Amazing as always... The way you explain everything in such depth 💙💙💙 first thing first, I get intimidated by reference I want a detailed sketching 😧 like I always want it to be perfect. But you just randomly drew and put more focus on painting, and the end result is 😍 .I have to overcome this fear.
Thanks! And SURE!!! I was the same! Graphite and perfect grids to copy all to the perfection! same in painting, I used to do photorealism and ugh. But painting small things like these each day, small sessions of 1hour, made me lose all these habits! If i could you can hah!💪 good luck✨
I find the checking tones using the desaturation with the phone helpful to check if my tones are correct and that I have enough contrast as I am more a colour painted than a tone painter, yet a professional artist said it doesn't really matter what colours are used, as long as the tones are right
As long as the values are right* exactly. If your chiaroscuro, grisaille, black and white image (call or whatever) is correct, the colours won’t matter :)
This was extremely helpful, I appreciated the mono comparison of values on the phone, watching the color mixing and all of your explanations. More of this type of video would be excellent. Thank you!
As always, your videos are super interesting. I like your technique, because it is not the usual oil color technique with long times with drying between the various layers. I am thinking of doing some work with the oil, I have seen that there are odorless thinners on the market for those who, like me, are allergic to turpentine. Thanks Alai!

Aww thanks! Pues porque así sostengo el trapo o papel con esa mano, puedo limpiar el pincel bastante con solo apretar el pincel con el trapo y la mano, y así si mancha no me mancho yo :) espero que se entienda!
