This channel has to be one of the best for the average user/builder and not the person with an unlimited bank account some of the bigger tech UA-camrs seem to think exist. Honestly some amazing content , the quality is honestly up there with the big ones while being ultimately more humble and down to earth. There’s only a few of you around such as Britec09 , adamantIT and randomgaminginhd. keep it up! Also I just purchased this case , gonna move my Ryzen 5 3600 , GTX 980 build in :))

I bought this case and it's very nice, however I did have a problem with it. The rear fan on mine wasn't spinning unless pushed to start it off. I contacted the vendor who supplied a replacement fan and it didn't spin either. Then found the button on the fan hub for fan speed and pushed it, and all fans started spinning much faster. I then put the original fan back and now even on low speed it now spins. I'm not quite sure what's going on so have e-mailed GameMax to see what they say, I was thinking maybe it's part of the design for the back fan to not spin on low (but they haven't said that anywhere), but now it's actually working I'm thinking it might be a loose connection in the fan hub or similar (seems unlikely to be the fan itself given I had issues with two). Instructions with the remote would be nice too, took me a while to figure out where to point the thing for it to do anything (front bottom of the case). Overall happy with the case, just puzzled!

I do like that case actually. Not really liked some of the latest GameMax cases but this I like.
Reason why bottom filter isn't always magnetic is because the magnets are not really all that strong and especially if you put lower fans in a push configuration, the filter would just fall off.

I bought a Corsair iCUE 4000D RGB AIRFLOW Mid Tower, and a Corsair iCUE H115i ELITE CAPELLIX XT 280mm Liquid CPU cooler. The rad wouldn't fit the top of the case without getting in the way of the CPU power cable, had to front mount it, now the 4090 GC won't fit because of the iCUE radiator fans at the front. I never thought that cases would give me techno-fear. I find cases too small nowadays.

Another excellent review. Liked it that much I bought it. Just re-installed everything from the old pc case last night into the f15. The cable management is very good on this case managed the neatest job I've ever done. The only things I had trouble with were a standoff that kept spinning round and round and the thumbscrews on the back panel weren't great. But apart from that it gets 9.5/10. CPU temp has dropped to 20°C and max of 48°C running prime95 torture test. Lol. I left the bios update that can be done at a later date. Runs great!

I just picked up a neutron labs W05 mesh, which looks literally exactly the same down to the smallest detail bar the front panel design - I'm convinced they came out the same factory. (You can see all the same features on your own Neutron labs case review).
The W05 just comes with a simple fan hub (no speed control) but it was £40!! Crazy cheap, very hard to justify the Lian Li 215 (i bought a 205 before this and didn't see the value in it looking at the so-so quality)
I wanted a budget airflow case of a reasonable size (able to fit a triple fan GPU if i ever upgrade), a single HDD caddy as this makes it much easier for GPU wire space, properly removable pcie slot covers, captive thumb screws. This ticks all the boxes and for a great price. Plus less extreme front panel design then the coolermaster.
Only downsides as you noted, very basic bottom filter, and right clearance to PSU shroud so you can't easily use the rear two cut-outs. Also don't know if it's just me but the rear of the GPU doesn't seem to fit in quite flush, the pcie fixing panel distance to the motherboard position looks to be a couple mm too long so i may look to modify somehow for a more secure connection.
    Nice review 👍

thanks John, i agree totally having also owned the 215, the neutron is the better option and i wired my fans to the motherboard and used the hub for ARGB only and it makes it a much better option when in stock

Fantastic and really helpful review. I just picked up a second hand Hp Omen 30l with a 10900k processor and an RTX 3090. To say the (beautiful) case is inadequate is an understatement. One 120m intake, a 120m aio and a 90mm output fan is nowhere near enough for the notoriously hot running cpu, especially with the bulky 3090 effectively forming a barrier along the middle of the case above the air intake, preventing most of it from getting anywhere near the cpu. Couple that with HPs crippled bios allowing no fan ramping and it's a great device for cooking eggs on. :-)
I've opted for this case based on this review and will transplant the lot into it. I'll put the 120mm intake from the HP at the top with the 120mm aio and see how that works out, though I can always fit at 240 or 280mm aio but I think it will be more than good enough.
Great videos and simple, clear, thorough and informative review style. Have subscribed.

Great review as usual. Does the vertical GPU mount render the rest of the PCI-E slots unusable? I have a matx motherboard I'd like to relocate to reduce temperatures. I'd also like to keep it quite compact but notice there's not a huge size difference between this and the kamikaze pro what would you choose between the two for a Matx build?

Hi Mike, awesome review, to the point and informative at the same time - I ordered this case because of it! I do have one question, not sure if you can help. I'm thinking of maybe switching out my Arctic Freezer eSports 34 Duo for an AIO, and looking at, for instance, the Cooler Master ML240R. Would I be able to plug its aRGB leads into the hub box? RGB compatibility seems like such a mess right now, and I don't know if Cooler Master (or any other manufacturer) is going to insist on their own protocols, and google isn't helping much. I've only got a Tomahawk Max motherboard at the moment, so the hub is going to be in charge of aRGB for the foreseeable.
I've also considered the Gamemax Ice Chill 240 aRGB, because presumably their own gear should work with each other(!), but it's not as reviewed (or well reviewed, for that matter), so would prefer something more tried and true if possible.

@@mikesunboxing Thank you. Is there anything specific about the design you don't like or is it just the way it looks?
One of the reasons I'm thinking of changing is GPU clearence. I have a MSI Suprim X 3080 ready to go in the new build and the card is 336mm, the F15 has a clearance of 365mm and the Df700 has 405mm but I'm not sure if that includes the installed fans on both.

How do you connect the fan hub to the mobo....where does it go....sorry for the noob question, I’m starting my first build in this case

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  4 роки тому

the fan hub connects to the motherboards ARGB 5v 3 pin header or if your board doesnt have that you have use the included remote control to cycle lighting options and fans speeds

Mike's unboxing, reviews and how to sk of my board doesn’t have that(AsRock B550 Phantom 4) where else do I plug it into? Just the normal case fan headers?

Mike, hope you don't mind me asking.
Are you able to control the fans PWM via the motherboard, does the fan speed show up in the bios.
    Thanks

i would connect the fans directly to the motherboard for really great control

Are the fans standard 3 or 4 pin with separate RGB control.
So many variations between companies and what they use.
I did message Gamemax but no reply.
      Thanks Mike.

Hi Mike, bought this case after your review. thanks for thorough review, i am happy with my purchase. Just one question, in terms of mounting the PSU with fan facing up - is this possible and how? or is it dependent on the PSU as mine only appears to align to the screw holes when facing down.

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  3 роки тому

it should work either way but there is no right or wrong way

@@mikesunboxing the screw holes on a PSU are not symmetrical, this means that unless the case has 8 mounting holes or a removable mounting bracket that can be flipped it can only be fitted one way, unfortunately this case only supports PSU fan down.

Hi Mike, excellent review. Any idea if the RGB will work with an Asrock B450 Steel Legend? also can you connect the AMD wraith RGB to the controller as well?

the case will sync perfectly with the steel legend but the prism uses a USB connection

@@JohnDavidSullivan to be honest in this case there is so much airflow a decent 120mm tower performs as good if not better than an AIO due to the way tower coolers heat rises and falls quicker than fluids.
