Reed is a load on two feet. People did their homework in capturing each era in the movie. In the 9th grade, 1983, I wore my hair just like Dirk, except--more Morrisonish.
I was in line for There Will Be Blood last week and some guy behind me started singing this song, I was seriously laughing my ass off. He sang it just like Walberg too.
this 1 of the best scenes from the movie it is so funny. especially when jon c reilly is dancin in the mixing board room. i grew up in the 80's there were sum real cheesy songs but none as bad as you got the touch.
This is such a funny scene. Boogie nights is definitely one of the best films ever made and Whalberg is awesome and will hopefully win best supporting actor for the departed tonight.
As someone who grew up on g1 Transformers and seen Transformers the Movie at the Theater when it came out in 86 and owned it on VHS. I was about 20 years old when Boogie nights came out remember me and a friend went to go watch it at the Theater and a lot of the people there were about My age Most g1 fans were in there late teens or early 20's in 1997, I remember how random yet funny this scene was when it came on I remember Half of the Movie Theater Bursted out laughing I'm sure many where Transformers fans or people who had seen the Movie in the 80's lol.
You can't help but sing along with it.. Even though it's bad (in a good way). I love it!. Mark Wahlberg just rocks hehehe same as John C. Reilly. So funny!
This is one of the most intentionally funny scenes of all time. Reed Rothchild nodding in regard to the bass taking away from the vocals is hysterical, not to mention the dance moves stolen from "Breakin".
It's actually unintentionally funny. They found a demo tape of this song and so they used it for the movie, thinking it was just a shitty demo. But it was a leftover tape from an early '80s song for the Transformers movie. You can find the real song on here. When this came out the Transformers folks were rattled. Lol.
The actor who plays the role is the husband of Aimee Mann a fairly popular singer song writer and is in real life a sound engineer (or studio sound technician whatever they're calling them now) is real life.
A lot of great records were made at Sound City over the years..."Nevermind"... "Rated R"... "Undertow"..."At Last Bill Cosby Really Sings"; but decades from now will any be regarded so highly as this
This was 1 of the most surreal moments of my life. When this scene came on me and my friends all looked at each other and I said "is this the fucking song from Transformers the movie?" Unbelievable.
This is just great! Hilarious! Funniest scene in a film I've seen so far. Lol Mark said he couldn't sing for real but I think he wouldn't be behind the beat if he tried to. He was a rapper - some of his songs are really good, check them out. I love this film and Mark in it!
I remember the movie Cobra but Many don't even some people from the 80s don't reember it that well. my Point being Transformers the Movie basically Made this song Known most remember it because they seen Transformers as kids. thats why where still talking about it now. if it had been released on Cobra it would have long been forgotten.
Just saw the time stamp for this video! Can't believe it took this long for it to get into my recommendations! But fash trolls whining over Barbie instantly pop up! 🙄
Gotta get the whole single, you know they made him sing a whole song for the movie because they never know what they wanna use before they edit the movie so a ton of stuff ends up on the “Cutting Room Floor” so I know for 100% fact there’s a full song out there
i know this song from the Transformers cartoon movie (1986) - but i wiki'd - turns out it was "originally written for the Sylvester Stallone film Cobra". the song has appeared in other places, including American Dad. well done, stan bush...
Galvatron-"First Optimus Prime, then Ultra Magnus and now you. Its a pity you Autobots die so easliy or I might have a since of satisfaction now." Prime-"Arise Rodimus Prime." Hotrod-"Optimus?" Galvatron- "NO! NO!" Hotrod- "This is the end of the road Galvatron!"
Marky Mark and The Shake & Bake guy should put out a cd of these songs.
I've watched this scene hundreds of times and I've always smiled.
Theres something about how childish everyone is in the film that I love.
You sure got the touch, if only you had the voice, lol. Great movie!
i love this movie.
You'd think the sound guy would look more excited to be part of the process that is putting MAGIC on those tapes!
This movie has some real funny parts to it and this is just one of them.
stan bush rocks this song like no one could.
Reed is a load on two feet. People did their homework in capturing each era in the movie. In the 9th grade, 1983, I wore my hair just like Dirk, except--more Morrisonish.
The funniest part of this clip was John C. Reilly dancing to Wahlberg's horrible vocals! LMFAO a classic!!!!
I was in line for There Will Be Blood last week and some guy behind me started singing this song, I was seriously laughing my ass off. He sang it just like Walberg too.
Why tf🤣😭🤣😭😭
John c Reilly dancing is funny as shit
🤣 i know right
U have a major point.LOL I about fell off my chair reading your reply...i was laughing so hard. :-)
I remember seeing this scene in the theater and I just sat there mouth agape, I couldnt say anything LOL
Yup, the bass is definately invading upon
that brilliant vocal. What a voice!
How the hell Marky Mark kept a straight face when John C Reilly is dancing I'll never know.
John C. Reilly's dance is the funniest part of this scene. Man I love this movie.
Mark should have sung this in Transformers 4!!!!!!
What a big bright shining STAR!
I want this to be my ringtone and see how many people recognize it
this 1 of the best scenes from the movie it is so funny. especially when jon c reilly is dancin in the mixing board room. i grew up in the 80's there were sum real cheesy songs but none as bad as you got the touch.
pure genius, gotta love the drum machine
@0:54 Reed Rothchild, the proud stage mom
Even funnier now that he's starring in a Transformers movie.
LOL yeah, the producers probably thought it was a good idea to cast him after this movie.
This is such a funny scene. Boogie nights is definitely one of the best films ever made and Whalberg is awesome and will hopefully win best supporting actor for the departed tonight.
Why this song never made it on the Billboard Top Ten, I have no idea.
I fucking love this movie, Reed Rothchild is hilarious!

