrages fees that aren’t transparent upfront. i hope the customers these people have scammed can get the proper body art they deserve
this is so strange. Im honestly curious how many people paid these fees🧐 ive never even heard of a “design fee.” ive also never seen a sketch before the appointment.
the idea that you have to pay extra to see the design you're putting on your body forever?? is this artist literally saying "well if it's too expensive you could have just shown up and got whatever I drew" like??
That's so weird as well cause realistically it's advertising your paying for. Not everywhere but modified people where I'm from tend to be loyal to a certain place or artist. They will be very defensive over their work and get frustrated when you arnt treating it right cause its reflecting poorly on them. It's gonna be expected that you'll talk about it and anyone who wants a modification will ask where you got yours. So it's extra weird that an artist would act like a peice of advertising they're getting payed for is something they should have ultimate control over
Sometimes artists really take the deposit and walk it’s sad. I had an artist I really like and ordered a commission, paid half (I actually paid a little more) and then got a sketch back. The sketch ignored some things I asked for so I nicely repeated some of the stuff while saying I like the sketch (because I still did) and then they never responded. So obviously I never paid the rest but damn that sucked. Luckily it wasn’t much money.

Yes, exactly. People are fucking crazy, you can't just do that to somebody, even if they have wronged you.

@Violet
I totally agree.
What do you mean? You're forced to get the $10 tattoo? That sounds illegal

I’ve only done one or two art commissions- they’re giving my their money- I want them to get what they’re paying for
I've seen cases where there are limited times person can change design then they're taking some fee's, it's because of amount of time person takes to fix the design. I can understand it, since having to fix stuff 15 times can be annoying if client isn't specific.

She's tattooing people and straight up lying and misrepresenting what she's doing to them. another crazy thing about this situation is that multiple people came forward saying they asked to apprentice with this tattoo artist and she told them that they could either pay her $10,000 to get a shop tour and learn the basics of tattoing, or they could be her apprentice for free, but they would have to run the shop completely by themselves and do all of the work and send her 100% of the money they made while she moved to Mexico with her family. also, they had to agree to work for her for a minimum of 10 years. thankfully, none of them took her up on this insane offer

i've heard of tattoo artists who undervalue their work, like every artists, but this is a crazy case of way over value-ing. i saw a video from a tattoo artist explaining that the model this person was following, while pricey, the guy in the video who applied it does very intricate and involved designs, like huge detailed pieces, so there is some justification there for paying for a design, because he takes so much time and care on them. this lady did not understand that part, where you have to actually communicate with the client and do the work they pay you for
The problem here is that Nick didnt even get into the fact that the artist stole and traced tons of her sketches and art work. Like it gets worse.
Where do we find more on this?
i live in the tri-city area where this went down. i remember an artist i followed shared the ig story screenshot of this client’s id (i thought it was a bit much but understood the motivation to protect one’s community). for comparison i got two sketches from an artist in the area for a hand-sized tattoo and payed around $160 including tip. local studios are either taking full advantage of the local scandal for advertising or completely quiet about it, since they were associates.
so many gates and yet not a single fence in sight...
I’ll be seated despite not knowing anything about the situation
Yeah thats definitely fair
I think this could b confusing if u haven’t done custom sittings/projects, if you walk in or do an appointment w/o consultation uou should NOT be expected to pay for a sketch, consultation, etc. If you’re getting a custom/large piece, it depends on the artist, but you’re probably going to have at least a deposit, often times if you don’t decide to get it there’s then a small consultation fee. But the lady in the vid is soooo out of line even w it being custom
This is what I needed , the only person I wanted to see cover this topic😂
this is the best tea channel on youtube
about time the tiktok drama guy finally got on tattoogate
Lmao the artist lecturing her about fox anatomy and then having the audacity to say 'I think what your're wanting is exactly the opposite of what you're telling me rn ☠☠☠
It would be so hard to get a tattoo from someone you had a shitty interaction with. I would remember that every time I looked at it!
Yeah, Lindsay Joseph the tattoo artist is more like a scammer than an artist. She also traced the 1st design she made from ANOTHER ARTIST.
it holds people accountable, im all for that man
Do you mean the prices?
@@jemuzu3065 no sorry i should have clarified. I meant the idea of anybody posting to social media and to put someone, who is doing a bad thing, on blast is good for accountability. I think thats good that we can collectively agree on bad/scammy behaviors
Okay ?? So I ask him to send me the sketch the night before then
Morning of the appointment, I've received nothing.
Oh wow, did you get the deposit back? I hope you got the tattoo you wanted from another artist!
@@slytheroineq8868 no on both fronts unfortunately 😓
As someone with a brother with a schizoeffective disorder that LOVES tattoos, this scares me. I couldn’t imagine how distraught he would be if he was put into the same scenario some of these people were put into. It is ridiculous the lengths that people will go through to take advantage of vulnerable people.
Heya! I also have schizoaffective disorder and it's really heartwarming to see someone care about a family member with the disorder when so many people can be awful about it. Just wanted to let you know that you seem like a lovely sibling.
i missed babmi's shouts while you were away lol. the boys are back together
i forgot what it was like to make videos around him

You are the tiktok drama commentator, stop fighting it
I might have anxiety, but holy shit I don't care how much interacting with strangers scares me, if I saw that 1k deposit I would've ghosted them so fast then blocked them just in case. I feel so bad for the victims wtf the tattoo artist gaslighted one of them by telling them they didn't ask for something when they did and acted all insulted about it, and one got doxxed and got the police calling her??? jfc
She needs to take this person to small claims court.
they gotta go to court that’s insane
This is why I am thankful to be an artist and make my own sketches.
I got a sleeve from the ankle to the knee that costed 600. This prices are bananas
As a person with two full color sleeves as well as lots of social anxiety… this is my worst nightmare.
For example one girl will only book whole day appointments (meaning a minimum of $1,000.00 sessions) which I thought was wild but that’s nothing compared to this.
those fees are insane
Now this is what I call an awesome video
woah Dev Lemons woah!!!!!!!!!
the idea that you have to pay extra to see the design you're putting on your body forever?? is this artist literally saying "well if it's too expensive you could have just shown up and got whatever I drew" like??
That's so weird as well cause realistically it's advertising your paying for. Not everywhere but modified people where I'm from tend to be loyal to a certain place or artist. They will be very defensive over their work and get frustrated when you arnt treating it right cause its reflecting poorly on them. It's gonna be expected that you'll talk about it and anyone who wants a modification will ask where you got yours. So it's extra weird that an artist would act like a peice of advertising they're getting payed for is something they should have ultimate control over
$6000 is twice what i’m saving up for a powered wheelchair wtaf this girl got big scammed
