Hi Curtis I missed your Q&A
I wanted to let you know I'm 75 and my a/c went out .. My condenser moter went . So I changed the motor 2 capacitors and a contactor.
While it was down cleaned the coil and took out the blower motor and cleaned it and everything is working great.
Thank you so much for your videos they have saved me thousands and I impressed my wife.

Sorry I missed the Q&A, I've got a R 22 system. Air Handler 1983 Rheem. 2010 Payne Heat Pump. My N-coil has a TXV on it. Retired Steamfitter, HVACR since 1970. I noticed a few bubbles in my Sporlan sight glass. I'd like to clear that sight glass. Glad I retired in 2012, what Refrigerant would you recommend. This is totally crazy, what you tradesmen are going through on this refrigerant.

300.5(D)(1) Emerging from Grade. Direct-buried conductors and cables emerging from grade and specified in columns 1 and 4 of Table 300.5 shall be protected by enclosures or race-ways extending from the minimum cover distance below grade required by 300.5(A) to a point at least 2.5 m (8 ft) above finished grade. In no case shall the protection be required to exceed 450 mm (18 in.) below finished grade.'
If you change out another DISCONNECT boss, please keep this NEC in mind. Leaving any exposed wire below 8' is dangerous. Keep up the good work.

You said you would like being an electrician. I’m an electrician and would rather be a hvac guy to be honest. Love watching your videos. I think you have some of the best edited videos from any other hvac tech channels. You definitely got a promising future in youtube

Sorry I was called to dinner and missed the live, but I still enjoyed the video. It was more enjoyable than your earlier Trane frustration. They seem determined to make HVAC more difficult than it needs to be.
When I bought a couple of spare capacitors for our new Goodman (sorry, it's what we were sold before I knew better), I made sure to get Made in USA.

Please explain how to charge an HVAC system using sub-cooling.

    • @adamrspears1981
      @adamrspears1981 14 днів тому +1

First make sure the metering device is a TXV.
If it is, hook up your gauges.
Let the system run for 15 minutes.
Then look at your condensing temperature.
Then get the liquid line temperature outside by the outdoor unit. If there's a filter drier outside on the Liquid Line, get your line temp downstream from (after) the drier.
Find the difference of the 2 temps.
Next check the manufacturer's charging chart to find your Target subcooling.
If your subcooling is low, add refrigerant & leak search the system.
If your subcooling is high, recover refrigerant until you meet your target.
