On the side note, we drove Huracan and we preferred Maserati Granturismo's emotional and its analog. Don't get BMW or AMG as they are not well designed nor reliable as F136 engine. It's also a good DIY engine.
2018+ MCs are perfection. Sounds great with F136 V8 same structure as the 458. ZF tranny is slower but more reliable than the Getrag. Maserati has rich history and heritage as Ferrari. MCs are rare too, equivalent as 458 Speciale.
For me it's nothing to do with impressing anyone, the people I care about don't even know I own it. It's purely about the value proposition and driving experience and brand heritage. The cars are depreciated as if they're all money pits, yet granturismos have been stone reliable for going on ten years now. There's no other car like it for the money, period
I agree with everything you said - and the sound of the V8 engine is just amazing; I enjoy driving mine so much ... plus I personally think it is one of the most beautiful Granturismo ever designed ... sometimes I just go to my garage just to look at it ... God I love this car ...
I agree with you. I own 2012 Granturismo S and 2005 Quattroporte both have been very reliable and great ownership experience All the negative comments on UA-cam are from people who have never owned or driven one
Better or worse the brand seems very exclusive. Coupled with very high parts and service costs, (and old rumors of Italian reliability, people are either lured in or turned away completely... Especially given everything its competing with. If it weren't for the strong Family ties with Ferrari, I think you are right that Maserati may have gone the way of Saab. But since it has not, there is a mystery around Maserati that I think many still find intriguing.

Can anyone tell me what that clanking sound at idle is? I've been told its a normal quirk. But what's causing it?
