It's so good to see you Demond Wilson. I loved you on Sanford and Son. So that's where you went! God bless your ministry and I always love to hear what the Lord has done in the lives of celebrities. Beautiful!
I've known this for a long time. Nobody gets anywhere in Hollywood without selling out. People like Demond Wilson who stand for what is right and aren't willing to trade their moral values for money and fame don't get far. You don't have to be talented to become a Hollywood star. All you have to do is sell out. Once you do that the studios own you for life. They make you and they can just as easily end your career if you go against them. Some people can't live with the knowledge of what they had to do to get their careers. It's the reason a lot of celebrities commit suicide.
Dude, literally everyone sells out. Corporations are fiefdoms. If you want to make money or make money with anyone else you have to compromise your principles in one fashion or another. Some people are just willing than others to get ahead or survive. Noone gets to the top of the foodchain without getting their hands dirty regardless of their career choice because all the other people up top are sharks too.
I grew up watching Demond Wilson. He was always a great actor and never involved in any foolishness! I hated to see him as well as a lot of great black actors leave Hollywood but he knew things going on behind the scenes that we didn’t. I’m just glad he’s healthy, still looks great, and still dignified! 👍🏽
Demond Wilson was most certainly involved in foolishness. Again, folks never took the time to see his older interviews. He was into drugs heavy and got one of his friends killed as a result.
He was involved in a lot of foolishness..the internet hadn't been born yet, so you'd have to wait until your Jet or Ebony mag arrived to get the tea. He was not a good person.
Dumb question, he already said he's not a bend over billy. He had a good run, he moved onto another segment of his life, the ministry. Everyone doesn't want to be apart of that sinister world for the rest of their life.. Demond has spoken like this about Hollyweird for years. Whatever his name is should have done some research. I watched an interview with Demond a couple weeks ago. When Norman Lear passed. He spoke the same way.
COOKED……well done Demond Wilson. He told it to him straight with knowledge, authority & class. I felt bad for the interviewer but these old school cats don’t mess around! You gotta do your homework, for REAL!
This is why our younger generation is off the chain. People are always trying to coddle them instead of teaching them and steering them in the right direction. 😊
AMEN ! You have so spoken to the heart of the matter so directly! Now that this dysfunctional dynamic has been allowed to continue without proper correction, we increasingly lose sight of a appropriate point of reference as a society. Small wonder then that we are de -volving daily ! ! !
He was being a dick. If someone didn't do their research when interviewing me, I'd just answer their question without trying to make them look bad. He likes that he's older, and gets to tell the young guy 'how it is'. Ego
Respect knowledge. He was teaching, not being a jerk. Actually he was schooling him at that. If you do the interview do the homework first. If the young brother listened to the advice Mr. wilson gave him. He can become a great interviewer. I respect the interviewer because he respected his Elder, listened and didn’t get offended.
Much respect for this man. Just learning he is a Vietnam vet. Welcome home soldier. Great memories of the TV show. These old cats know their business and have discipline and respect.
He is an exceptionally astute elderly gentleman. Fortunately, he distanced himself from the Hollywood scene, as he is well aware of the dubious intentions of those individuals who are associated with the entertainment industry.

I've known for years that Desmond went into full-time ministry. That's been known since the 80s actually. What had me laughing is when Desmond said he had a suit that was older than the interviewer. That told me that Desmond still has his comedy gene.
But why was he so intent on belittling the interviewer? Seems so unnecessary and unprofessional. Even if the interviewer is unpolished, still learning, Wilson seemed to take a lot of delight in belittling the guy. Not a good look, especially for a minister.
@@Theywaswrong if Desmond is anything like me, he doesn't tolerate foolishness. As a preacher myself, I use a philosophy that my mother (another preacher) used: where you did it is where you get it. For me, if you effectively shut a person down the first time, chances are they won't do it a second time. Now, you may not agree with how Desmond spoke to the young man, but I bet the interviewer will do his homework more thoroughly from now on. It's a case of the end justifying the means. You may not like what he said, but guess what? There's nothing you can do about it. Desmond didn't ask for your opinion nor mine, so how we feel doesn't matter.

