If anyone is here to learn DIY, stop watching now. This is how NOT to do something. Experts don't use a sledge hammer when loosening two nuts will do the job, or make sinks out of wood.😮🤔
The base of the toilet was cemented. There was no other way but to demolish the whole thing. But still, be very, very careful because broken pieces of ceramic or porculain are sharp like a surgeon knife.
one works according to the tools one has. I think I'm gonna do the same as here. too much cement in old toilets in a restricted bathroom to be able to use the ideal tools.
And also add a load of time to the job as well as leaving potentially hazardous shards of porcelain all over the floor. Which are also covered in waste particles. Nice.😕
Oh, so that's how they do it when you don't have a toilet pipe down on the floor... xD So, you obviously don't have to break the whole toilet to remove it. Those flexible hoses don't need thread tape, they have rubber washers to stop the water from leaking. I'm also not very sure about using that type of flexible pipe to go down the drain. Sewage will get trapped there and it's gonna cause problems... But I may be wrong, I'm not a plumber.
That "S" trap looks neat but you better hope nothing goes down the drain with it being fused like that. And when it clogs it's going to be fun to deal with.

You had just learned that things are not always the way you think just because you had no idea it could be otherwise. Travel around and you will see things can be done in different ways, and "your" way may not be the best, go figure. Mmm it depends. Not really a huge market for used toilets so it's basically trash anyways. They are also heavy and awkward to carry. Plus the one in this video is cemented to the floor so it's the only way.

I was thinking the same thing! I'm in Canada and all the standard household toilets I've ever seen drain into the floor, not the wall. Is this style common in another country?

An expert would never use the sledgehammer. He would simply take the entire WC off. More practical, clean, discrete and silent.

Why mash the toilet? Just take the whole thing out and save clean up time
Cause its fun
My thought, unless you weigh 80pounds lol
Because it was fixed with cement below..old style..
