@JBsManCave i have used a pressure washer many times in the past to clean engine and never once resulted in a problem, but the vehicle has been clean and dry for a fair while, driven short drives twice daily, so never sat too long.. Its such an odd problem, cause i would have thought injector pump failure would give signs , but have read on very odd occasions the electric wries in the pump can crack/break cause they get alot of heat over there life, 18yr 340,000km

Engine ZD30 Direct Injection. When I revs high RPM, struggle to climb hill at 70km/h and can't go pass 100km/h on highway. No engine light. But when scanned, AT/CVT code (00) Throttle Sensor came up. So, replaced the Pedal Throttle sensor, Intake Throttle, MAF, AF, Intercooler, Fuel filter and placed Tillix manual boost controller. But still the same. I want to change the fuel pump but what if the problem stays? Any suggestions ?
Sounds like wire breakage. Try running some direct to pcm/ecu from the tps. First test for continuity with a beep tester or fluke. You need some pin out sketches.
If it starts but won't go above idle (dies), check the micro switch on the pedal. The little rubber insulator on the switch can stick to it and it won't release. Pull it off, and your done.
i have little different symptoms where it revs high RPM but struggle to climb hill at 70km/h and can't go pass 100km/h on highway. When the "engine light symbol" is off (meaning the pump is working again), it works normal. Any suggestion? My mechanic told me samething, replace 2nd hand engine as it takes same effort and money to replace just the pump. (and my engine oil is leaking too :( )
I am dealing with that exact situation at the moment. Can you say for sure if there was a noticeable increase in power and torque after the Fuel pump was restored and installed???
Kiran, the truck responds as it should, however it should be noted that the D22 or I should say in this case the ZD30 does not have the same kind of take off power as a D40 unless you are using 4x4. One of the sure things I saw with the refurbished pump is the fuel mileage returned. I can get around 500-550km on a tank of fuel and that is with load and AC sometimes. The other thing is I can take off without having to apply fuel. Just being in gear one and the truck starts to move. Are you thinking about changing engines?
@@JBsManCave thanks very much. I'll go the way of pump refurbishing because I'm about keeping it original. I won't swap the ZD because personally I think these engines are quite reliable compared to present day engines. I'll just repair my pump and do a 3 inch stainless steel exhause.👍👍
Not sure what you mean but from what I understand with these pumps if the computer registers an error it will close the check valve so not much fuel if any will come out.
Jon, sounds like you take good care of that vehicle. I was looking at the pump the other day and for the life of me I can't understand why they would have the computer system right next to the engine. There should be some kind of bracket to mount it away from it. I think I mentioned that in the video, but can't remember right now.
Razad, QD32 is a mechanical pump so you will not have the worry about failing computer. However, I believe there will be a power loss unless you can modify the pump. Do you have a ZD30 already?
Due to the pump's failure you are changing the engine? Keep in mind that you will go through even more cost to make the change than it will cost to fix the pump. I once had to make the same decision.

