- In 1993 IWC launched the Mk XII and made a few modern updates to one of the most classic and iconic military pilot watches ever produced. The first major difference and or upgrade between the IWC Mk XI and the IWC Mk XII was the addition of an automatically winding movement the IWC cal.884, which is based on the JLC 889/2 that includes a date complication which sits in a soft iron case to help repel issues related to magnetism. Additionally, modern functional and cosmetic changes included a sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown for extra water-resistance as well as a more modern and proportionate 36mm case what either came on an IWC mesh style bracelet and or strap.

How can anyone not like this watch? It is such a gem (and the bracelet is a gift that keeps on giving) Also, I spat out my coffee at 6:00... so thanks for that.
hehe just for you babe!
the clasp is brilliant owned mine since 1997.
Love the show Cam. You are a good dude, one of the few watch youtubers I'd actually like to sit down, have a drink, and talk watches with.
You are welcome to come by our offices in LA anytime man!!
I have mark 16 but now I want this one mark 12. love it!
I bet!
It’s funny as I have just purchased a 2013 homage to this watch from the highly respected timefactors in the U.K. ( though my version was made in German for timefactors) an incredible watch with amazing details such as a 1.2mm thick soft iron dial and inner case which gives an 80,000A/m antimagnetic rating, 2.5 mm domed sapphire crystal that is mounted so it withstands negative pressure in the event of a drop in cabin pressure at altitude and a screw in rather than press fit stem tube for the screw down crown. Case and bracelet made by Fricker in German who make cases for Sinn amongst others. I got it as I always loved this design!
they are no joke serious watches... a wolf in sheep's clothing as one might say!!
I have the very same piece,a speedbird in 36mm
It's incredibly good.
Amazing watch, great bead of rice bracelet (not mesh 😊)
It sounds sacrilegious but I wish IWC would bring this design aesthetic back for the entire mark line. I know Hodinkee attempted a limited run but I feel the current mark just looks too much like a mini pilot (which they already have as well). I’d love the mark 12 design with modern guts/micro adjustments
Well said!
Until then, we will stick with Mark XV
I have been praying for IWC to make this exact watch for years now. A Mark XII and a Mark XI reissue in 36mm, 38mm and 41mm with the amazing new bracelets that have the was-x change system!
Another amazing video Cam!!
thanks my dude!!
Love the video and the Watch, excellent channel
Thanks, man! very much appreciate that stay tuned we have some great upcoming episodes in store!

I was given this watch by a friend some years back...i just had it "serviced" by IWC Milan and it cost 865 € for the service. I sure would like that bracelet...
It's a great piece!
Awesome dude, awesome watch! I had a NOS Mark XV but let it go last year (regretfully now). It was on it's original buffalo strap and deployant, but if it had have been on this rice bracelet I would never have sold it! I have a 90's JLC Master Control on an almost identical bracelet and the thing is like metallic silk, so I get why you're drooling :-)
they are great watches. I am really getting into watches without many complications where simplicity is the main point of the watch!!
+1 keepin’ it real!
😎😎😎😎
That watch disappeared pretty quickly from the C&T site.
Was on the site for about 3 hours... Not super easy to find them anymore and the cult following is real!
Yea Dave, put it in!!
hehehe 420 pm. Nicely done!
