She's pronouncing it the way it's supposed to pronounced.
Also, she has an accent. Pipe it down people, she actually knows what she's taking about.
when I was 14 there were very few henna videos in english online. so I remember watching this tutorial so many times trying to learn. 10 years later I am a professional henna artist. thank you for being such a pivotal part of my journey. I always come back to rewatch from time to time just to reminisce. 10 years. that's still so crazy to me
She starts doing the henna at 3:27 if anyone wants to know
thanks!
thanks
thnx
+Jody le thanks
thanks
I don't care if it sounds like she's saying Hannah really but for those saying English isn't her first language henna is just the way to write it in English, it's made from the Arabic letters ha, nun, and aliph if I'm correct. Henna isn't English is basically my point, but I'm guessing she doesn't speak Arabic. She IS saying it "wrong" but tomato tamato.
Actually that wouldn't be aliph.. it's ta in its other form ة but it sounds like aliph when you pronounce it! Just thought of pointing that out!
It is not called Henna it is called mendih.👧👩👭
😐😯😑😕😆😅😄😃😂😁😀😊☺😢😬😜😛😝

It's Indian but yeah I bought it but I get scared to put it on as if I can't get it on properly
Minion Hope lmao it's Arabic
She made it look so easy
I Like it
Muy linda
Yes the hennah tatoo is very easy ! Sorry if you don't understand what I said...
***** She can speak whatever she wants. Speak Spanish please.
***** She said very pretty....
Watching her do that, all I can say is: AMAZING!! She made it look so easy and I know I couldn't do that with a stencil and someone helping me. Wow. Great job. Now I want another henna tattoo!
I missed half of the tutorial since I was dancing, but really cool love your tutorials
it's really magical seeing the henna come together! :)
omg everyone makes it look so easy to do these amazing designs!!!!!
It can be, if you buy the henna outliner. It's like a paper you put on your hand and trace the henna around it
Am I the only one who's thinking
" wow this looks so easy , I can do that ! It's nothing but heart shapes, some circles , and a bunch of lines." But knowing once I try it will look NOTHING like that !!
That's so pretty! And you have such a steady hand. And a lot of patience. Shall try this out!
Love it ! I'm Indian and I've heard about you soooooo many times !
Lots of luck !
The "black" henna she was referring to is called jagua (tattoo). "Legit" jagua has similar staining properties often a dark blue or black. However, unlike henna, jagua is made up of fruits(berries usually) that grow on trees. Also takes longer to dry and lasts a little less time. :)
Where did you get that tube from
I've never done henna before. I tried your design and it looks great and was so easy! Thank you so much :)
I loved your video! it was informative and you made it look so easy! Im doing mine today!
I did this on my friend's yesterday!! Thank you so much for this video. You are so pretty!! You look like a nymph! :) and the music is so cool! Can you tell me the name of it??
She makes it look so easy...it's not. I suck at creating patterns and only thing I end up making is bunches of small dots, leaves and lines, small flowers, letters and some other random swirly lines. I always try to make that shape of where it's curved...it never works! Like how do you do this?! Well, I guess it's because I use a cupi and powder one that you have to wet so maybe that's why? I once used the tube one and the henna was terrible! It ate away my skin! My skin were pulling off as the henna started fading away and the color was such a light orange color even tho I left it on for so long. American henna sucks most of the time. I usually get it from Nepal when people are coming and going during Dashain and Teej.
Sammy P Please check out my Henna video at ua-cam.com/video/Er_jbphrxHw/v-deo.html :) I did my henna on paper, you could probably use that as a start :)
I m the same way and yes ordering from Nepal is better then buying here
Artsy Corner Thanks. I checked out the video.
Sammy P Thank you! :) xx
Yeah i know its way to hard and i did itand went to school the next day and people were lookin at me like i was an idiot
I'm finished with this henna tattoo. It's beautiful (I love it) ❤ thx for this great video
My mum is a henna artist and was taught by the fastest henna artist in the world! Promise Phan
She makes it look easy, I can never make anything as nice as that
When you've already taken off the dried henna and waited a day for it to get darker, and it still is not dark what can you do to make it dark? Can you go over it again with more henna paste or is there another way to make it dark once taken the dried paste off?
add jagua from south america.
I've seen these beautiful designs on people and didn't know exactly what it was, but now that I know a little more about it, I think I might try it out someday.
Thank you for posting this. That looks great and the tips on how to are great.
I did what you did and mine looks like a poop💩
nice design
That is an easy and pretty henna! I love it!
You are an true inspiration didi. Your every video inspires me a lot. I am learning to do henna. I am a beginner and I tried doing this design. You made it look so easy.

