I think the keycaps are decent but I'm not the biggest fan of how some of the keys don't light evenly. I think the cuts on the lasering were kind of off. Like my O key is open which is wonky.
Yeah you usually see those slits with cheaper keycaps. I think it has to do with the molding. They are not supposed to make an enclosed shape so letters like P O D A B Q R will have slits. Glad you liked it though!

This is a good keyboard if you want to try customs or changing switches. The keycaps are bad though. I recommend this if you want RGB and hotswap. The Anne Pro or Ducky if you want a good typing experience out of the box, though both are not hotswap.
@@mainkilla I actually did not know this. I saw the listing on Drop but I did not look closer. Drop does not deliver here in the Philippines directly so it's a pain to ship it. If it's on banggood I usually default to them since it's free shpping.

So of course I had to get in black since I havent seen anyone on YT with it in black. And yes, the layout is what was making me question getting this keyboard but I had some extra cash and said why not. Do you know of any keycaps that would fit with the odd layout?

I haven't had any issues with Banggood so far. Delivery took 12 days. I bought this when the price was 80USD then they had a sale that discounted it to 60USD. At that time I asked for a discount since they haven't delivered it yet. (In some countries this is allowed by consumer laws). I didn't get a discount so feels bad :(
Well if you think about it doing it this way means they don't have to design the board. They just give you stacks of acrylic and they're good haha. So I think that saves on cost? Build quality is okay. Acrylic is not that strong compared to aluminum of course but it should be good as long as you don't drop it. There is a bit of flex which is expected especially on the middle of the board but not too concerning. Unfortunately I won't be using this as my daily driver so no way to know if it will last with daily use :(
I am not yet that familiar with TKL cases and how they fit. My guess is that it's not easy to switch it with other cases as this PCB is custom with all those LEDs.
Richard Inniss, Buy the nk65 entry edition, it has a usb in the right side, 3 pin and 5 pin compatible and it’s pretty cheap but it’s hard to get, just wait till the end of October to get one, hope I helped.
I ended up getting rid of this board, wasn't a fan. I ended up building a custom 60% and I grabbed an ID80 and built that recently. Think im set for now.
Does your keyboard have a loose plate? On other videos I saw that when they pull off the keycaps the switches comes out too. And the F5 key only has a 3 pin socket while the rest of the kb has 5?
Oh this is probably the :3ildcat video. The F5 key has 5 pins and the plate is no longer loose. There is a bit of wobble on the switch as I've shown but not to the point that the switches come off with the keycap.

couple of important points: 1. in the video, your LEDs seem to be have domes. my K87 did not and you can easily distinguish R, G and B in each LED 2. the keyboard has a fair amount of flex in it's center, but since it's easily disassembled, changing the bottom plate could fix that. 3. the english instructions that come with the k87 are incorrect, the chinese side is correct and matches this video. an additional function of Func+backspace is listed, but doesnt seem to do anything.
Yeah it has weird coverage. From what I've heard it does not cover some areas in QC. If you have family or friends that can receive it for you try using their address :)

hi im currntly using razer 2013 bwidow with cherry mx blue (60g actuate force i think) and planning to get this k87 but aftr some research they say gat brown isnt really tactile and i wanna try linear gat yellow. But my main concern is that will yellow be too light to actuate leading to more typo ? hope to get ur reply and opinion.

If you prefer better typing, it would be better to go for tactile switches that are a biy more expensive. It will be a lot better than browns. If budget is an issue I would pick browns over yellows for the tactility. I believe the spring weight should be close.

I was thinking about getting this keeb and replacing the gaterons with box white but like you said it makes high pitch sound which will make any clicky switches sound bad.
How do you know if the buttom of the switches blocks the light or not (before purchase)? There is a huge difference @ 5:35 so it would be nice to know which switches are like the stock gateron yellow.
The switches that come with the board allow for light to pass through so it should be okay regardless of what switch you choose. Keycaps is a bit tricky you can find a lot of it online. Mid to high range options are at kbdfans. For cheaper ones you will need to check online for any 87 key or 104 keycap set. It should fit this board well.

Heyo! I'm thinking about buying my first MK and this looks really good actually! What is your opinion about using it as a daily driver? I'm still looking for a reliable one to use.... But it is just the full RGB looks so nice, and there are no other keyboards like it.
I think it's really good! My only concerns are the flat profile, I would have wanted it to be raised a bit more and I strongly suggest you change the keycaps because the ones on the board are bad. Other than that I think this is really solid.

HS means hotswap. It should be the same but just double check whether what you're buying is the hotswap version. Some stores don't include the HS in the listing though it is hotswap.

Hey new to the mechanical keyboard arena I bought a techware phantom 104 like 2 months back and loving it. What I want to ask though is can new stabilizers be bought to put on to this key board as In was seeing some other reviews about the wobble or is it more a issue with the build in which like the reviews they used tape to fix the issue ?
@@yrralsiwel9616 It's hotswappable right? Usually if it's hotswap you can pop out the stabilizers. You need to remove the switch first then there should be a tab that you can push to pop it out. The one they sell in kprepublic has a download link to a software but I have not tried that. The one in Bangood doesn't have a link. It was only pointed out by a viewer as well.
The looks of this keyboard made me buy it despite needing numpad, I guess I'll buy a seperate wireless numpad for when I need it

I prefer gateron yellows over reds since I am a heavy typer. Also less unintentional press when gaming. Yellow on this one feel good!

I find yellows just right. Reds are a bit too light in my opinion :) They are right, browns are not as tactile as they should be.

Stock Gateron Yellows sound like a clicky switches on this keyboard.
Yeah it was quite high pitched probably due to the acrylic case though lubing it should help.

You will need to research and get a picture of its bottom before purchasing it and see if it will allow light to pass. That's how I do it.

Hey new to the mechanical keyboard arena I bought a techware phantom 104 like 2 months back and loving it. What I want to ask though is can new stabilizers be bought to put on to this key board as In was seeing some other reviews about the wobble or is it more a issue with the build in which like the reviews they used tape to fix the issue ?
@@yrralsiwel9616 It's hotswappable right? Usually if it's hotswap you can pop out the stabilizers. You need to remove the switch first then there should be a tab that you can push to pop it out. why is everyone getting the yellow switch btw?
A lot of people (like me) find the spring weight on the yellow just right. A bit heavier than reds but lighter than blacks. :)
Does this keyboard have a software?
The one they sell in kprepublic has a download link to a software but I have not tried that. The one in Bangood doesn't have a link. It was only pointed out by a viewer as well.
Does this keyboard work for Mac?
I haven't tried since I don't have a Mac but I think it should work on it.
I asked another UA-camr and they confirmed that it does work. When plugged in, it will ask you to identify a key as the command key.
