How to DIY repair / fix clutch or throttle cables for cheap and anywhere in the world?
Soldering the ends on the stainless steel cable is reasonably easy and any garage in the world is able to fix the cable for you.
This is an evolution of the way how I fix my clutch cables as well as the update to the previous video on the topic: • Maintenance - Cheap re...
I've taken the feedback and the experience with the cables I made and put together some more information on how to make & solder cables in much better way.

Nice to see a follow up video. Modern repair parts are much nicer than in the day. Your method is excellent, thanks.
Thanks, yep the parts make it not just a fix/repair but a good clutch cable. I'll just carry the parts with me, soldering can be done anywhere.
Really handy stuff to know. Thank you
Most welcome, glad it’s useful.
Hi, nice vid and great how-to.
To my experience, the stability is further increased when you unfold the single strands of the cable (like a blossom) in the nipple before soldering.
This gives you some extra miles....Have a nice weekend..
Yes, that is very good tip indeed. Yes should have spread them a bit more.
Just found the channel. Is the intention to eventually enter a rally race on the T700?
Hey, I have raced last year Dinaric rally with the T700 and in August I’m doing it again 👍
Respect to the knowledge.. Anyone that believes, like me, that 2 euro`s is expensive for a tiny piece of metal gets my vote.. Haven`t got a Tenere 700 yet! But this data makes buying one less of a guess.. Travel Far Travel Safe..
Hi Vincent, €2 is a bit high for a tiny piece of metal, I agree with you, I think they will be available from different sellers for cheaper. However original Yamaha clutch cable is €€€ in comparison.
Also, if you don't want to buy the end/barrels it is possible to make those from scratch. I have older video on the topic where I use that method saving you €2.
Also it really would not matter which bike it, it's bike agnostic.
