Ray, that was probably THE best film I have watched on youtube ever, the views we astounding throughout. God only knows how many extra miles you put in with all the filming but so glad you did. Thank you so so much for taking us along, I felt for you tho with the bloody midges :-). you're some man. cheers and atb.
Ray, that was amazing. I think I would need to take twice the time with my knees but the weather made it so atmospheric. The conditions certainly test to the limit. Im very interested in your extra paniers. They look so useful for all the extra stuff you want at your fingertips when walking. What make are they?, Where can you buy them? are they actually for kayaking/canoeing?. They look great? Thanks for sharing your trip
It is called a RibzPack for hiking which I bought years and years ago. Think you can still get them from the USA but only come in black now. Atb ribzwear.com/
What an achievement Ray. I’ve followed you on your adventures for many years now and you never fail inspire. Your films are always informative, honest and with useful tips on gear and locations. Keep up the great work. All the best.
Wow is all i can say, i just love your videos and scenery and all the information that you give too, also well done that was one massive trek you accomplished thank you for sharing it was a treat to watch, you and murray are my all time favs,
I'm so envious!. If only I had 2 working hips and 2 working knees I would love to experience such an adventure. Thank you for sharing such magnificence with us
I'm catching up with your videos Ray after only recently discovering your channel. The content you put out is fantastic and your lost valley video is coming up soon which takes me back as I wild camped there as a wee child with my father. Happy new year, stay safe and keep up the great vlogging.
Going into that "go-pro mode" for a while with the eerie music was fantastic, as was the rest of the video. I took my time with this one and it was well worth every second spent. Cheers from Norway, thanks, Ray!
Mate, that was brilliant! I thoroughly enjoyed watching that. I was sat here with my laptop with OS maps open and watching you on the telly, tracking the route and your progress. Absolute respect and hats off to you for coping with all that the weather threw at you, and having the patience to set up all those camera shots and do all that narration - on top of those massive days!!! You aso must have carried a very heavy pack. I think those 7 dyas you did would take me at least 10!! Thanks very much for putting that together, really brilliant. I think I might give this Cape Wrath Trail a crack myself. This is what you tube is all about.
Congratulations Ray. You have produced a remarkable video in the most difficult of circumstances. In my opinion it's your best yet. You took everything that the trail and the weather could throw at you and remained stong. Well done man.
Really enjoyed that!! Love the wee bothys out in the middle of nowhere too. Great mental strength/grit to allow you to keep going on a challenge like this
Many thanks Ray for all your efforts to film the trail and talk us through your experiences along the way. Tremendous footage which you can be proud of. Cheers!
Thank you Ray for sharing this epic adventure with us. You did a tremendous job in portraying both the difficulty and beauty of the trail. That narrow path by the falls was amazing to see. Astounding accomplishment...
As late comer to your channel I am inspired by your trips, long may they continue. I have just started long distance walking at the age of 67, I have completed the C2C and the WHW, and more to come.
Wow! That track along the Falls was so scary even watching you from my armchair. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us, I would give anything to be able to walk in the wilderness but ill health prevents that. So I'll be living it through your eyes. Stay safe and thank you.
Very very much enjoyed this Ray. Came here from your WHW video (which has made me consider solo'ing it sometime next year) and again the production and content here are top-notch. Honestly, you should get your own television show with content this good. Take it easy.
It was really interesting to see the path you took around the falls of Glomach as we were about 20 feet below you clinging on for dear life unaware of the path above. Well done top video. Liked and subbed.
Congratulations on completing your section, and a huge thanks for documenting the journey and sharing it with us. Great entertainment, informative and inspiring.
Really enjoyed the video of the CWT. Although I have not done CWT per se, I have done much of the paths you were on, on various trips over the years and it brought back happy memories of my time in the North West of Scotland. Thank you!
Absolutely epic, Ray. A fantastic achievement. You deserve a gold medal for endurance and an Oscar for cinematography. I was with you every step of the way!
