People say Fury Road has too simplistic a story, that it amounts to them going down a road only to turn around and come back. Totally missing the point. Yeah, the beat by beat story elements aren't super complicated, but they perfectly convey the message. There is no Green Place on the horizon. You're not going to get anywhere by just running away from your problems to some hypothetical paradise in your future. All you can really do is fight to make the place you have better. It's beautiful.

There's a theory, that i believe to be true, that says that this Max from Fury Road, is actually the feral kid from the early movies, and that he just took Max's name for himself and his personality too, that's why he has the music box in this movie and acts the way it does, he's not the "real" Max, he's more of a caricature of the old one, and if yout consider the that the time between the movies is the time that passes in this universe too, his age would kinda of add up. For folks wondering about the timeline, *Fury Road is after Thunderdome:*
The backstory of Glory the Child in the tie-in comics and how she became involved in Max's life. Some time before, she had been kidnapped by the Buzzards during a raid on a trading convoy, and her mother searched and searched for someone who could find her daughter and bring her back. After saving Max's life, he owed her a favor which was finding and returning Glory to her mother. After a harrowing excursion into the Sunken City, Max managed to both save Glory and retrieve his stolen V8 Interceptor. Unfortunately, the remaining pursuing Buzzard ran over both the mother and child, eerily re-enacting the deaths of Max's wife and child. Max killed the attacker and found the mother dead on the scene, while Glory was holding onto her last breath. Glory's last words to Max was to tell him to look after her mother, not knowing she was already dead. *This event arguably destroyed pretty much all the psychological development Max had undergone during the events of Beyond Thunderdome, resulting in him being the shell of a man he is in the opening of Fury Road.*
Glory: You... came back. I knew... you would. Is... mamma all right?
    Max: She's fine.
    Glory: Look... after her...
    Max: I will.

The visual storytelling of this film was vastly superior to just about every single movie I've ever watched. The nuance and detail, layers upon layers of greatness. Spotlight was a good film, a very solid film, but the fact it won over this movie in the Academy Awards still bothers me as one of the all-time greatest snubs in film history. I love Cameron Lauder’s take, that the Mad Max movies are the myths from even further out in the future *about* the time they’re set in, and Max just ends up in them all, like Hercules just acquiring adventures, which would be very annoying to historians.
“These stories are set centuries apart, it can’t be the same guy!” “No, it was Max in that one too. We know it’s Max because he has the interceptor.” “But the interceptor was destroyed in an earlier story!” “Well, he found another one, because it’s Max. He has the interceptor.”

9:38 a side note. The Interceptor that we see at the begining of the movie, is not even the real one. Mad looses the real one in Road Warrior, and after that, afraid of loosing his personality too, he finds a new one and rebuild it to look as close as posible. If you compare both side by side, you will notice the Fury Road one is missing the rear boot spoiler, the exhaust are different, the front end is still in one piece, and the supercharger is not the same tho it looks very similar. Even in the game {wich is supposed to hapend before Fury Road and has a ton of spoilers for the next Furiosa movie} they say that Interceptor was a replica, and even you can find the rear boot spoiler as a mission.
Some people say it's just coincidence, but do you really think someone like Gearge Miller would mess up that bad? Everything is conected, everything is well thouht.
So yeah, loosing his second Interceptor is a nice way to make Max understand that he needs to move on. He's no longer the Road Warrior, he's not longer MAD Max. He is Max.

Dag was my personal favorite of the wives🥰 every time she is on screen I repeatedly continue to enjoy listening to her comments and observations of there situation throughout fury road. Abbey Lee Kershaw was perfect in her line delivery, and she portrayed Dag as a person of innocence, curiosity, intellect and someone who has struggled but has held on to there ability to care. hope to see her in more futures projects 😍
    Schlanger!
Say, anyone notice that bright light? Encroaching gunfire?
Angharad, is that just the wind or is it some furious vexation?
The Dag : [to her belly] Stay right where you are, little Joe. Kind of lost his novelty out here.
Keeper of the seeds: You're having a baby?
The Dag : Warlord, Jr... It's gonna be so ugly.
Keeper of the Seeds : It could be a girl!
    [pause]
The Dag : You kill people with that, do you?
Keeper of the Seeds : Killed everyone I've ever met out here. Headshots all of, snap! Right on the medulla.
The Dag : I thought some of you girls were above all that.
Keeper of the Seeds : [after a pause] Come here. Take a peek.
    The Dag : [gasping] Seeds.
Keeper of the Seeds : This are from home. Heirlooms. The real thing. I plant one every chance I get.
    The Dag : Where?
Keeper of the Seeds : So far nothing's took. Earth's too sour.
The Dag : Ah! So many different kinds.
Keeper of the Seeds : Trees, flowers, fruit. Back then everyone had they field. Back then there was no need to snap anybody.
I like to think She goes on to continue the work of the keeper of the seeds.
Apparently The word "dag" is an Australian English term used as an affectionate insult for someone who is unfashionable, lacks self-consciousness about their appearance, and has poor social skills, yet is affable and amusing.
If I was in the Mad Max world and I had a chance to be in a relationship with one of the Wives I'd be with Dag hands down.
Had a crush on her ever sense she said "He's a crazy smeg who eats Schlanger!"😁
I guess I have a thing for clever Silver haired women😘
