I was a percussionist for about 12 years before I started to appreciate this kind of music. I'm not saying that's a solid number that everyone has to reach (people I know fall in love with it immediately), but that I personally had to learn a lot before I knew how to process stuff like this. While I don't spend a lot of time listening to it, my definition of music has really broadened in the past few years.
Lots of respect to have the balls to play something this abstract. Had to access a different part of my brain to listen to it 😂 but i really enjoyed it. well done guys!
I go to the same school that Josh graduated from. I enjoy hearing this type of rhythmical experimentation. Seen them in concert, and can't wait for more.
The second song made me want to punch them, I've heard other experimental music that's more immersive and less irritating. But the other two were cool.
Thank you NPR Music for making sure music like this gets exposure!

glad to see NPR appreciates contemporary art music, even if none of their listeners do...

You've won me over on some bazaar music before, NPR. However, this one is just too far out there.

In that case, I think you may have overshot with the term "supremely entertaining."
