first time in a long time i see a lefty playing an axe upside down. i do it, and it weirds people out. i can see why now. dude knows how to make a tele sing, too.
Nice one for sure. Dad's got one he brought home in 59 or 60 with a Fender Deluxe amp. But his has been refinished a couple of times, and not by a pro, has a home made pick guard and needs a fret job. The fingerboard is worn deep in the cowboy area. He also did a wiring mod to it and added a toggle switch. All done when an old Fender was just that. Nothing special. Some day, I'll see about getting it in good playing shape again as I don't have a tele. Interesting thing is, he has a friend that used to come over and play, that plays upside down and backwards too. One of several kids in the family and one guitar. It's amazing to me that people can teach themselves to play like that. I can't imagine anyone being much use to help them.
I was born in Jan. 1951, I'll be 68 soon. A nice guitar for my birthday would be cool, but I don't see why I need an expensive new one, maybe a cheaper second-hand one, oh, I know, one from the year I was born. Seriously, I am at a loss to see how you could improve on the early Fenders and I wonder if anyone has, because this old thing sounds just great.
shop.fender.com/en-GB/electric-guitars/telecaster/american-performer-telecaster-hum/0115122341.html. Just bought one in the same spec vintage white with maple neck, but with single coil and NOT humbucker. Great guitar and not expensive. And I was born in 1952.
Great sounding set. Thanks for this very good video and a chance to see all the beautifull guitars that come across your store, I always enjoy it and learn from it about those vintage instruments. Merry Christmas to you all there !
@@RiotBike might wanna open with a short clip of the guitar, then go into the specs/history with a timestamp for the other tones afterward? might do a little to curb the adhd of todays viewers lmao
Anyone know what songs the guitarist is playing? Also, really tripped me out that he is playing upside down, which is not unheard of, but the fact that it's still strung for right-handed use (higher gauged strings on the bottom, lower gauged strings on the top).
So is the Nocaster sounds li music to my ears. Left makes it sing. As I doubt I will ever afford a Nocaster or an early 50’s, I more excited about ordering the Vintage II 1951 Telecaster. Can’t wait for Fender to send me my guitar. 😁
Hey Jay. Long time no see. Really nice guitar, and the shop still looks like I remember it. Glad to see you have a channel on UA-cam - which I just subscribed to. Cheers and blessings........
In a recent Instagram post, Joe Bonamassa revealed the best guitar ever in his collection: a 1951 Fender Nocaster, which he found to be one of the best guitars he has ever played with, both for conditions of the instrument, both for the performances it can offer.
I just posted a pic through your website. It shows a guy I met a while back that pulled out a tele-like guitar that he acquired in the early 50s in New York when he was playing in a Celtic band. Even the tweed case looked new. Serial number is 149. I was curious enough about it at the time to take a pic of it. I was playing a G&L ASAT Leo Fender signature model at his house which I guess motivated him to drag this thing out from under his bed.
A roommate years ago had one of these that was finished in poly an old man gave him, I played it for a couple months it is the best guitar I've ever played! He moved and sold it due to dental bills.
Stunning guitar. It's been well taken care of. That sound! Where did you get it? Not familiar with how that works. I know you'll give her a good home. Happy holidays!
I have one nocaster at home. Not well cared and even repainted like George's Harrison brown color but playable... it never came to my grandpa's mind that they would become so expensive now.
Great channel, glad I found you. Just subbed n thumbed. Have a noob question for any kind soul out there. My bottom strap screw has pulled out of my strat. Best fix?
Put a little superglue down the length of match stick or a toothpick, put it in the screw hole, let glue dry so it's stuck to the edge of the hole. Break off and protruding part of the stick, then screw it back on. The stick should make the hole tight enough for the screw to get a grip in it.
Him “You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you,” I “You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die,” I \Him “You are wonderful.” Him/I “Thank you.” Him “I know something you don’t know. I am not left-handed.” I “There’s something I ought to tell you. I’m not left-handed either.”
I cannot imagine playing a guitar like this strung upside down. I did try once or twice and was able to play a couple of simple chords. But I’m thinking one’s brain needs to be rewired to do it well.
Perfect balance from bass to treble. Pure Fender magic.
Love that playing! Lefty, upside down, strung backwards. That was cool! And this Nocaster is sweet.
I got stuck on the mod train for a while.. super thick brass bridge plates, various saddles, etc etc, but eventually came back to this glorious sound.
Beautiful instrument, and great playing! You really captured the vibe of the guitar.
Each episode seems like a high quality documentary. Love the content, the host and the stories - ofcourse, guitars are fantastic !
Damn, that's just a gorgeous guitar. I can't imagine how much history that guitar has seen. Thank you so much for sharing!

