There must be a difference between hoarders and slobs. That place *_definitely_* fit in the slob category!😗
I like the famous response from the home dweller. How long has this filter been out? "A couple of days" 😆
May not want to marry yourself to this one Curtis. 👍👍🇨🇦
Burn pile ✔ Chicken wire ✔ Discarded dishwasher ✔ Wheelbarrow ✔ Crappy X-Mas Decoration ✔ The rodent bait station is funny to me. It's too messy even for rats!
The whole neighborhood looks crappy!
how about you find the location and donate ? Love guy bash what people can afford lol
It's clear they aren't changing their filter by the dirt filled in the grills. I hate when people lie. Inside was filthy dirty
They lie because they are ashamed of themselves but never try to improve their condition!
That filter grill is a sign of an extremely dirty carpet and a high amount of traffic in that place.
"We JuSt ToOk It OuT CaUsE iT wAsNt WeRkInG"
@@mattbilodeau2433 took it out in 1995
As soon as you quoted them a new system, note the account for no more service calls. They can find someone else, or give a deposit for the new system.
Mosquito breeding ground that pool ugh how people live like this is beyond me… anyway nice work as always Curtis
Thanks 👍
You have to hit those sockets with just a tiny bit of '3-n-1 oil' or those bearings with 'give you the blues' taking them off.
I think this one would call for the hazmat suit!
Man I feel your pain. I could smell it from Louisiana. It’s bad when your scared to breathe
Looks like they threw the old capacitor on the side of the condenser. Lovely. Lol
Hope you get the full change-up, but I have a feeling they'll keep limping along till it fully stops.
Not sure you'd see any payment, even if you did get the work.
What a sad shy-hole of a place. God bless you for coming back, time and time again, Curtis!

Nothing like finding a random drier
😂
@hvacguy pray for me brother the van bandits got me yesterday flr about 4k worth of tools got my fieldpiece vacuum an recovery machine. The old me wants to go hunting but i see no good coming from it just gotta chalk it up as a lose and drive on. Dont even want to file a claim cause i heard insurance will pay you out then drop you cause there is so much theft in CA
Dang. Hate to hear that
All of your customers are very lucky to have you come out. Keep up your good work. Blessings
Thanks
The best call, change out.
looks like you have a Bur on your driver there, hit it with a file so the sockets come off easier
That was some carpet. Uff.
As soon as I saw the dusty Kia Sedona, I remembered your last visit... Did you see that living room carpet?! 🤮
I cant understand how people can live so trashy. i understand not having money but it dont cost much to keep stuff clean and keep clutter under control. its just pure laziness .
Totally agree... I'd steer clear of that place.
It's not money. I serviced an old system in a trailer that was immaculate. Lady lost her husband years ago and kept the place neat as a pin. No junk anywhere. I did the work and didn't bill her. I just could not bring myself to charge her for the repair. She broke down in tears. She had pride and did her very best. I can respect that.
That's humanity man, humans are animals! Some are just more than others.
Cleaning is free😂
Sounds like contactor is buzzing was fan motor running hard to tell in video
I can see they probably can’t afford to pay for a new system could you just fix that leak and use a substitute freon to get it working with no warranty on the work maybe use that leak plug for the evaporator coil?
it a ez fix and mo 99 for replacement freon which is cheap . But that not going to happen if No est is made for it
you can be poor, but you don't have to be dirty
Repair that ! and give yourself 5 more years of headaches
Non-HVAC question: How do leaks like this occur? Fatigue? Improper soldering?
Many reasons. Poor install, cheap components, bad flaring on joints, age, vibration, unnatural disturbance, bleach on copper, the list goes on. People who want to clean their condensers with a bleach spray and a hose or pressure washer are actually damaging the system.

Thank you! In 2018 I had similar happen to my, then, 14 year old Bryant heat pump in the middle of a brutal winter. It cost a small fortune to repair. The repairman said he thought it was due to two lines rubbing together.
@awshortclips that would be vibration then and it happens alot.
The evaporator coil looks completely clogged of dirt and dust.
Was you in Gadsden at Goodyear.....looked like..😎
Hi bro from west Alabama
The capacitor still in the box was great haha!
At least they kinda of secured it up out of the way ,whenever I find those, usually, you'll take the cover off, and the box and everything will fall out
Honestly that's par for course out where I operate. More often than not you find em just sitting in there in the box. See it like this too where they don't have the proper UF CAP so they just tape in a separate fan cap jumped from common off the other. Even worse when you have all that and an aftermarket hard start shoved in there 🤣. Never found it to really be an issue other than being ugly but I still kill power before opening any high voltage appliance just in case.