In this video, I actually show you how to test to see if the glow plugs are getting power, assuming your vehicle is a diesel, did you test that for yourself? Check my disclaimer in video.
@JBsManCave no i didn't check the glow plugs personally, but they are surely working, cause i got the engine to run a little
Hi i have a ENGINE Nissan 30zd and has failure, start good but the rpm not up 2000 what You think
Juan, did you look at the video for the tips? Bad fuel injection pumps can start well but if you are not getting the RPMs then that is a sign it may be connected to the pump. How often do you change filters and add in a diesel cleaner?
@@JBsManCave yes i look that video i have new fuel filter and line too and don't see leak but the ENGINE in idle has a vibrating like out time i don't know what happened sorry for My English
Did you do an error scan? Get the scan code: ua-cam.com/video/QyzHpMOSuwM/v-deo.html
Hi it's me again look My fuel pump give between 90 and 95% injection to the ENGINE but 40% si the correct the pump no good calibration. You know how calibrate sorry for My English thanks
VP44 pump is computer based so it would need to be set by a company capable of doing that. Usually Bosch registered.
Great video
Matthew, thank you kindly. I am from both. T&T is in the Caribbean. Where are you located?
@@JBsManCave I from Trinidad and Tobago
Matthew, cool, please make sure to Subscribe and check my other videos.
Nice one helpful
Glad it helped
Tenho um carro da mesma marca ZD30 ele acendeu check-in
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Good info..
Thanks
Engine ZD30 Direct Injection. When I revs high RPM, struggle to climb hill at 70km/h and can't go pass 100km/h on highway. No engine light. But when scanned, AT/CVT code (00) Throttle Sensor came up.
So, replaced the Pedal Throttle sensor, Intake Throttle, MAF, AF, Intercooler, Fuel filter and placed Tillix manual boost controller. But still the same.
I want to change the fuel pump but what if the problem stays?
Any suggestions ?
Venkata you have a turbo or non-turbo? How often do you change your fuel and air filters?
Did you look at the micro switch on the pedal. Not the TPS.
Hey man I'm experiencing the exact same problem, did you have any luck with other repairs or did you replace the fuel pump?
Sounds like wire breakage. Try running some direct to pcm/ecu from the tps. First test for continuity with a beep tester or fluke. You need some pin out sketches.
If it starts but won't go above idle (dies), check the micro switch on the pedal. The little rubber insulator on the switch can stick to it and it won't release. Pull it off, and your done.
Graeme, thanks for your input.
i have little different symptoms where it revs high RPM but struggle to climb hill at 70km/h and can't go pass 100km/h on highway. When the "engine light symbol" is off (meaning the pump is working again), it works normal. Any suggestion? My mechanic told me samething, replace 2nd hand engine as it takes same effort and money to replace just the pump. (and my engine oil is leaking too :( )
Chosen, the first thing I would do is to do a scan and see what your vehicle tells you: ua-cam.com/video/QyzHpMOSuwM/v-deo.html
Kiran, yes, once properly maintained the ZD30 will faithfully work for you. Please do not forget to subscribe.
I am going though same problem. Please help me
What kind of help do you need? Did you watch the whole video? All the help I can offer is in there so you can make a decision.
You from Trinidad and Tobago or Caribbean?
Yes.
Thanks
Welcome
Why there's no fuel coming out when you turn the injection pump left to right or from right to left
Not sure what you mean but from what I understand with these pumps if the computer registers an error it will close the check valve so not much fuel if any will come out.
@@JBsManCave if these is the prob what should we do?what is the cause why computer close the valve.thnks
Kenken, the video suggests what you should do.

I hearted your comment because I feel for you. That is unfortunate, did you try looking up the error codes? I have a video on how to check that.
@@JBsManCave will be when home JB
Could it be the suction control valve not letting fuel through
@@victoryboardwalk I strongly suggest to check the error code and know exactly what the engine is telling you rather than guess.
@JBsManCave yep definitely will do that first mate cheers 🍻

Fantastico. 😉
Eu quero explicar me em português.
OK no problem. I think the subtitles has the option for Portuguese.
I had my pump rebuilt in 2015. It cost me £1300 UK.
Jon, yes quite expensive. You still have the vehicle?
Yes, I’ve still got my 2002 3 litre Nissan Terrano 2. It’s a great vehicle used daily.
Jon, sounds like you take good care of that vehicle. I was looking at the pump the other day and for the life of me I can't understand why they would have the computer system right next to the engine. There should be some kind of bracket to mount it away from it. I think I mentioned that in the video, but can't remember right now.
You did mention it in the video and I remember thinking the same at the time. I do try and take care of my truck.
good
Thanks
well wish me luck
Razad, all the best to you. Feel free to return and let us know how it goes.
i feel like qd32 is d way i will go ,,, jus hav to get d money
Razad, QD32 is a mechanical pump so you will not have the worry about failing computer. However, I believe there will be a power loss unless you can modify the pump. Do you have a ZD30 already?
@@JBsManCave
Yea I have a zd30
Due to the pump's failure you are changing the engine? Keep in mind that you will go through even more cost to make the change than it will cost to fix the pump. I once had to make the same decision.
Horrible engine ⛽😭😭
Why do you say that?
@Ouch the pump or engine?
OK I don't know about vehicles lol
But you can drive... so that's not really true. ;)
Me neither
