Being a tile guy for over 30 years and doing what this guy is doing, I guarantee will last a very, very long time . I did at least 30 garages ( in Europe) I never had to go back and repair one tile . That’s the way to do it to have zero packet of air underneath the tile . that will create a very strong floor.

Is just regular cement mixed with water. You make it almost like a cream . And when you do the sand and cement mixed, you see they don’t add a lot of water. It’s really dry in the moment when you throw away the cement on top of that floor the water will be absorbed by the sand and on top will stay only the cement.
Yes. Maintaining Moisture is the only trick. Those tiles love Moisture.
They are in the Asia. Not USA.

Pluster was good but all tile fixers knows that this type of floor if we scrap cement liquid it will be try withing one hour and this floor must takes 6 hrs it's mean after 1 hour he is fixing without any grip may be in first hour the grip is good but after a hour liquid must dry . This is my mind sett ..

Vietnam and Asian has been here longer than the US ever started using concrete slabs and Asia is still here.
Been living in VN going on my 12th yr this is how it's done and every building I've been in has held well actually better than the states where I was a designer builder over 25 yrs. Every building ground floor is done this way some buildings go back to the 40s 50s and the floors have held up well.
Saigon airport is over 25 yrs old and it averages 40-50 million travelers a year and it looks new to this day.
Americans live in their own bubble anything outside their way must not be good.

I live in Vietnam sandals is all they wear even in offices :) the funny thing is when a building is being remodeled the men bring their wives and they all live in the building while the work is going on. Wives will mix cement, clean tools, clean up, work side by side their husbands as helpers then end of day they cook and they all sit around eat and socialize. They work 10-12 hr days even Sundays half days depending on the work. Some master mason craftsmen here you tube Vietnam cement facades

What is special about this, screeding a floor and tiling over it's pretty basic, if old school these days. Tiles should have been back buttered though, laying a whole floor of adhesive and then tiling is going to give very poor bond as the adhesive will be skinning over by the time the tiles are laid over it.

'back buttered' is necessary to apply if you use 'solid / full body / homogenous tiles'. Because they have smooth back surface. In this video they use 800x800 tiles with abstract design printed on the surface covered with porcelain, that mean it is ceramic kinda tile which have rough back surface because they made of soil + sand and chemical. And I can guarantee it can last long since it is inside the house, I mean interior.
@@NBCNothingButCrap Problem you are going to have with putting down so much adhesive before tiling is the adhesive will begin to skin over before the tile is laid on it. This can be mitigated to a large extent by back buttering but putting down adhesive as you go is a much better approach no matter what type of tile is being used.
@@schrodingerscat1863 For me, I will apply only on a proper type of tile. This is important because you will not going to waste your time and material. I even did a research about this long time ago. The strongest and most durable floor tile installation method is 'wet install'.. no other method stronger than this. Save material and fast. Like in this video they took 2 days, 1st day floor rendering, 2nd day install. But with 'wet install'.. just took 1 day to finish, include grouting and side skirting. Done by 3 worker, 1 installer and 2 helper.

Nao sei se foi usado o cimento alto colante para assentamento do piso,mas se foi usado o cimento alto colante esse assentamento esta errado,por que o cimento alto colante depois de um tempo exposto cria uma menbrana que nao deixa a pedra fixar no cimento alto colante,por isso nao podemos acertar desta forma

Not about technique, it's about experience and knowing what works and what doesn't. Laying tile is not done like this because this is a bad way to do it and leads to tiles lifting over time. The screeding was fine but the tiling was not.

The mix is cement powder with sand. When it dries it is sort of like a fine grain sand cinder block doesn't shrink / crack. Once it's all cured the floors hold up quite well

This was done in Vietnam. You have to admire their hard work. From start to finish. It started off really rough with all that cement and dust in the air while they were mixing it. Then came the leveling all by hand after he got a nice laser line for reference. Then I was even more impressed how he troweled the whole room without even getting any cement on him. Overall results will still get him the bag! 💰
Reckon its a good job. I tiled over my vinyl kitchen floor, proper cowboy affair, that was atleast 15 years ago and they are still fine. These chaps have done a far better job than me!
Those workers are probably smarter than you think. They know the standards to ensure sustainability. Have you ever done this job? Do you have practical experience?
The tiles in European cathedrals were laid with a method not too dissimilar to this and they have lasted centuries.