It's not a tele it's a nocaster
But I agree
IT is weird. But all that matters is how it sounds :-)
Quite impressive however
Paul Mcartny used to play a 60s sunburst esquire left handed
Best tone i've ever heard from a tele. Period.
A unique guitar played by a unique player, thats the sound of América right there folks

Really enjoyed listening to this guy playing..
I wish I had never sold my 1951 Esquire.
I wish I never sold my 1959 telecaster, but It did allow me to purchase my first house.
Love it, if only Santa could bring me that

Joe Bonamassa will buy it, and then ask if it’s all you’ve got...
Guitar Safari baby! Yeah!
Because he doesn't have enough guitars in his man cave.. or amps for that matter.. very bad GAS since childhood...
Half the guitars they have are from Joe selling them. Lol
what an incredible sounding guitar and amp combo. Thanks for posting
i am weirded out but excellent playing...i have reissue limited edition and love it with all my heart....
I have one of the reissue too. The guitar is just fabulous. Sounds great.
Holy shit, that guitar sounds absolutely amazing through that amp. Damn.
This is the best Trevor has sounded in demo video.
A oldie but a goodie. Excellent all around.
Been watching this channel for a long time now, I don't know how you don't have 100k subscribers
Prolly too much talking. Could do with a slight change of format cos most viewers wanna listen to the guitar more than talking.
I was gonna say the same.
How about the history of the actual guitar if you want time/content?
Purchased a FBird from EC a few weeks ago. Thanks.

I'm obsessed with these super early tele models lately
Yeah baby!51 Gomez! That's the stuff! Peice of art right there.great find.I really dig these!

Great player. Sounds great!
That guy knows how to play! Great demo, man!
That sounded fucking amazing
Nice demo Trevor. Leftys who play upside down have such a unique take on the fretboard. Plus they always have a guitar available.
And there is something off with Trevor’s playing... must be the beer 😳
Mind blown by the playing. Fantastic job. I’m going to go listen to Elizabeth Cotton now.
Great playing
Absolutely envious of this guitar! I’ve been a tele guy since I first picked up a guitar, and I just love and prefer the tele sound and style.
The demo . I’m speechless
Wow my favourite guitars are telecasters, the sound is incredible. However i think this is my favourite tele of all. The bass is amazing on it.

One of the Holy Grail ones there. Let me see if they'll give me a mortgage. I'll get back to you.
Incredible, bright treble.
Jay -- I'll be there third week of January. Hope I get a chance to play this. :-)

Where can I listen to the background tune (instrumental version)? Thanks!
7:59 Thunderous roar, love it!
Awesome playing from Trevor. I knew he was a lefty but I didn’t know he could play a righty guitar flipped. Fucking awesome

I would pull my teeth for this
Oh I would love if Santa would give me a 1951 nocaster even a reisssue extra milk and cookies.
Great guitar....👍
And playing upside down is no easy task.
Had a Lh friend who had a few guitars i liked but playing them was weird.
I want to adopt that young man and make him my full time guitar tech/handler.
Wow, that sound.
strange looking on the headstock below the nut. something maybe has been replugged??
Pretty please let me win the lottery!!! So awesome!!
sounds enormous

Very tasteful upside-down playing 😎
I really love thermometer cases.

@@pbbvhunterandfinder9953 Thanks a ton!
SM7 for the amp? I'll have to try that!
does it have a big "baseball bat" neck like my custom shop Nocaster does (which I love, BTW)?
Great playing, sounds lovely, Trevor!
That’s a boss guitar
It even sounds sooo vintage...
nice playing :D
I'll give you £478 for it 👍
@N R It's listed for $114,995.00 USD on the site.
@@stageb2233 I saw a '53 Tele at the down town Seattle GC 3 years ago, Only 45K.
fair price honestly
You might be looking for a Squier guitar.
Very Nice,,demo🇺🇸
Leo had The Precision Bass name. Everything else was Don Randall.
Nice axe, btw :)
good demo
A real beauty. What’s it worth today ?
And what did this sell for in 1951 ?
Selling on Reverb for $114K.
You can only play those things upside down?? Sounds good tho.
What happened to the price at the end ...... are we changing the format of the show ?......... just asking
$114,995.
I was really hoping I see the price at the end as usual. With this one, if you have to ask....
and if you have to ask....... oh well........
114K on Reverb.
Joe is on his way, another guitar safari, just be prepared for some hostile negotiation.
Hey, I’m listening to this on an iPad - anyone tell me if that jive sounds any good?
Bit outta reach at $114K on Reverb. As-of 5/15/2019- not sold.
Truly a beautiful instrument
The only thing I don't like is it only has 21 frets. Same with other old Fender products (I think until the 70s)
No prob if it's pre CBS I'll take it
114K- where do I sign ?
can that Tele play Metal on that amp?
sfear6 yah it’s beautiful. But does it gent?
4:19 The far north position... that is new for me
Jimmy Page should buy it and paint dragons on it
That’s not a 75 vibrolux. It’s most likely a late 78-79
Just play It!

Back in the 60,s they were old guitars not vintage and were cheap. Lol. Should have stayed that way. Lol

and bread was under a dollar a loaf
