The US struggled to perform against T&T. Gregg will really need to get it together to get something out of the Uruguay match.

I really hope this is the tournament that gives Greg the boot. I don’t want U.S to underperform at all but man I’ll take anything that means Greg is out
They’ll never fire him given all the nepotism in that organization. The only chance would be if he were to quit on his own
It’s not just Gregg, it’s the board that hired him and changed the direction of our national teams.
I’ll take going 0-3 in group stage if it means Berhalter is gone.
@@RickyRicardo84agreed. Klinsmann for example got fired from 2 important matches resulted in a LOSS. This tournament is BIG and a loss has weights to the program. $ talk ya know!

Uruguay wins this matchup 7/10 with Bielsa v Berhalter. No confidence Berhalter can get this team to punch above its weight.
I don’t get why the USMNT dont hire an English coach ?? Why American coaches that don’t have the experience in high stakes high pressure games? I get wanting to have one of our own lead the team deep into the tournament but we also have to be realistic here.

Brazil hasn't had a great team for 22 years. The divide between Europe and South America is huge.
They gotta bring in Morris and Nagbe to solidify the midfield for depth. Good players and they need to check out Brian White from Vancouver, Gyazi Zardes, and Brandon Vazquez. Just to give forward depth.
This is such a clinic in BS it's amazing.
Anybody else bothered that the team plays so many of its games at home for money purposes? Personally, it bothers me because we are terrible away from home and our players are far too comfortable playing at home.
Good thing then that both the next Copa America and World Cup are at home. We don't really have to worry about our poor road form until after 2026.
Most are home games are road games
USA is only ranked as high as it is because it mostly plays home games. If they played 50% of their games elsewhere they would be ranked in the 80s - 100 range.
Let’s not forget that the USMNT finished second place in the 2009 Confederations Cup!! Anything can happen!
The fact US Soccer could of had Bielsa as their coach but decided to stay with Gregg Berhalter because their maybe a language barrier after we brought Leeds out of the championship to the premier league baffles me!!! Uruguay is gonna smash the US.
Having a great coach does not guarantee your success in the field of play. Bielsa elected Uruguay because of the amazing talented Uruguayan players in their team.
@@MegaMichigandernot so sure about that reasons. Bielsa usually picks teams based on a lot more reasons (support of the crowd, philosophy of the board of directors, training facilitys, etc). His last post was Leeds, a second division team.
But of course there are several reasons for a DT of the stature of Mr. Bielsa to pick Uruguay. I only mentioned the one that appeared to me to be the one with the most relevance. We must also consider the fact that Uruguayans and Argentinians have a very similar culture (almost identical)
@@MegaMichigander certainly. Also he is coaching at 3 hour from his own home. Last 20 years he was in another continent.

Brazil is not winning this Copa America and won’t win their group. Even if Ancelotti becomes their manager who is he going to manage to get them to win it all after just completing a long tiring season for Real Madrid. Highly doubt Brazil is winning this Copa tournament. I see Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, and maybe USA as the 4th team most likely
Uruguay will win its 16th Copa America

Get rid of Berhalter if the USMNT is to make any meaningful progress!
Doesn’t matter who the manager is when the players are complete 🗑
As a México fan, I really think USMNT should’ve kept BJ Callaghan as the coach. The way he had the USA team playing against Mexico in the Nations league was phenomenal. It’s kind of like he said, go out there and do what you do best.
I won’t count his Gold Cup run because he didn’t have the A team.
Maybe Gregg proves me wrong and he does well, but I think the US should pick a coach that has a more offensive style of play as I think that suits their players a lot more
Berhalter has dominated Mexico. I don’t believe that we have lost to the Mexicans under Berhalter. He beat the El tri A squad (with injuries) with the USMNT B squad. With either coach
USA Soccer > Mexico Fútbol
Everyone in Mexico knows and fears this truth but they will accept it.

