Hi lovely beings!
Hope you're all having a wonderful day! Happy Friday to you all!!
Today I've got another one of my video ideas for you hehehe! This is what my English mum says! She doesn't know I'm making this video hehehe :-)
This will act as a case study for you - for someone in their 60s and what kind of English they use! She is from the south of England and speaks with Modern RP! 🤗🇬🇧
I hope you find it useful! Let me know in the comments if so! I’ll do my best to reply to each comment 🤗
Take care everyone and keep smiling! Don’t give up 💪

Love your British accent. It is impeccable and flawless. Your mother is lucky to have a remarkable daughter like you and you also the same. Remarkable channel.
Aww that’s lovely!😊💗👍
Thanks so much for that hearted comment again... But, love to hear a word or two for my comment from you, cause nothing like getting a comment from an expert like you who is everybody's bees knees when it comes to learning a foreign language..
Have a good day and sending greetings and good wishes to you again and again this festive season from a country called srilanka which is obviously quite far away from you, yet happy to get in touch on utube with you as always, "love your lessons big time" 🙏🙏🥰

Hi y’all ,I already like your Mom!!…She remains me what my Grandma said when she was expressing her self in Spanish version .😊 In Latin America people use those expressions a lot, specially in Mexico you hear people expressing that way all the time. It’s fun and enjoyable. Great video Katharine!!.
Oh, Katherine, you are one of a kind! Please explain this idiom in one of your future lessons!
Scrub, cat and dust are my favorite now!

Oops, sorry, duty calls me and I have to leave now, but will see you later for sure...
Anyways, before I leave, I just wanna leave you with this great quote of mothers which I have tons of respect for ... 🙏 🙏

There is a way older British ladies say "Gurrl" which I wish I could do :)
I'm west coast of Canada and there are a great many old British sayings still in use here, some of which are specific to the north of Scotland, where many of us are from ...mind, smoked kippers and haggis and black pudding are commonly available here too :)
Perfect definition about small flats in London..😀
😁😁
Hi Katharine,
Learning english with your Mom's affection style gave me extra pleasure;
Specially when you explained about your mom's liking of blue colour etc.
and explaining about England's culturally used diverse English.
Hope one day you will make travel blogs as well.

"You are getting a bit out of your tree there" is a lovely idiom, too. By the way, is N°5 always allowed (precisely because of the musk) ?
:) Thank you :)
You’re very welcome!! 😊👍
Hi Katharine❤I am an English teacher and your videos REALLY help me improve my accent, can u do me a favour and spot more light onto the illusive “y” that you talked about before, it really helps me catch this difference between my accent and native’s but I still need more explanation… thanks in advance 🙏
Its funny how our language and phrases change over short amounts of time. Oh Crumbs and Gordon Bennet are both used by my grandparents but not parents lol I used to hear raining cats and dogs when I was a child 80s and 90s but have not heard it recently. Here is some thing I bet you did not know. Gordon Bennet was named after a real person in Scotland his full name was James Gordon Bennet who had some very outrageous behavior like publishing graphic details of the birth of his son James Gordon Bennett juniour Shocking people at the time. He moved to Amercia and was a journalist. Here is one for you Jack Frost paid us a visit this morning its nice and crisp outside. :)
Wow! Thanks for that information 😊😊😊
i love your speaking.❤❤❤😂😮😅😊😊
😊😊🤗🤗
Dear Katharine, I adore this week topic as Mom's idioms. Thanks a lot! My favourite one is that waiting for the dust to settle which I will use it afterwards. I couldnt stand waiting a week for next lesson. I am so curious about the topic. Until then, take it easy. Hasan from Turkey. 🎉
👍😊
Great! Wonder if you can make videos on how to improve one's facial expression like your when talking or presenting
Thanks Catherine I am so glad the way you teaching us I lerning you lesson a lots of Vocabulary. I have a bit of problem my confidance of English is little bit of low I don't know how i improve ?
Thanks again
My next video is about confidence 😊
@@englishwithkatharine thanks 😊
A English teenager from the 1970s says 'oh crumbs'. Wow, that is far out!
Does she still play her ELP and Moody Blues records?
Anyway, enjoy your weekend and Bob is your uncle.
Yes she does 🥰🥰
@@englishwithkatharine
Wow! So do I! But they are now on CDs.
Those colours suit you, actually.
I stuck in a standstill traffic right now 😅😅😂😂😂, like you explained
😅😅
Dear Katharine, thanks 🙏 again for a wonderful video-lesson. One of the things you’ve said on it has have me wondering about what would it be a modern alternative. You’ve told us that, “being stuck between a rock and a hard place” is nowadays an outdated phrase. What would we then be likely to hear when walking, let’s say by the streets of London, to young people to express that idea? A thousand thanks 😊 and have a lovely weekend!
Take your like 🌹
🙏🙏
Ohh you have a lovely mum and i like your accent 😊 Anyways, i remember when my boyfriend mum calling me i cant talk normally I'm totally speechless its funny but her british accent is really hard to understand 😶 here in the philippines they use American english than british english. But i really want to learn a lot about british english its interesting and also you help me a lot because of your videos thank u so much.❤
#philippines'fans'here🇵🇭

I’m in the hospital and your voice is utter bliss! Thank you, Katharine!
I will be back on track soon! ❤🤗
Get well soon ❤️🩹
Hello Katharine, is it possible to have a lesson about the modern RP with the w and y intrusion? Do you use the intrusion to connect the words?
Love from India 😊❤
❤😊
