PARENTAL ADVISORY
This is NOT a review!
I always missed some raw and straight footage where I could hear the real thing from a musician’s point of view. That’s why I created this channel. I also want to have some fun doing this because life is too short.
Call this my guilty pleasure at the same time that I hope you can find some use for my content.
Thanks for watching me. Please like, comment, share and subscribe. I would love to see you again anytime soon!
Great playing, great tone, and most especially great idea for a channel. Keep it up!
Thank you very much.
Sounds beautiful
You make this amp sound great! Excellent guitar playing. I just purchased one on Reverb and this was very helpful. Thank you!
Thank you, I hope you are having fun with your LSS!
What a great idea for a channel 👏🏻👏🏻
Backed up by some superb playing!!
Thank you!!
Hell yes. I own this amp. Stands the test of time.
Very nice!
Great playing, great tone (I love this amp, I have a LSS too !!!) and good idea for the Boogie plate instead of the Mesa stock 👍🏼
Thank you very much!
@@povguitarla did you have to modify it? Did you do it yourself or professionally? Would be difficult to chip away at the wood
Best amp ever!!!!
Sounds good! Always wanted to try out one of these amps. Love that you can change wattage separately on each channel. How much clean headroom does Channel 1 have in 30watt mode?
They are really nice. Not a lot of clean headroom but I'd say you can get a wider range of clean than on a vox ac30 for example. If you need clean go for the Lonestar "classic". Thanks for watching!
You should keep up ur work! I love POV guitar videos!
Thanks! More videos soon. Unfortunately my GoPro got stolen.
@@povguitarla I hate theif! Im sorry to hear that. But you should keep up the good work! It's really unique and great video, I can't really find many video like this for playing guitar!
We need more of these videos! Especially on the Lonestar :) should be 30mins! Awesome work, are you bypassing the overall volume? It’s very low if not zero. Making me GAS bad
Thank you. With this amp, when you switch off the fx loop the master volume and solo control are also disengaged. I feel that way the tone is more "pure", however I'm not a purist lol, it just sounds better IMO.
Killer playing and smooth tones!! I just nabbed one of these, may I ask how exactly you got the boogie badge to fit so neatly on there?
I got it like that. Thanks for watching.
GREAT TONE!Love to hear if you could get that great Tone in the 15 watt and 30 watt settings!
I know older video
But wth
Cheers!
The built-in attenuation does not affect the tone (significantly to my ears, at least). Thanks for watching.
HOW have I missed this amp...?
Does this amp have a good bass response? I often find mesa's and Boogie's to be neutered in the low end.
The Lonestar Special has a little more "loose" low end that the often called "Lonestar Classic" but it still pretty responsive and bold. Actually In my opinion it has the best low end I've ever found in a class A amp. Check the video with good speakers or good headphones. Notice that I'm not doing a review and trying to explore all the tones you can get, rather than that I'm just having fun with some good basic tones but the palette of (different and great) tones with any MESA amp is almost infinite. Thanks for your comment!
@@povguitarla Thanks. It was a great demo, and did listen thru a speaker. I was surprised at how it good it sounded. I think the rectifier tube with el84's is a big part of the tone. I just wondered from you being with the amp what your perception of bass was. The much for your reply😊
You heard way wrong Mesa’s have a lot of bass. Most people cut the bass down because Mesa has so much bass to offer.
Cool! i see that the output of the amp is 0. Do you run the amp hard bypass?
Yes. For that video the amp had the fx loop bypassed and power section was running in 5w mode as well.
@@theworldsfunniestonline Nice, I have the classic in head format. The amp is a modern classic!
What’s the difference between the special and regular?
The Special has EL84 Power tubes and it's a 30/15/5W Class A amp in the same vein as the Vox AC30 and Matcheless. The Lonestar "Regular" it's a 100/50/10W Amp and it has 6L6 Power tubes working in Class AB (or Class A in the 10W mode). Also the Lonestar "Regular" has a Bias switch in the back if you want to work with EL34 Power tubes and get a more British flavor. They both share the same preamp design and control panel, the only difference is the Power section and it does make a big difference. I'm gonna upload some more videos with both Lonestar Special and Classic soon. (My GoPro got stolen).
Great, question, where you've had your camera, is it Gopro? .. nice pants))
Thanks. GoPro with a mouthpiece.
You should do same thing using a Gibson
Is it goog for bedroom?
The Lonestar Special has a switch where you can choose 30W, 15W or 5W. Even in the 5W mode it can still be very loud but the Master volume allows you to get a comfortable bedroom volume while maintaining the tone. Hope it helps.
I have the Classic and it has 100w/50w/10w option and in 10w mode is THE perfect late night amp for practice! Very smooth taper in output volume...