@@latinoheateddieguerrero7644 totally agree. I don’t think there’s any denying that USMNT is in a way better state than Mexico. But don’t you think BJ had the best performance against Mexico than any from Gregg? He had us frustrated and I honestly thought we were going to lose closer to 4/5 to nothing
With Berhalter at the helm I'm worried. Very worried.
People don’t have anything to offer but blaming the coach.
USA is in Group C with Panama, Uruguay and Bolivia.
It’s a fair draw for UsA
Exactly, that's what we are saying that the game has evolved so much, big names don't matter anymore, just imagine how they wope Argentina lately. All the countries nowadays and players wana get pay too.
What? Argentina is still a power house! Lately Argentina has lost only one game and to another very talented South American team.
I would like to point out that Mexico has twice finished in second place (1993, 2001), and three times finished in third place (1997, 1999, 2007) in Copa America. USA has only gone as far as fourth place in Copa America.
A fart to USA in Copa America.
If the USA can’t get pass this draw. What’s the use of going to the World Cup. We have players to do the job
but if they played like they did the last game. Lol. No heart in that game. I hope I can see passion
ya should face bolivia in denver
Considering that the US didn't belong in Pot 1, any Pot 2 team would be a major challenge.
Peru would have been relatively easy. They can't score goals and depend on Gallese to make one miracle save after another just to stay in games. Based on current form, Peru didn't really deserve to be in Pot 2 over any of the teams in Pot 3.
@@donviajero2580that because Reynoso doesn't know jacksh!t on coaching all Peruvians know that using a Peruvian coach for national team sucks but with a Uruguay/Argentina/Brazil coach they know what to do

USA is going to have the easiest path to making it. Uruguay should only be there problem. But we can win but odds, probably 1 in 4 of winning. They are gonna peak, as they play Uruguay.
Brazil is Brazil.. end of story.. When Brazil comes to a tournament weak, that when they win.
yall hate on me way too much.
Yes.
US fans calling for failure in this tourney so GGG gets fired imo is a HORRIBLE take! We need to see this generation mentally buckle down and fight through adversity. a 0-0 draw against England in the WC and defeating Mexico's current generation is not a signature win like we saw during the Dempsey and Donovan years. I 1 million percent agree that we need to have a coach more tactically capable than GGG, but at some point the players are the ones on the pitch and we have the talent in this generation to overperform and they still have yet to do it. Copa 2024 is prime opportunity for these men to make their statement! LFG US!!! I wanna see our boys come out and play against this Uruguay team with 6points in the bank and end the group with 9 points and make a huge statement. What a mentality builder it would be going into the knockout rounds of this tourney.
Signature loss has more affect to the program direction as a whole than signature victory. It always been the case. Look at Arenas, Bradley, Klinsmann terms.
The USMNT needs to be tested (at home). I love our group and who could be potentially waiting if we get out of the group.
Guys too much bs, uruguay and the us get through.
Can’t count out Bolivia as a threat either haha this convo is pointless
Panama beat them at Gold Cup 😂
Uruguay is going to destroy this arrogant US team.
Every time people claim that a big team or powerhouse is going to “destroy” the USMNT , It rarely happens. Historically for the most part those games are closer than a “beat down” that people love to claim.
@@eddiegonzalez638 exactly people keep showing their ignorance and stupidity

The U.S. in the past have played close matches whether draw, loss or won against powerhouses in football. For example, U.S. beat Spain 2-0 in the 2009 confederation cup (arguably the best team at that time having won two euros and the Worldcup consecutively) 2014 WC match against Portugal, 1995 copa America against Argentina 3-0 win, 2002 World Cup against Portugal winning 3-2 , England WC match last year. That’s just a few examples, and there’s more samples if you do your research.
People think it’s always going to be 5,6,7 - nil and it never happens. Yes anyone can get a beat down any day example Brazil lost to Germany 2014 WC) however, Historically the U.S. plays pretty well against the bigger teams and the matches are closer than what people want to believe. no lies in that statement.

The USA will bow out against Brazil or Colombia in the QF. Canada, despite how screwed up their federation is right now, has a better chance of reaching the SFs than the USA, as the QF competitor will be weaker. My prediction is that neither the USA nor Mexico will go further than Canada in the next Copa America based on this draw.

Disagree on the home team comments. The venues for the USMNT group stage games were picked deliberately to maximize the home advantage. They’d never pick Miami for a US game for that reason.
None of our opponents in the group stage have large fan bases in the US, so it probably didn't matter much where they played.
