    The Lonestar has the best master and output attenuator I've ever heard. Bedroom level is absolutely no problem.

      @@therooster6071 I had both, the classic is 6L6 and more headroom/watt. If you like clear and spanky (Fender) go classic, if you like spongy and beefy go special 👍🏻🎸

      @@therooster6071 Here are some differences between the two combo versions:
      1.Speaker Size: The Lonestar Combo has a 12-inch speaker, while the Lonestar Special Combo has a 1x12 or 2x12 configuration.
      2.Weight: The Lonestar Combo weighs 80 pounds, while the Lonestar Special Combo weighs 50 pounds or 57 pounds.
      3.Power Output: The Lonestar Combo has a power output of 100 watts, while the Lonestar Special Combo has a power output of 30 watts or 50 watts.
      4.Tubes: The Lonestar Combo uses 6L6 power tubes, while the Lonestar Special Combo uses EL84 tubes.
      5.Channels: The Lonestar Combo has three channels, while the Lonestar Special Combo has two channels.
      6.EQ: The Lonestar Combo has a 5-band graphic EQ, while the Lonestar Special Combo has a simpler 3-band EQ.
      Overall, the differences between the combo versions of the Lonestar and Lonestar Special are similar to the differences between the head versions. The Lonestar Combo is a more powerful and versatile amp with more channels and a more complex EQ, while the Lonestar Special Combo is a more compact and lightweight amp with a simpler design and a lower power output.

      Thanks a lot. Subbed with the bell so will look up as soon as you post it. Do you have a stock speaker in it. It seriously sound better than I expected. I used to have Orange AD30TC on EL84s and I hated that thing. It was getting dirty even if I looked at it funny. Cured me from EL84s for years. I'm a big Boogie fan, though. I tried this amp in the shop. I found that the Mesa Fillmore 50 and 100 were a lot more easy to get a nice clean tone from. They basically sounded better for cleans. The lone star special kind of has a nasal mids characteristic

      The Fillmore is a weird amp. Some people get it sounding great and some people make it sound like crap. It’s not really complicated but it’s hard to dial in I think. Sounds throaty like a Santana kind of mid range thing going on. Like PRS hum bucket sound. This lonestar has a nicer fendery sparkle to it in my opinion.

    The output control is not an attenuator - it is another master, but a global one. Sounds fine, but exactly the same as turning the channel masters up or down. Very practical though, with the global function.

    • @J1JL
      @J1JL  3 місяці тому

      Isn’t the output after the power tubes?

    • @matskihlberg4762
      @matskihlberg4762 3 місяці тому

      No, it is in the loop, just as the solo volume. If you disengage the loop on the back, neither the output nor the solo volume will work.

  • @dash4786
    @dash4786 Рік тому

    A couple questions can explain to me the output and solo knobs? What they actually do? I know it says attenuator but how do you use them? Also the send level in the back what is that for? Finally can you change the tubes for 6v6m

    • @J1JL
      @J1JL  Рік тому

      Output is after the power amp. Master is before power amp and after pre amp. Gain is before pre amp. Solo is extra output volume, like turning the output knob up. Send level is effects loop volume, for like long cable run in the effect loop to drive the signal. Output, solo and send only works when loop is engaged not bypassed. Not possible to change to different style tubes. EL84 only
