I like the date window as it completes the dial which also has white numerals. It will look blank if it's black.
Clean, Clear, Uncluttered review - very well done, Oracle Time! 👏🏻👍🏻🥂
Welcome back! Wow, a Laureus edition Mark XVIII, don’t see that on the tube very often. I own both the Lauris and a black dial Mark XVIII on a bracelet, always my go to watches. As an owner of many watches and brands from Oris to PP (and most everything in between) I find the IWC’s to be consistently the most reliable and best finished. This an objective comparison based on what I own and have experienced over many years; subjectively, of course, opinions on styling and or value are left to each individual. Personally I won’t jump to the XX as I find the Mark XVIII on bracelet absolutely the sweet-spot pilots watch, but if I didn’t own the XVIII’s it would center up on my radar screen for certain. Thanks for sharing and HNY!!!!
nice to have you back!
The only need for a colour matched date wheel is when it’s floating this the neather. When it replaced a white numberal it’s best to be the same colour as the numeral or else an un balanced black hole appears
Just give us a no date option and this would be king.
Right?????? What was on their mind?
No date and this will be sold out
I'm not fond of the white date window either... I was also wondering what happened to the 19! Maybe they just thought XIX looked messy. Would have liked to see a bit on the 17 as it differed much more than the others in the range with the 41mm case and extended (albeit black) date window.
Definitely an improvement over the 18, I'll be hanging onto my 18 for now as I prefer the black date window.
Best ever
Ahhhh the iwc mark series are some of my favorite watches but the date windows drive me nuts, it’s the only reason I won’t buy one, all previous models had the date windows at the wrong place due to the eta movement and now with the in-house movement and correct place they chose to make it a white date wheel?!? IWC PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE JUST MAKE A NO DATE MARK, you should have done this from the very beginning. Absolutely ruins what is otherwise a perfect watch.
what a shame, they put that silly little date
We cant have a perfect watch. Can we?