Absolutely gorgeous footage of that most beautiful landscape- every shot is a stunner. Felt like I was with you every step of the way (in my dry comfy chair). All that back and forth with the camera certainly added a few km. to an already arduous trek. Well.... thanks! I thoroughly enjoyed that!
Hey Ray - this is your "American Friend" Tom from the Maol Bhuidhe -> Ullapool section. Great vid, you got it up quick! I successfully finished a few days ago and made it back to the states. What a journey! It was great meeting you and I'll be looking forward to your future vids. Cheers.
Hi Tom. So glad you got in touch and really chuffed that you got it completed and safely back home. Hope you maybe visit Scotland again the future and maybe meet up on the trail again somewhere. Atb
I'm sure I saw your tent ⛺ in the distance when I was staying at the bothy at glen deseree. Good video I'm going to do it again next year but gonna include west highland way 😃👌
That sounds cool. When I done my WHW film i was going to continue on to Ullapool for another week but the forecast for the week was terrible. Regret not doing it, but as you say doing both back to back would be epic. Atb with it.
What amazing views. Many thanks for sharing this and well done on a magnificent achievement! I really enjoyed watching and especially appreciate the scenes where its just the sound of the wind/rain/rivers/squelchy footsteps and just breathtaking countryside. Many thanks
Thanks for the video, the trail is hard enough in itself without all the effort of filming. Some fantastic scenery , enjoyed the part from Sourlies to Kinloch Hourn, we were there over the summer at Barisdale Bay.
Fantastic video. I was down for the Cape Wrath ultra this year but put it off until next year. And even then I may have to push it back until 2026. Gnarly stuff. Thanks for the amazing video. You're a frickin legend!
Well done Ray, that looked pretty tough. Weather and filming must have been a challenge. Thanks for sorting out my entertainment for this afternoon! Cheers
Hardy guy, full stop. Fully appreciate your content and above all else, your effort. Thanks Ray, for this. Hoofing this wee part of our island isn't so easy. Absolutely great and realistic record of events here. Well done SIR!
Fabulous video of an amazing trip. 100% briliant idea to use the GoPro to shoot footage of the narrow path around the Glomach waterfalls. Very nicely done - perfectly shows the nature of the terrain and the various challenges that the route offers.
Thanxs Ray great video of your trip Beautiful from start to finish Might try it myself 1day I’m on the Gold @ moment 😤 Helmsdale next & well-done 👍🏴
Congratulations Ray! So pleased for you that you have now completed this challenge. Those last two days would have been difficult in any conditions, but over the terrain you were covering pushes it off the scale! I hope you managed a celebratory beer on your arrival into Ullapool. Also a big thank you for making the effort to record your adventure for us to be inspired by. Great video. Cheers!
Fantastic Ray, Brilliant videography, beautiful shots, good atmosphere and all that while putting in those long days and being eaten alive by midges. Great job! Cheers! Kris.
Thanks so much for putting the effort of making such a nice film! I know it's not easy with the rain and everything. Two years ago I walked the West Highland way, not sure if I saw your tent there as well or a lookalike but it works good on photos haha
congratulations on getting back on it & completing your challenge. some serious miles you logged for that kind of terrain towards the end.. you must be chuffed
Hello Ray, I'm new to your channel and your videos are very inspiring! We've only done day hikes so far but looking forward to longer hikes. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Ray. Great footage. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The scenery you've captured is just awesome! I've had a few chances hiking in the NW Highlands, but not nearly enough. The only reason I can think of why we think doing things like this is hard is that we're just unused to it. Most of us have lost the art or don't even know how to walk. By that, I mean for any length of time. Just my humble opinion, though. Yours, by the way, is among the better footage I've seen among vids posted about hiking and the Outdoors. Hope you get or got a chance to do the second half.
Thanks for wathcing. I do have a multi part group of films of when I done the other half of the CWT I earlier on my channel. That section was the adventure from hell. Atb

I've always just stuck to the Cairngorms and Royal Deeside due to the proximity to my home in Aberdeen but the far North-West looks very challenging.
