I really like how current canon made Saw into an amazing, complex character. Even though Saw does technically originate from Legends, all of his story after Onderon originates from Canon.
I first felt he was just a throw away character but one of the few that has been made into somthing by I hate to say it Disney.

@dflowers30 agreed. It works much better for canon then it being in Legends, and all of the tie in media with that show made before Disney bought Lucasfilm should deserve to be made canon as it helps add more to the series.
The 2008 Clone Wars doesn't even fit into Legends and is only included because of...reasons.
Saw Gerrera originated from TCW, which wasn't considered EU.
1:26 Had Steela lived and joined the Rebel Alliance, she would have ensured her brother Saw wouldn't have become the very monster he fight against as his morality chain.
I think when they redesigned his character in Rogue One from Clone Wars, they wanted to sort of compare him to Darth Vader being part mechanical and lacking any type of empathy.

To this day I still wonder, how different would the partisans be if Steela Gerrera survived
If Steela survived, the Partisans wouldn’t be as radical as they were under Saw and I definitely feel like Steela would have brought the Partisans into the rebel Alliance. That’s what I believe though.
@@stealthSGMB in the end leia did manage to bring them in though it was under Benthic’s leadership
Steela was in general a little more level headed than Saw was so if she continued to be around Saw than he may not have taken it to the level that he did with her not around.
Funny, I have a feeling that if Steela lived, eventually they would've drifted apart due to a difference in ideology. Steela would've joined the greater rebel alliance, and Saw would've still broken off on his own.
Sad to see that Saw became an extremist because of his sister’s death. I wonder what she would say if she saw the guy he became.

@ThePartisanAlliancenot really the early days of the alliance were much like the empire extremely brutal to both pow's and civilians not caring what happens it wasn't until leya and Luke joined the picture that the alliance became a force of good a rebellion isn't built on the dead its built on hope and the idea of a better future that doesn't happen when you kill innocent and assassinate politicians

Onderon is a pretty underrated planet, to be honest. I really loved the Lore and story the "Tales of the Jedi" comics give it, not to mention it was AMAZING to explore the planet in KOTOR 2 (wish the online open-world game "Galaxies" would have also included the planet). Just hope they use more the planet in the future

I wonder what would have happened if Saw had entrusted Jyn to one of the less extreme rebel cells.
It may have been meeting Jyn on Jeda and seeing how apathetic she'd become that made Saw realize what he'd become.

To completely destroy your enemy you must become stronger and more ruthless then your enemy. This seems to be what Saw was about but he still had somthing left in him that kept him compassionate after he lost his sister his planet and friends and followers.
Saw was a great but morally flawed character.
Steela was Saw's heart and moral compass. Without her, Saw lost all compassion. He was an efficient tactician but he never understood that without a moral high ground the Rebellion would've been easily crushed since they were just as brutal but vastly more powerful.
Saw was a real one no 🧢
Some new updates idk if they are worth adding but Jedi Survivor seems to allude Cal and Saw have done multiple missions together over the years since they first met

Watching this video I came to the realization that Saw Gerrera is an incredibly important character throughout the whole saga. He is somehow connected to a lot of stories. Love it.

Saw was my character in Star Wars. He was always one step a head of the rebels alliance. If they would've listen to him they would've discovered the death star sooner. Wish he could've seen his dream.
