Siamoy Stewart, a master's student of Tourism at the University of Guelph, dives into her studies on how the Jamaica Tourism Board can market the island to Gen Z travelers using TikTok. Despite having less money than baby boomers, Gen Z's are currently the largest travel demographic.
She also shares the challenges of studying abroad in Canada as someone from the Caribbean, gives tips for those planning to study abroad, her experience growing up and how she went from being 'foreign-minded' to patriotic towards Jamaica.

I'm 3rd generation Jamaican British woman living in Britain after my grandparents emigrated here as a part of the Windrush generation. This place is straight up Babylon, in the subtlest of ways. My grandparents were my only connection to the island, and all of us grandkids clung to the culture through the ground food they cooked, their music, their accents. Now that they have passed, I long to go to the island. The last time I visited, I was a child. All I know us, we are very very spiritually powerful, creative people, and I'm so proud of my family, heritage, and african-caribbean background
