On lunch and just seen this. Thank you. I'll definitely go back and double check that and hopefully I won't have any other issues if that is the problem.

Nice OBS F350 back there with the flat bed!!👍
Trying to diagnose nonworking front side marker lights on a 2005 Mustang. Front markers and turn signals work fine, as do the rear side markers and taillights/turn signals/brake lights.

Hi, that's gonna be a little bit tough since i dont have a mustang to try to mimic the same thing and give you a legit answer.
A couple of things you can try as Long as you have a Multimeter on you is:
      1. Unplug the side marker light bulb from one of the side marker sockets and test the voltage with the lights on, if you get 12 volts running and when you turn off your lights the voltage goes to 0 then its most likely a blown light.
      2. If there is no voltage at all being read by the Multimeter when you turn your lights on its possible that it could be a blown fuse or damaged relay which can cause the lights to not wsnt to power on.
I hope that helps, i wish i could be of more help to you. 🙏🙇‍♂️

Unfortunately, it is possible the LEDs went bad on you. When I did my HID conversion, the side marker was completely dead on one of the headlamps I bought from eBay. You cant just go buy a side marker either because its made into the lamp. I ended up cutting it out of the SEL lamp assembly that I had removed and cut the exact area on the HID to fit it in perfectly. If you go that route, make sure you keep as much of the wire length as possible so you can run it to the harness. Couldnt understand how the LEDs would have blown as the other side worked fine when I put power to it.

Do you know some about a Chevy Tahoe 2009 I’m having the same problems right now with the side marker/parking lights too

Hmmm...... on your Tahoe if it's like the Silverado there is the black box underneath the steering wheel that has a large relay in it, it controls the turn signal flashing as well as the lights being on during the night time similar to what I had on the video. In your situation you may have to go the easiest route and carefully check the fuses to make sure none of them are blown as there may be a fuse that is connected to those lights that are not part of the flashing mechanism or the more complex side which is having to remove the plastic cover underneath the steering wheel to access that large relay from that box I mentioned earlier. I wish I could be of more help but since I don't have a Tahoe it would be difficult to mimic the same issue and find a fix for it. 🙏🙇‍♂️

I am having the same problem in my 2006 nissan pathfinder, blinkers work but not the side lamps or running lights. The fuse for the running lights appears to be fine :(

Have you had a chance to test out the wires rhay connect to the side markers and daytime running lights with a Multimeter to see if they give you any power? It could be that the bulbs burned out and will probably need to be replaced if you do get power out of the wiring or it can also be a Relay that the lights are tied down to. If you happen to have the owners manual for your car ot might show you the relay the lights are tied down to on the side of the fuse for it. I hope this helps. 🙇‍♂️🙏

Haven't had a chance to do that yet, the bulbs for the side lamps aren't burnt out and the running lamp bulbs aren't either and the relays I've checked out seem to be fine. I haven't checked all the fuses though but I will, I'm hoping the one that burned out isn't one I'd expect.

@Trasc066 thats a good sign. In that case, yeah, you might have to check every fuse. Even this car i have has like a few fuses and relays linked like a chain with other components in the car. Like ill have the rear turn signal on the left side sharing a fuse with a puddle lamp on the front right side lol. Its crazy, i do hope you get to find out the problem.

This is for the switch back lights. The price went up a bit and you will need two pairs. 1 pair for each side.

Here is a link to my video on the GTR Lighting Switchbacks. They still work like a champ but on hot days they will hyper flash and will go back to normal speed once they cool down. They will also hyper flash if you had them on for too long on a turning lane like in Los Angeles where it takes almost 10 minutes to be able to make a left turn lol! 😅

Please select the ones that say: 3156/3157 Non-CK: GTR Carbide Canbus 2.0 LED (Switchback) this way you will get the daytime running cool white light and Amber color for your turn signals.

What if there is no power at the fuse?

    • @THEAVERAGEGUY1983
      @THEAVERAGEGUY1983  Рік тому

Hmmmm..... if there is no power at the fuse and the fuse is still good it could possibly be: 1. The wire underneath the fuse box could have gotten some corrosion and you may need to clean the wire connector so that it makes a proper contact or 2. The wire could be disconnected from the main power which will require you to do some troubleshooting and take apart the fuse panel which would be quite a bit of work using a Multimeter to check the lead from the battery to the fuse line that supplies power, the options with a Multimeter is to use the Audible Continuity Settings which causes the multimeter to make a beep sound when 1 end of the wire makes contact with the opposite end, this would also ensure that a little critter/wild life animal like a squirrel etc didn't get under your engine and started to chew up wires. Hope this helps.

Hmmmmm...... haven't had a chance to check out a frontier yet but have you checked the relay for it? I'm not 100% sure if it's the same like the flex that I have but if your turn signal lights are (ON) like daytime running lights or stay on when you have your headlights on at night it could be a relay that controls them. There are a couple of locations to check, one is in the engine bay and the other is on the driver side underneath the dashboard. I wish I knew more so I could help you better. 🙏🙇‍♂️
