So beautifully done , been a tile and cement worker for over 20 years, everything this video showed is 100 this group is master level, funniest thing is everyone in flip flops for footwear lol
I'm surprised with the comments complimenting this fixing process. You do not stand on freshly laid tiles because 1) It breaks the initial desired bond between substrate and tile and 2) to continue walking over these tiles after installation will damage the curing process of the chemicals in the adhesive. Also, large format tiles (600x300 & larger ) should always be back buttered to guarantee as near perfect bond as possible with minimal voids. It depends how fussy their clients are but in 30 years of tiling, I can't remember a floor that I've never had to sort out the odd lipping tile with a suction cup. Ps. Clients trust us to have the knowledge and deliver and this is the only reason that I comment. Happy Tilling 🇳🇿🍻👍
A few comments about how long this job will last over time but this is certainly a polished performance! No wasted movements and a flawless finish. When I see shoddy work it’s rarely done with such finesse - it’s almost like ballet!
its fucking terrible. at the point they were in middle glue must be dry at surface it will never stick to the dry tile surface, also they dont make any spacing between tiles. once temperatrues change it will crack and float on the ground. its already broken i am 100% sure
@@majorrgeek Agreed, the only question that I have is in relation to the screed, both the thoroughness of mixing and the compaction but then I would have to see it on site to pass judgement, other than that a fine job. Laying these large tiles rarely goes as well as this and being glazed they will show up any imperfections in laying between tiles, the reflections tell no lies.
In usa tile setters call that wet set ,on freshly pulled dry pack, aka sand and cement with slurry it last a long time , and levels the floor the til or stone wich is diffrent thickness will be mallot into fresh mud. Great job
No stone aggregate and no rebar mesh of any kind. The floor will expand and contract and since the tiling is attached to it, it will put stress on the tiles and they will crack and bend also..... It'll look great for the first 1 to 3 years though.
Si la chape fait au moins 7 cm d'épaisseur c'est bon après pour l'adhérence du carrelage j'ai un petit doute mais vu la taille c'est peut être suffisant....
This was done in Vietnam. You have to admire their hard work. From start to finish. It started off really rough with all that cement and dust in the air while they were mixing it. Then came the leveling all by hand after he got a nice laser line for reference. Then I was even more impressed how he troweled the whole room without even getting any cement on him. Overall results will still get him the bag! 💰
Reckon its a good job. I tiled over my vinyl kitchen floor, proper cowboy affair, that was atleast 15 years ago and they are still fine. These chaps have done a far better job than me!
Hang on, I'm not a tiler, but I've laid a few tiles, he's not using any spacers or a spirit level, will some of these tiles not crack over time, and how does he know if they're level, what happens at the end if nothing is level?
Bravo ! 👍 Bon travail et bon résultat. On sent, que tout le monde est "présent" et actif dans la volonté de bien faire... _A part le laser de mise à niveau, du début, je m'étonne de l'absence d'un niveau à bulle (pour recontrôler)...
What is special about this, screeding a floor and tiling over it's pretty basic, if old school these days. Tiles should have been back buttered though, laying a whole floor of adhesive and then tiling is going to give very poor bond as the adhesive will be skinning over by the time the tiles are laid over it.
'back buttered' is necessary to apply if you use 'solid / full body / homogenous tiles'. Because they have smooth back surface. In this video they use 800x800 tiles with abstract design printed on the surface covered with porcelain, that mean it is ceramic kinda tile which have rough back surface because they made of soil + sand and chemical. And I can guarantee it can last long since it is inside the house, I mean interior.
@@NBCNothingButCrap Problem you are going to have with putting down so much adhesive before tiling is the adhesive will begin to skin over before the tile is laid on it. This can be mitigated to a large extent by back buttering but putting down adhesive as you go is a much better approach no matter what type of tile is being used.
@@schrodingerscat1863 For me, I will apply only on a proper type of tile. This is important because you will not going to waste your time and material. I even did a research about this long time ago. The strongest and most durable floor tile installation method is 'wet install'.. no other method stronger than this. Save material and fast. Like in this video they took 2 days, 1st day floor rendering, 2nd day install. But with 'wet install'.. just took 1 day to finish, include grouting and side skirting. Done by 3 worker, 1 installer and 2 helper.
Pluster was good but all tile fixers knows that this type of floor if we scrap cement liquid it will be try withing one hour and this floor must takes 6 hrs it's mean after 1 hour he is fixing without any grip may be in first hour the grip is good but after a hour liquid must dry . This is my mind sett .. Am I wrong or right???

You don't rebar a screed or use aggregate in it. This is a semi dry screed used for levelling a subfloor it isn't structural.

The tiles in European cathedrals were laid with a method not too dissimilar to this and they have lasted centuries.
Yep, this will fail. The mud bed installation, trowel size, trowel method are all bad.
