    This is from 12 years ago. (March 2024)! I just bought a 2nd hand one, used once!) & it is amazing! I saw a 2024 listing of top 5 food processors - & this. Breville was number 1, ranking 10 out of 10! Brilliant! Good presentation. Wonder if this processor still going?

    I bought the Sous Chef 12 Plus. Awesome machine. The only problem I’ve found thus far is that my friends are all putting on weight from the amount of cooking I’m doing. This is my second Breville purchase and I am extremely happy with their engineering and quality control. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Williams and Sonoma staff was knowledgeable and friendly (Bloor Street Store Toronto). They held this item at the sale price for me so I could get it on my schedule. Thanks, Anna!

I just made a raw carrot ginger coconut soup. IT WAS AMAZING!!! The creamiest smoothest, and QUIETEST food processor ever used = WOW. . I AM HONESTLY AMAZED! (This was just using the regular S blade)! though may need to exchnage it if plus issue, otherwise best, EVER!

    I like this food processor a lot, but many of the "OMG so smart" new features have been around on Kitchenaid and Cuisinart machines for a *long* time. However, the slicer is amazing, it's a really good motor, and in a lot of little details the thing is by far the nicest one I've used (and I've been using them since the late 70s; I've had like 5 or 6 in all and used them a lot).

      Wow how did it break as I have a 16 cup one that I just took out of storage but do not want to do something to break it..

    • @ElissaPancoe
      @ElissaPancoe 8 років тому

      There's a plastic safety thing on the bowl the size of a fingernail where it has to push into a thing on the base when you twist the bowl onto the base. Since that tiny little plastic piece somehow broke, I couldn't activate the safety release thing on the motor base so the machine wouldn't turn on anymore. The solution was to buy an overpriced bowl, or just get a new food processor with more features. I opted for the breville food processor because I wanted the julienne and french fry disc and have no regrets.

    • @kenroman777
      @kenroman777 8 років тому

      Thank you Elissa, I just received my Sous Chef and so far it is wonderful. I will still be keeping my Cuisinarts though as they are able to process larger dough recipes than the Breville but for slicing and french fry cutting this is amazing. I also am pleased with how well the bowl and pusher assembly wash and dry.

I’ve found out there’s a crack and I don’t understand why cause I’m taking such good care of it and I don’t over pack or over process anything. Good thing I can buy a new replacement for the cup processor.

    After researching different food processors (Cuisinart, KitchenAid, Magimix, Omega) I have decided to invest in this food processor. I am investing in a high end FP because I have decided to make a lifestyle change in my dietary habits for health reasons. I will be eating mostly vegan and raw foods which almost always require the use of a FP in preparation. I did notice in the video during the dough portion that there is moisture build up in the handle. I decided against the Cuisinart because some reviewers said that after some use, food particles will become caught in a small opening at the top of the lid and it does not come apart for cleaning therefore leading to bacteria and mold build up. Seeing the moisture in the handle makes me wonder if this will be a problem with this machine? Does anyone know if the handle comes apart so it can dry properly if moisture were to get inside as in the video? Thanks for your help!

    • @KuntaKinteToby
      @KuntaKinteToby 10 років тому +1

      I'm not trying to go vegan but I want to eat a heavily Mediterranean and low oil asian diet and chopping vegetables for 20 minutes when I could be done in under 5 minutes with a food processor is a major deterrent. I want 'fast food' but I want to be healthy for me.
      Basically I love meat too much to forgo it completely, but I do want to eat about 65% of my food intake as fresh veg.
      I purchased and returned a 12 cup Cuisinart priced at $225.00 CAD - it was quite bad, and could not even mince celery without getting stuck.
      Best of luck to you with your diet change.

    Thank you cameraperson for close ups that show moisture trapped in the handle because that is one of the most annoying things to me about various models I have tried and really want to avoid one that gets food/water trapped in plastic pieces you cannot properly clean out.

    • @KuntaKinteToby
      @KuntaKinteToby 10 років тому

      I would advise against it. While the motor and blades will certainly crush ice, I do not think the bowl is impact resistant, and hard ice chunks may damage it with repeated use. Its this reason most blenders have a glass bowl.

    • @seikibrian8641
      @seikibrian8641 10 років тому

      Some companies offer a "Parmesan/Ice Grating Disk" as an accessory, but I don't think Breville is one of them. These disks turn ice into snow for making snow cones, kaki-gori, frozen margaritas and daiquiris, etc. See, for example: www.kitchenaid.com/digitalassets/KFP13PI/Standalone_1175X1290.jpg
      I wouldn't try to crush ice in the bowl unless I bought a spare chopping blade to use only for that purpose.

    Here's what they don't show you. The actual accessory storage is a double stack. They are only showing you ONE box, it's actually TWO (dicer attachment). They also don't show you how enormous this product is or what it costs, $550 plus tax. I love Breville but this product is too cumbersome. It's industrial, and there's lots of handwashing. Real chefs will appreciate what this bad boy can do but the rest of us will feel guilty if dust begins to form from not using it everyday. LOL : )

      It shipped to save time and cleaning is to just simply put in a few drops of soap with warmer water and run the machine for a little bit to clear out the bowl and blade.

      +tom nash -- And Cuisinart copied Robot-Coupe. (In fact, the first Cuisinarts were imported Magimix 1800s from France, with "Cuisinart" labels added. Cuisinart didn't have their own food processor until 1980, when their contract with Robot-Coupe expired.)

    I love this food processor! ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxuxrxet7NpWgQWK7mCww2lBlrKBcUIrtv I was really hesitant when I placed the order, because it is cheap as compared to the higher end ones. I debated on getting a higher end one, but decided not to, because this one had great reviews and honestly, I didn't know how often I was going to use a food processor. Little did I know that I was going to use it pretty often and it is amazing. I don't use it every day, but at least a few times a month, and so far, it works! And grinds up things pretty fine.The one con would be the slicing and shredding blade - I don't really use it, because I don't think the veggies come out that pretty. A higher end food processor would probably do a better job, (but I really don't know). Anyway, I mostly use the S blade to grind and finely chop food and so far, it meets my needs and I'm very satisfied! Especially for the price that I paid for it!UPDATE! I have had this processor for over a year now, and I still use it constantly and it works perfectly. Such a great purchase!