the bass is DEFINITELY taking away from the vocals
You can't help but sing along with it.. Even though it's bad (in a good way). I love it!.
Mark Wahlberg just rocks hehehe same as John C. Reilly. So funny!

Michael Bay saw this movie and said... Needs more boom
The expression on the Sound Guy/Producers' face when Dirk asks about the Bass taking away from the Vocals juts absolutely kills me every time!
hilarious
The actor who plays the role is the husband of Aimee Mann a fairly popular singer song writer and is in real life a sound engineer (or studio sound technician whatever they're calling them now) is real life.
When I sing this song, I am having a good time. The worse I sing it the better the time!
The best part is they think it's really good
Lol, he knows it's bad, but he's so full of himself he just can't see the big picture, and blames it on the mix instead. Hilarious.
imagine the G1 transformers with this
john johnson Teenager Optimus Prime.
Transformers: Age of Extinction post credit scene...
One of the best movies ever made.
Stan Bush, I recorded him singing in my first studio that was located in the dining room of my apartement, must have been 1996 or so. Good times!
"after all is said and done, you never walk you never run...YOURE A WINNER!"
Your a winner!!!! Best track
i like how at the end of each verse they use a pre-recorded chorus in sync to cover for Dirk's lack of vocal range :)
One of the greatest satire films ever. So effin' FUNNY. LMAO
A lot of great records were made at Sound City over the years..."Nevermind"... "Rated R"... "Undertow"..."At Last Bill Cosby Really Sings"; but decades from now will any be regarded so highly as this
For some reason this is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a movie
This was 1 of the most surreal moments of my life. When this scene came on me and my friends all looked at each other and I said "is this the fucking song from Transformers the movie?" Unbelievable.
Its a huge pet peeve for me too. I feel your pain too...trust me. I have said the exact same thing many a time on here.
i love how reed nods the whole time he asks about the bass
Man lol !! bendito he seems constipated he soo freakn cute it KILLS ME!! lol this always puts a smile on my face gooo Mark lol

