This is an excellent instructional video and I assembled the daybed much faster watching this than I would have following the IKEA instructions. It makes such a difference seeing exactly where each part fits. Your a star.

OH MY GOD!!!! I JUST NOTICED WHAT I DID WRONG!!!! Thank you for this video, i swear i watched it 15x now and just noticed that i placed the front metal bracket of the trundle in the same position as the back and i see you have it flipped. this would explain why the wood is too high and not allowing me to pull out the trundle well!!! THIS VIDEO IS A GODSEND! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
I just read your comment and it helped me! I had bought a used bed, with trundle, drawers all put together. We put the upper bed together. The trundle would not open or close properly, very difficult and the entire bed would move! The front rail on trundle needed to be reversed, lowering it, allowing it to work properly. Your comment and watching the video again helped. Thanks!

Awesome video! I just got done watching this as well as putting the bed together. For anybody having issues with the drawers. Move the bracket up one hole closer to the front face of the drawer. My first shelf I put the sliders more towards the rear of the drawer and they would only go about 5/8 of the way into the bed. Great information here to bounce back and forth between the instructions. I appreciate it!

Great video. You saved my life!! Ikea should pay you to do this for them, and frankly, it's an insult that their instructions are so vague sometimes. By far the worst part of putting together their furniture is that they don't separate screws and accessories into properly labeled bags that are keyed to the instructions, and that they don't label the actual components. It would not take a lot for them to make putting their furniture together easier and less error prone.

I was having such a difficult time with this little day bed, lol not as in I couldn't build it but it was a bit of a pain in the butt. Then I found your video and it was just so basic and easy to follow. Great work and thank you!
Took a good few hours and that's with most of it assembled as I bought it from someone. The difficulty was, I didn't get to see how it was disassembled, had to assemble it alone and it didn't fit horizontally in the room as I originally wanted it in so had to rotate it. I'm also 5ft 0 and some of these parts get very heavy when they're part assembled. When I did it, you couldn't assemble it with it flat on the floor like in the video because the dowels just wouldn't line up. It needed to be raised slightly so I put something underneath it. In the end, it was easiest assembling the sides and back upright and with a small table underneath holding the back part up. Not as safe I would have liked but wouldn't work any other way. After that obstacle, the rest was pretty straightforward. Wouldn't have been able to do it without this video. Thank you!!!!!!!!! Now I've got a bed (almost) ready in my new house for my mum for Christmas. The only problem I have not solved is, the bottom slats are much lower than the top when closed. It's not how it shows in the picture. I followed the instructions just the same but somehow it doesn't line up. This makes it hard to push in or pull out and the mattresses would not be at the same level. Wish I knew what was wrong!

The instructions were very good and better than the official Ikea manual, which to be honest is very difficult to understand. In the end I had this complete within 4 hours.
Beautiful. The slat part is tricky on the main frame.. the back part of slat goes above the frame and front part of slat goes under the metal frame.. watched your video repeatedly until I finished my bed.. 😅 thanks 🙏🏽
Excellent tutorial. Followed along with this video and the printed instructions and had this bed built all by myself in about two and a half hours. The process in this video is slightly different from the IKEA instructions - follow the video! Much easier assembly especially if you have limited space to build the bed.
I've never in my life put together anything because I'm an only girl. I have 4 brothers who have put everything together for me, but today I put my daughter's bed together with her help and this video. I have other items that need to be built. I'm coming back to this channel!
Thank you for this. I recently bought my bed but I noticed whenever I put the second mattress on, the whole frame caved in. As I can see here, there is some form of a support bar. It must’ve been forgotten 😅
