I really like the white eyeliner technique! Many of my family members are really good at freestyling henna and I always thought it was too hard so I never really tried

traditionally, mehndi was for brides (elaborate decorations) and grooms (a token nod). today mehndi is done for the same reason we use make up and hair dye - it looks beautiful.
How do you hold a henna cone properly ? Like is it supposed to make your thumb hurt lol >.< cause every time I apply henna my thumb starts to hurt a lot !!!! I've seen a lot of diff people like u hold it differently so can you like tell me how to hold it lolol (sorry if I sound dumb)
my mom used to colour her hair with black henna.. first you have to make sure it's good quality. then boil water with green or black tea and let it boil few minutes. let it cool a little bit and add henna (it'll turn green don't freak out lol) when it's cold put it all over your hair and out a plastic bag or cap on for 20 to 40 minutes.. then wash it off with shampoo and enjoy beautiful and healthy hair :)
I'm Vietnamese and I want to know if it's ok for me to try henna I don't want to come off offensive and I heard some people weren't really sure if it was ok or not. Thank you.
Im a white girl, but if people get offended by this they're being ridiculous. No form of art should be exclusive to one race, nor should other races be excluded. Doing henna is a way of learning about and partaking in other cultures.
Amanda Lu It's important to understand the cultural significance of henna if you're going to wear it. Applying henna is done in various Asian and African cultures for special occasions such as Eid and weddings. Applying henna solely for its aesthetic appeal takes away from its cultural significance and some people find it insensitive. If you're invited to a special event where henna is traditionally worn, then have at it. Participating in other cultures is often welcome. Stripping it of its meaning is not. I hope that helps. :)
Ashley Cinnamon As a white person, you are in no position to tell people of color what parts of their cultures they are allowed to hold precious. Whether or not someone from a culture that does not use henna can use it is a conversation that deserves to be discussed within those communities. You enjoying henna's appeal is fine. However, disregarding it's cultural significance because it's art and you think it's pretty is why people of color are so often irritated with white people such as yourself. To call them ridiculous just illustrates your ignorance. Please continue to educate yourself.
Na'ilah El-Amin Calm down please. What's wrong with wearing henna? Some people take their culture too seriously..... And before you start rattling on, I'm Arab.
Well I've been doing a lot of research on Cultural Appropriation and Henna is very inclusive, anyone can do it and I think that's a really beautiful way to share cultures. It's the same with head scarfs, it's not exclusive to Muslim women, to be honest, I never got why some people are so exclusive about certain things in cultures. It's different if you're wearing a native American headdress at a music festival or something because they are an important part of native American culture and it's being used as a fashion accessory, but someone getting cornrows to me isn't offensive, but of course I'm going to respect their wishes as it is their culture. But I think the main rule is to be respectful and understand what it means to the culture :).
it is dried leaves just like tea leaves, when you add particular natural or chemical things to it it gives color to the hand, and you can use it for your hair.
I've been using this method for ever :D I'm always afraid of messing up the design so I always draw it out with a eyeliner first before I apply the henna :)
its probably someone else's hand bc of the position she is plus there is different types of henna and you don't need to worry I sure she know her skin perfectly well ;)

I use black henna but it's not henna! It's actually Jagua! So it looks more like a tattoo than the brown orange color! So that's a tip I have for those who want a darker color! 😊 I personally love Jagua so much more than Henna!
Good video, but not very useful. For someone who is a beginner, they're going to be looking for stuff about how to hold and use henna. This is more for after that, when you start using it. :P
This is gorgeous! I was just wondering, do you have to use white eyeliner for the outline or can it be any colour? probably a daft question but i'm supposed to be doing henna tomorrow on myself and im going to get a couple things in town, so i wanted to know if i should get white eyeliner pencil :)
I'm sick of warning people not to go near that nasty unnatural dark henna stuff! I use hennas for myself and my family, free hand. How does it manage to stain the skin if there is white eye liner underneath it? I didn't think that would work. Btw I love your design!
It's kind of like being allergic to latex or latex-free gloves that people who are allergic to latex use there are types of Hannah that people are not allergic to. Most people who are lactose intolerant are okay if they eat goat cheese because of cow's milk and goats milk is very different and it's the lactose in cow's milk that most people who are lactose intolerant are intolerant to.....
Don't forget to rub some oil-any kind-over the design as SOON as you wash the henna off-it'll intensify the color and make the design last longer but you need to do it as soon as you wash off the henna!
and also if u want hina to give more color then after the hina is dried out, put a thin plastic shoper on it and tie it lightly around ur wrists so tht the air stops comming in and ur hand can sweat easily becoz of heat and make tht hina wet again and so give u more and more color till u r wearing it, i wear it overnight usually and the results are always darkest hina color always. like black(with good quality hina) or deep brown(if the hina is'nt tht good quality).
Aaaawww bless You Sister Thank You, this video is most helpful I will subscribe, I sometimes get water bumps, but mostly when I use oily stuff after it stains to keep it dark, but having trouble to draw n want to do bridal or party henna for family and friends ❤

I am an Mehndi artist so i know a bit ;) You are not allergic to henna (pure) but to the tubes. The ready made tubes have all sorts of things in it and it's not sure what, because it doesn't say on the Pack. But it can contain lamp oil or other oils that aren't good for the skin. I would advise you to try pure henna . Either the powder and then mix it your self or buy some online . You are from US and there are lot of brands there . Henna caravan, ash kumar ect ect who sell pure henna mixed
I LOVE henna smell! If like to see more designs search in Arabic by this word " نقش حنه " and also I like to keep it more time so it comes darker, we keep it 12 hours like whole night :D
you are a woman of many talents! awesome video. I love henna and I have been practicing. I love the idea of tracing with a white eyeliner. I will try that next time.
The allergic reaction is likely not to the henna plant, but to the chemicals used to enhance the colour. Look up BLACK HENNA, and PPD. If you want to use henna without a risk of reaction, buy fresh super sifted henna powder, and mix with lemon juice, cajeput or lavender essential (these essential oils are a safe alternative to the chemicals which do a wonderful job at brigning out colour) if you dont have the courage to make your own paste, buy henna cones mixed with all natural ingredients.
as long as i know pure henna does not give any allergic reaction but the essential oil and chemical used to make henna paste can give you allergic reaction. in that case use only pure henna powder and mix it with water and add either little lemon juice or eucalyptus oil by the way nice tutorial

You are so good in all that you`re doing!! congrats!
im totally going out and buying henna this weekend. thank you so much for this!!
it is easy! try it out!
you are a woman of many talents! awesome video. I love henna and I have been practicing. I love the idea of tracing with a white eyeliner. I will try that next time.
Depends on what henna you use tbh, but the longest mine has lasted is 3 weeks... it tends to fade when you wash your hands a lot
wow thanks farahdhukai!!! i saw the henna being done at a festiva i think renaissance and my sister wanted to try it out thanks!!!! :)
it is easy!
The allergic reaction is likely not to the henna plant, but to the chemicals used to enhance the colour. Look up BLACK HENNA, and PPD. If you want to use henna without a risk of reaction, buy fresh super sifted henna powder, and mix with lemon juice, cajeput or lavender essential (these essential oils are a safe alternative to the chemicals which do a wonderful job at brigning out colour) if you dont have the courage to make your own paste, buy henna cones mixed with all natural ingredients.
plus black henna (well at least when me and my sisters wore it) it lasts less than a day!