This is just great! Hilarious! Funniest scene in a film I've seen so far. Lol
Mark said he couldn't sing for real but I think he wouldn't be behind the beat if he tried to. He was a rapper - some of his songs are really good, check them out.
I love this film and Mark in it!
but i love john c Reilly's dance moves even more. rock on sir
Dirk was absolutely right. THEIR STUFF WAS THAT GOOD!
Best song Night Ranger ever did.
"the touch" written by Stan Bush for the animated version of "Transformers : The Movie" from the 80's. haha awesome! SUCH a great scene!
haha, i love it. reilly is so funny when his head is shaking in the background and when he says "okay, you heard him nick, let's do it."
When this clip was uploaded, John hadn't even starred in talledega nights yet!!!
Boogie nights is fucking hilarious! I love this LOL!
"YOUR A WINNER!" lol
:53 pan over to Riley, hilarious
this scene is pure magic, comic and tragic all at once
I totally rock this jam when I'm playing World of Warcraft!!!
and to think we mostly all dressed like that too in the 80's oohh godddd. lol
this is one of the greatest scenes in movie history..
The Touch by Stan Bush?!?!? Classic... Might also want to hear Dare as well.
Dirk Diggler's hairstyle shows that the producer's of this movie realized that the early 1980s were not exactly a clean break from the 70s.
lmao. hell yeah, that riff was hilarious!! thanks for pointing that out!
this is by far one of the funniest scenes ever on so many levels!!
This should be featured on one of those American Idol outtakes!
Hilarious! 5 stars just for the bad hair!
This is such a funny scene to post, thank you..xx
mark whalberg is a natural....he always does the unexpected. this right here is hilarious...awesome flick...
this would be a badass ringtone
I laugh every time the camera turns to the booth and Reilly is rockin out.
Greatest cornball scene ever!
I remember the movie Cobra but Many don't even some people from the 80s don't reember it that well. my Point being Transformers the Movie basically Made this song Known most remember it because they seen Transformers as kids. thats why where still talking about it now. if it had been released on Cobra it would have long been forgotten.
HAHA! That's hilarious! I 100% believe you too.
THat was f-ing hilarious. NOt too many people would recognize this song. THat is probably why it is spoofed .
Hahaha. Funny thing is that during the scene in the movie when Sam gets the Matrix, everybody in the theater started to sing this song. XD
Sweet like Sunkist make you wanna know who done this... c'mon c'mon feel it feel it...
John C. Reilly dancing in the booth is goddamn amazing
I think this part is devastatingly hilarious!! LMFAO
Aw they never get to the "Its in the mighty hands of steal line"
I saw this clip YEARS ago on VH1 as a commercial and thought it was taken from the Partridge Family. I now feel like an idiot...
I Love you for posting this!!!
Just saw the time stamp for this video! Can't believe it took this long for it to get into my recommendations!
But fash trolls whining over Barbie instantly pop up! 🙄
"You think the bass is taking away from my vocals?"

¡¡Que gran pelicula!!mark Walberg esta espectacular en esta escena(como en toda la pelicula) es para cagarse de risa!!EXCELENTE
' YOU'RE A WINNER! '
I am glad time is so fucked up in this movie The Touch was released in 86
I thought this song was at it's pinnacle when it was in the 80s Transformers film, I was wrong, Amazing.
Yeah it's like.. SUPER FUN haha.
I really want to see this movie! (I haven't seen it yet :( )
Gotta get the whole single, you know they made him sing a whole song for the movie because they never know what they wanna use before they edit the movie so a ton of stuff ends up on the “Cutting Room Floor” so I know for 100% fact there’s a full song out there

Just found out that this is a real song - I was a little too old for Transformers. This version is the best! :)
This song motivates me...this and my ring entrance song, "The People's Court Theme."
I LMAO everytime I see this part of the movie!
marky mark making a cameo, ladies and gentlemen
Galvatron-"First Optimus Prime, then Ultra Magnus and now you. Its a pity you Autobots die so easliy or I might have a since of satisfaction now."
Prime-"Arise Rodimus Prime."
Hotrod-"Optimus?"
Galvatron- "NO! NO!"
Hotrod- "This is the end of the road Galvatron!"
im ready to run the gauntlet a/f listin to THE TOUCH
This is still easier on the ears than Stan Bush's rejected 2009 "remake" of The Touch.
Hahahaha. This must be one of the many MANY things (along with Marky Marc And The Funky Bunch) that Mark Wahlbergh doesn't even want his kids to see.
They're awesome! thats whats up