Many people do not realize that these famous TV and movie actors came out of the theatre first. They were well trained. Although television and movie staging and set up is different (camera) and must be learned, they had to 'get it right' because of a live audience.
Demond Wilson is not the one. And what's interesting is that the way he answers questions is not to be rude, but to enlighten. He told the young man that "he didn't do his homework." And since he didn't now I have to educate you on me. That's your Great Uncle sitting in the living room sharing his life experiences. And those conversations are always direct. ALWAYS. Hats off, Minister Wilson. More like you need to be highlighted in this world.
As a white man I grew up watching Sanford and Son. And for some reason I saw something in Desmonds acting that didn't seem to be just playing a part. Little things in his portrayal of his character came through as his real personality came through. Things like his commitment to do the right thing. This man is a true man in the sense of standing on principle. I'm so glad that he stayed true to himself and his calling to take a stand for right. I would love to shake this man's hand.we need more men of character in this world.
Same here. I liked his character, Lamont, and always wondered if he was the same in real life as his character. My grandmother loved watching Sanford and Son and she would always stop her housework to watch and we'd watch with her whenever we were there visiting.

You could tell the comics were backing off Wilson towards the end and could tell he didn’t want to be there.
Much respect to the interviewer for keeping his respect to the OG when he was being corrected. It takes a man to sit there and take it with out talking back or going back and fourth. Much respect! Absolutely LOVED Sandford and son). great interview
Yeah them old ninja be mean. Almost got into it with this old head bus driver talking to me crazy.
@@P8860they’re straightforward. They don’t have patience for clowns

Yeah he jus bein old for real lol
He can't interview the man like everyone knows about him. He gotta ask questions whether he knows the answers or not because some of us don't know. Hell with him if he mad. Don't agree to be interviewed then.
I’m loving this interview with Rev. Demond Wilson. I need to see the full interview. We need more men like him with integrity, and authenticity!

He's reminding me of Judge Joe Brown more and more!
@MisterMikeTexas hahaha.. yeah, JJB is definitely a real one. I can listen to these two brothers talk and share their experiences all day

DEMOND WILSON IS THE TRUTH!
He sure is💯
@@vonda6903 Hey 👋🏿 😘
@@hassanburton669 AMEN
He said they all have to sell out to make it in Hollywood including himself
Much respect to Demond Wilson. He got out of "HollyWeird' in 1982. Said that he was never about of that life. Anyone who made it big there had to do something strange to make that change. I heard that! FACTS!!!
We loved watching him on that show, missed him even more when he left it...the show was never the same. You can tell by his demeanor that he's a man's man, we love this interview.
He has aged so gracefully.
It's the Holy Spirit living in him.
Bend over Billy's....yo, he's telling y'all about Hollyweird 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@desecration171 it depends on the career
Where Wesley, Denzel and Samuel Jackson sold out at
Yup! They off themselves, or are 'suicided' via satanic rituals (often involves water, bathtub).
The TRUUUTH ‼️💯
I grew up watching Demond Wilson. He was always a great actor and never involved in any foolishness! I hated to see him as well as a lot of great black actors leave Hollywood but he knew things going on behind the scenes that we didn’t. I’m just glad he’s healthy, still looks great, and still dignified! 👍🏽
💯
Demond Wilson was most certainly involved in foolishness. Again, folks never took the time to see his older interviews. He was into drugs heavy and got one of his friends killed as a result.
He was involved in a lot of foolishness..the internet hadn't been born yet, so you'd have to wait until your Jet or Ebony mag arrived to get the tea. He was not a good person.
Right..he's always been my favorite back then.still nice looking ❤
I was blessed to see him preach in the DC region in the late 80s, just before I left for Africa. So inspiring!!
A journalist is supposed to do their homework.
I didn't feel bad for him at All. Hope he learned his lesson in dealing with REAL ELDERS. THIS GENERATION TAKE NOTE 📝.
A real OG
Feel sorry for him for what you can't cheat he should have done his homework really
@@frederickweeksjr.1189 No need to feel bad for him. Demond didn't cuss him out, lol. Folks are soft as oven baked cookies nowadays.
50 years old myself and still watching SANFORD AND SON!!! I would love to meet this man what a true class act!!!
This is why our younger generation is off the chain. People are always trying to coddle them instead of teaching them and steering them in the right direction. 😊
This is an interview between two adult men who have no connection to each other. There was no need for Mr. Wilson to behave the way that he did.
@@Roqui2009 What way? What did he do?
AMEN ! You have so spoken to the heart of the matter so directly! Now that this dysfunctional dynamic has been allowed to continue without proper correction, we increasingly lose sight of a appropriate point of reference as a society. Small wonder then that we are de -volving daily ! ! !
How can you not like this guy. He gave a valuable lesson to a young interviewer you didn’t do your homework words to live by
It's almost like he watched ONE episode of Sandford and Son before the interview.

