Got the bontrager velocis MIPS myself and find it an incredibly comfortable helmet. Wanted a noggin lid to match the light blue colour of my bike and originally looked at the kask protone but couldn't find one in my size - so opted for the bontrager. Did actually source the protone very recently, but immediately returned it as no where near as comfortable as the velocis: the boa adjustment is top notch.
Yes, the Velocis is very comfortable and the best looking helmet I have. Maybe not the lightest, but you only notice in comparison with a very light one.
Great review! This was definitely what I wanted to hear to decide to buy a helmet. Thank you, Federico. I would like to ask the brand of your cycling glasses. They look great.
@@fede1275 I'll check it out, thanks for your response. I've been looking about for bike helmets and the really nice ones -- the ones with the least dork factor -- are sadly beyond my wallet.
@@kamuelalee I known, you really pay more for the design and lightweight, as the safety should be the same for all. The Velocis is a good balance, more aero helmets are cool, but they can become too racey as trying too hard. I'm guilty as well.
The MET Trenta has got the lower volume profile and an aerodinamic tail that is not too long. Definitely the most stylish one. Close second the Velocis, very smart, just a little bit more volume and weight. I like POC, but it's definitely mushroomy.
I'm now wearing the MET Trenta more often than the others, it's a great combination of features, light and aero. Fit oval shaped heads best. See my other video about it!
Do the people that make road bike helmets live underground? Why does no one make a road helmet with a visor? I happen to ride in the daylight, and I'm not fond of the sun in my eyes. And no, I don't want to wear solar-eclipse level sunglasses to keep the sun out of my eyes...
It's a fair point, I believe it's to accommodate riders that have a very aggressive position on road bikes and keep the head low. This way a visor might limit the forward view. I always wear sunglasses, but you might try a cycling cap with a visor?
@@fede1275 A cap would be way to hot, not to mention uncomfortable under a helmet. And you can make visors adjustable (to flip up when your head is low), and removable (for cloudy days, etc.).. My current road helmets all have visors (giro, limar), but they are older models...
Fantastic review, the man is a natural, and i actually got to meet him today, Thank you Federico, all the best Paul.
Thank you so much Paul!! All the best.
This was just what I was looking for to see how the Lazer Tonic looks like when put on. Great review! Thanks a lot :)
Thank you!
i guess it is kind of off topic but do anyone know a good place to stream new series online ?
@Andrew Gary flixportal =)

Excellent video and content, good man ..thank you !
Thank you, that was my first video!
awsome review!
Thank you!
Great Reviews. Friend.👍👍👍
Signore, may I suggest a career as a cycling helmet model? Loved the review.
Grazie mille!

I would like to ask the brand of your cycling glasses. They look great.
Thank you for watching! The glasses are a cheap Velochampion Tornado model. Lately I have been riding Siroko K3, bit larger for better protection.
MAIN QUESTION: What's the least dorky bicycle helmet and how much does it cost?
Fair question, I would say the Bontrager Velocis MIPS. Around £110 right now.

Good video
Thank you, I'm adding some more, just need to find more time to do them!
I'm trying to find a decent helmet which will NOT make my head look like a mushroom. Which would you recommend from these?

Sorry the Trenta is featured in another video! The MET Manta is also low volume, but might be a bit hot in the summer
@@fede1275 Thank you very much..I'll look into it.
What helmet do you recommend ?? I have Kask Valero … light & comfortable
now looking for a new helmet

Which model helmet is the blue one you bought for your son?
It's a POC Octal, size small
I like Lazer Tonic
Even ugly guy like me looks good with velocis 🤣. Great helmet!
Same here!! Definitely the best looking helmet I have, MET Trenta close second.

I see, actually the Bontrager Velocis comes with a small removable visor, I did not try it, but it might work.
