StarCraft was a Warhammer 40k game for a long time during development, but the rights where pulled so Blizzard had to change things.
Terrans = Space Marines,
Zerg = Tyranids,
Protoss = Aeldari,
Dark Templar = Drukhari
Am I like allowed to paint the ultramarines as a salamanders or some other marines?

Not for me. My hunger for tyrainds getting greater each time
lighting tip- use a big window for natural light. Either have it to the side, or have the figures facing the window (back lit won't work) If you're investing in a camera, get a macro lens, that will help loads.

na bro for a starter this is insane im just about to start the hobby again since doing it as a kid but i can only hope my paint job comes out this good