I have Sanford and Son on DVD and I dig it every time watch it, jive-ass turkey!
“You didn’t do your homework.” Says it all. Well said.
I thought maybe you did your homework before you interviewed me.......lesson
😂
💣💣💣😎
He was being a dick. If someone didn't do their research when interviewing me, I'd just answer their question without trying to make them look bad. He likes that he's older, and gets to tell the young guy 'how it is'. Ego
Respect knowledge. He was teaching, not being a jerk. Actually he was schooling him at that. If you do the interview do the homework first. If the young brother listened to the advice Mr. wilson gave him. He can become a great interviewer. I respect the interviewer because he respected his Elder, listened and didn’t get offended.
I had no idea he had gone into the ministry. Praise God! Looking forward to meeting you in Heaven, Mr. W.

Its so good to hear you im 65 so i was really into sanford and son and all the reruns . I really am glad you were and are your own man. People sell their souls like that proverbial bowl of soup. It is so good to see you,And doing so well❤️

That part cracked me up lol. 😂
Can he still fit it, even if he can it's out of date.
I used to have a jacket that was 30 years old, got rid of it last year...had it since 8th grade. Didn't grow much since then
0:36 That had me deading with laughter. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂#Bars📶📶📶📶📶📶📶📶📶📶
That was rude. So the guy is young, so what? He agreed to answer questions, then belittled him for asking questions.
Desmond is as sharp as a tack. Good for him and thank you for bringing this to us.
Glad he’s alive and living and well 🙏🏾
Thank you man of God!- Everybody keep asking for clarity when the people keep telling you the same thing!! These people are selling their souls and bootyholes!
🤭🤭🤭
All for money and fame. I want money like everyone else but I'm not selling those two things to get it.
@@ramakrishnashalom9004 I think part of it is the fear of poverty and letting people down. A lot of these people actually need deliverance and protection. That's why a lot of them believe telling the truth equals a torturous demise. Look at how they did Micheal Jackson and more people. They will turn the public and black celebrities against you before they get you.
Great interview, Jon. As for Wilson, love this guy. He's his own man. Total hats off to him.
Respect to a man of integrity and morals. He saw the $ and heard the lords call and answered the call. I would imagine he would have well. Gotta respect the guy for not compromising himself.
Demond is a rare breed. God bless him and his family.
Just a fantastic insight into the industry from one of my favorite personalities of all time. I knew diamond has been a reverend for years and years. To see him all these years later is fantastic 😂❤

That's right Mr. Desmond Wilson. Educate the uninformed young man. I remember when he became ordained. I remember him performing in stage plays too. Desmond Wilson was always featured in Jet magazine during the 70s and early 80s. He was one cool guy back then.

Many people do not realize that these famous TV and movie actors came out of the theatre first. They were well trained. Although television and movie staging and set up is different (camera) and must be learned, they had to 'get it right' because of a live audience.

The most respect for Demond Wilson… preaching the Word as well…
Demond Wilson is not the one.

I totally agree he who is without saying let him cast the first stone. What I hear is truth mixed with bitterness because some things didn't go right for him. I've always been a fan but his interview turns me off a little bit.