I do that honestly
Nice work Curtis. Hopefully you can get a total replacement on that mess.
Good luck on that one!
WoW Curtis, that system is bad, a new system for sure 😵 Au
Just took the filter out? I just had relation with NBA Young Boy.
9:00 A Kia Borrego.
What is the psychology behind leaving the capacitor in the stupid diamond plate looking box? Think the customer is gonna get some beer and call his buddy's over on the weekend and hang around looking at it!
You do have to work in some nasty homes.
That R 22 is definitely expensive
Goodyear is the absolute worst!
SEEN a few rudd / Rheem leak same exact place but is that the only leak ??
yes with Both Coils leaking ..I used to when R 22 was less 50 - 100 - 200 bucks / 30 # Patch a lot of copper coils indoor or out ...but not so much Now days fix one a week later something pops & were The blame even tho the leaks we fixed last time held , so many disclaimers in a patch job Written in contract no way on repairs lol ..Replaces or Run ..sorry for Home owner ..is what it is tho we always hate to be bearers of Not So Good news That costs many thousands to make right
👍👍👍
why would somebody leave capacitor in the box seems it would be more likely to overheat.
Years ago all Capacitors had a rubber cap on them protecting the terminals spades.
Guess the MFG cut cost by not providing them anymore.
Talk about the lived-in look. Curtis, they must have had other techs out there as well. All the old driers and that mess of capacitors aren't your style. Looks like they paid for a completely new system, by resurrecting the old system one service call at a time.
Probably had a home warranty if I had to guess. Those usually pay for things like capacitors and deny most other things. And those guys are typically unlicensed hacks so the capacitor and wiring work is par for the course.
that thing def needs replaced
the house needs replaced bet it is a rental
What do you do with an R22 system that's low on refrigerant? Any R22 that's still around for sale costs a FORTUNE and it seems like throwing good money after bad to recharge some decrepit old monster.
There are some replacements. I had my outdoor unit replaced 8 years ago and we used R407C which is pretty affordable and there are a few other subs also.
@@bobboscarato1313 Oh yeah I see you can evacuate all the R22 and replace it with R407c with just a little loss in efficiency.
@@billmilosz My system is a bit oversized so no problem in that area.
That drier should have been removed by service tech people PICK UP AFTER YOURSELVES!!!!!!
Disgusting.... but hey. Nice car in the driveway.
take a water hose and cool down the compressor
Lovely equals clustered duck
Rule of thumb is make it look like you have not been there after you ate done
Are darn spell check
what's that electrical hum noise in this video around the ac?
That would be the contractor on its way out.
Yea that was a nice diphtheria pool everyone can use a little of that😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
How can u give a quote to repair when u don’t even know if the compressor runs or not ? Unless I missed u test running compressor somewhere.
👍👍😊😊
Why were they running the air conditioning
Because it's a Heat Pump! You could see the reversing valve and TXV outside.
But thermostat said it was 74°F right..
Can you recommend a good online hvac course?
Wish I could. There’s one associated with Auburn University, forgotten the name. But, it was around $1200
@HVACGUY awesome I'll look into it. I work in the field and with it being off-season iv pickup a 2nd job and don't have time to go in class. But thanks for the reply!
You could find them online or check with your local trade schools.
I'd have kept on driving......
Use. W d. Oil. On the tool. That what I use. Edbonjovi. Aka leakmaster plumbing
What a dump!!
I hate when customers use those filters
That return was filthy regardless.
They are the same as nothing. Lot of brands use to come with those.
They should attach those flimsy filters the the outside grille with straps..
What a dump
Running the Air Conditioner in the Middle of Winter ? 🥶 What do you suppose is in their Wallet ?🤪👎 Empty🧠as Expected.
It is a Heat Pump! that's why!
You need new screwdrivers and bits and bit holders, I think you probably made enough money to replace them by now, you use them every day, just about.
Working for folks like that you can't ever make enough money!!!
I don't know how much he makes, but he said that he makes money on rentals and insurance jobs, he can keep using the same tools, it just seems like the tools are broken down.
@@johnwalker890 It probably takes three times more work to make the same money. I never did insurance work for that reason!
Oh I'm sure it does, they want to submit paperwork and receipts, and BS, I'm not in to deal with that crap either, I use to be able to tell a customer how much I wanted after the job, now they want a price for everything, I'm glad I'm retired.
And I'm not going to crawl into a crawl space or attic space, for no amount, I know he works hard for his money, but he has a choice to do the job and take what he can, or walk away. Not talking bad about you Curtis, so don't take offense.
Nice pool, why didn’t you take a dip there 😂😂😂😂👍🦧
Wow, what a POS property, where is your HAZMAT gear??
Another hack job
