It is impossible to understand the essence of Christianity outside our historical foundations. I was reading a book about an encirclement of an Albanian medieval castle from the Ottoman army. After the first battle the church of the Albanians was destroyed and the cross had also fell to the ground. The people after suffering so much rebuilt what they could and they were singing this song.
