A lot of wasted space under charge port and top speakers that could have been used for larger speakers, there are quite a few big phones with big batteries but tiny no bass speakers, the two speakers from a Sonim XP8 would fit nicely in those spots with the waterproof mesh Sonim & Kyocera use over the original speakers are sealed to and like sonim & kyocera the entire inside of the phone will be the speakers enclosure/box, My XP8 is smaller than this phone but with PowerAmp music player I adjusted the EQ and turned the bass up and it has the best speakers with full mids & bass sound of any phone I've had or seen in person. If I can find this phone used for a decent price I am going to try this speakers swap, then this phone would be truly great, physical return home & recent keys would have been better too, I hate all the rugged phone makers now use on screen buttons, it just takes away from the rugged look.
Yep but it's not always just the space for the speakers, it's cost as well. With better speakers comes higher cost and they try cut costs on this to make them affordable for more people. Also with better speakers, sometimes you need better audio dac or controller chips, which also cost more money to implement on the board itself which requires higher level of engineering etc. I'm not an expert in the audio field but I'm just going off what I've seen.
@@PBKreviews Yeah, guess your right, and after looking closer each speaker has three wires where the sonim has two each, so it wouldn't even be straight forward wiring, I am far from an expert, I am 45 years old and have been taking things apart since I was a kid and sometimes get Ideas that look dooable but because of things I don't really understand really won't, Thanks for reply, I never even thought of controller or anything.
yup, you're welcome. Yeah I myself am not an electrical engineer nor too verse in what every chip and controller does or how to replace them but yeah with phones, it's not usually just a hardware change. most of the time it's also controller chips on the boards and software modifications as well.

Hello, I would like to know if you can disassemble the parts of the two left and right plastic sides of the phone, the parts where the volume buttons, Sim, off and on are located, just to exchange for a healthy replacement without compromising other parts without removing the screen and only unscrewing the two sides or preventing the phone from turning on without damaging the phone, and of course only to repair or change that part of the phone to a healthy replacement, the lead-colored part that surrounds the buttons?
Hi. Thanks for the awesome video ❤️. Hereafter in the upcoming teardown videos Can you please tell the OEM brands that is used in the parts like display ram rom battery and soc by voice, for example " The display panel used is a LG panel or Samsung panel" like that. Please do this. Thanks in advance.
Thanks. The parts I am familiar with, or which are available to see, I mention usually. But I don't have access to or know where every component is from or made. Also on these phones the RAM and ROM as well as processor are covered by a non removable shield which is soldered to the main board so I am not able to show those parts. The phones which are visible or have a removable shield, I show it :).
Perhaps, but I don't think people would get them for the same purpose, with the VMax being much newer, more powerful, having a bigger battery, etc Though thanks for sharing this information
@@Kurotama_STR durability and repairability are just as important as battery capacity on a device that is marketed as durable, glue is an absolutely bullshit way of putting a phone together when screws and gaskets can do the same job, allow the device to be dismantled and repaired, and adds maybe 10c per phone in manufacturing costs (which is a drop in the ocean for a $600+ phone) and on top of that, nets you a lot of good PR with your customers, sustainability organisations, and many UA-camrs Adding a faster CPU and bigger battery doesn't prevent the company from not using permanent adhesives to hold their device together
@@mwbgaming28 I never denied that, my point is just that what you said isn't enough to justify getting an armor 13 over a VMax. But I do wish to see smarter builds in more smartphones. Glue shouldn't be used at all imo. Doesn't need to be.
@@Kurotama_STR I switched from a PA13 to a V MAX because of the faster CPU, but it definitely feels like I've been sucker punched when I worked out that the phone is borderline unrepairable
Not sure, its possible you have some debris obstructing the small hole that leads sound to the mic. Try clearing it out with a small brush like a tooth brush n see if it helps.
How the hell is this waterproof? I didn't see any silicone protecting the phone. If the screen is not glued properly, water will enter under the screen
I don't know bro. I just got it a week ago and it's awesome underwater. The only thing is when I dropped it, I basically dropped a brick😂. It was just 3 feet underwater though.
I wish my school projects were this durable I made a head pair of headphones then went remade them with better materials from the junkyard my grandma calls her backyard and the only thing protecting them from getting fucked up was the metal hanger wires I used for the strap and a lot of electrical tape😅 they get it out of my head like beat from jsrf and I wore them for a year straight at school
was your camera lens damaged/cracked or broken? Since condensation can get through if that is the case. If not you can reach out to Doogee and see what they can do for you. Might be covered under warranty if there is no physical damage.
Hi, even with heating, its incredibly difficult to pry the screen of this phone. There is a strong chance of breaking the glass or damaging it since the glue is so strong. So I don't think without any heat, it would be any easier to do.
This thing is not just a phone.
With 570g weight, it can also be used as a throwing weapon.😄
lol yup
Actually 540 grams.
Hello sir ,may I ask you, after you teardown both of them, which one better in terms of build quality between doogee v max vs unihertz tank ?
EXCELENTE VIDEO, MUCHAS GRACIAS
Thanks, and you're welcome 😃
Reminds me a lot of the Nokia 1520. Those are fun and easy to fix. You can tear one down and rebuild it within minutes

I need to replace the fingerprint reader on my doogee v20. I already have the part is this a difficult repair?
Can you offer any advice? 😊
It will require prying the screen off which is difficult and will pose a high chance of damaging the screen.

can someone tell me the sizes of the battery and thickness, im doing a custom phone

What adhesive do you use?
for this phone b7000 adhesive glue

What temperature to unglue the display?

Yeah you can take off the metal plates on either side of the phone along with the buttons to replace without compromising anything.

Ulefone power armor 13 is built to a much higher standard, it's screwed together and uses real gaskets instead of glue