Awesome video! I did the same on my hand- but with a normal pen. It turned out really cool! Maybe you should do more Henna tattoo videos! Love ya! :)
im watching henna videos for eid😂
same lol 😂❤
Lol I did that too
Lmao I did that to hope u had an amazing eid
if you don't mind me asking, what's eid?
+emily b Hello hope you're well, so we have two Eids : Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha. Ed al Fitr marks the end of the month of Ramadan it's like a celebration of breaking fast and
Eid Al Adha (like a celebration of the Sacrifice) celebrated on the 10th of the twenlfth month of the Islamic year which is Dhu al-Hijjah, to commemorate Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son for God and it lasts three days. i hope I help you a little bit to understand what Eid is but look it up if you want more information. Have a great day
Is it only me who thought of doing this with fine point sharpies...? Lol
i have done that... 😂 it worked
Everyday in class 😂
KawaiiKix Sharpies work but they are quite harmful depending on the amount used.Henna also lasts alot longer(about a few weeks)than sharpies without getting rinsed off when taking a shower/scrubing it off.
I've got henna on right now :) it looks awesome, I got loads for Christmas off my sister
The henna came out really good😍😍
I think I'm getting this done! :D
I got it done, yay!
How does it look
Rilakkuma.cutie111 Great. :)
I'm not religious, but I find henna to be very beautiful. However, I know that it can be inappropriate to copy certain cultural and religious traditions.
Just out interest, those who use henna within their culture/religion - do you find it to be offensive, or cultural appropriation, when people who don't belong to that religion use henna?
henna isn't exactly a religious practice because it didn't originate in one religion. it originated in north africa and the middle east as a cosmetic, but today hindu people do use it sometimes during fasting and for wedding rituals. i've heard from multiple middle eastern people that it's not offensive if you appreciate where it came from and that it's a type of art, not just a pretty fake tattoo.
Don't really know where it originated but we do use henna on a lot of religious occasions here in India and won one takes offence in people from other cultures putting henna on their :)
*no one
$-Layla_Neight-$ its not cultural appropriation if you appreciate where it comes from and you respect it...
It's not religious it's cultural and they would be more proud to see that people from all around the world appreciate something beautiful in their culture
she did a great job...keep making great and useful videos
Very nice! Planning to henna my girl's hand for the cominh Eid celebration. Definately will try it out. Thks!
روعة الحنا henna like 👍👍👍😄😄
Its henna not Hannah.
Exactly she kept on saying hanna
I use to say Hanna but not any more
Actually she is saying henna but i think its her tone or something that makes it sound like hannah
She knows that. It's her accent, English isn't her first language.
Jia Li ACCENT
It's beautiful! Omg i love it!❤️
OMG😱you are from Nepal😍😍 +promise phan
didi😆 proud😍😍
tutorial starts at 03:26
we have henna in morocco we also uses it in wedding... ect but i prefer black henna it's really beautiful but of course you should test it before if you want your henna to be clear after washing your hands take some of your fav perfume and spray it on the henna beilive you'll like the result
Actually, you shouldn't use black henna. There's a chemical in there similar to the ones in hair dye and they could cause burning and permanent scarring
Eleanor Lee the henna which she is using doesn't have chemicals
Itasha Dutt I don't mean the one promise is using, I mean that Issrae Gold likes black henna and that it's bad
thank you for the advice :)
Sarah Fareed no I just put it now
shes really good at it and its looks really easy but really pretty and detailed. i always do henna and i make it
Can you please do more henna tutorials like this? It's so beautiful!!!!
The way u say hena. "hanah" lol
Omg be thankful that she posted a tutorial instead picking on the things that don't matter
OooooHhhhhh i'm sooo thankful she uploaded this video. there is no info about "hennah" on the web and there is defiantly no other youtube videos about this matter. and i'm so thankful she gets paid cuz people like me watches her videos. So so so so thankful

I'm from Bangladesh, and we call it Mehedi, or Mehendi as some people would say.. I had to mute the whole video though, because when she said HANNA, I completely lost it and started laughing like crazy!
It's her accent she's from Nepal
I'm from India and same. I call it Mehendi

Misha henna tube
Can a person just use hair dye?
No if doesn't have the same effect or work the same
yea u can but in ur hair henna , but after this u should wait 7months to dye ur hair :)
No don't use hair dye it has a chemical that's can scar ur skin please look it up NEVER USE HAIR DYE
NO NEVER USE HAIR DYE. IT WILL SCAR UR SKIN, LOOK IT UP NEVER USE HAIR DYE!!!
PLEASE DON'T use hair dye, it is toxic and can scar you or affect your liver and you can get really sick. LOOK UP PPD and Black Henna... NEVER USE BLACK HENNA...
you are a talented makeup and design artist.....you have a special talent . I tried but didn't work but thankyou for make this video
wow you are the best ... and i can do henna by my self we have this in our culture :)
hEnna... not hAnna ..
She is from Nepal, we are probably pronouncing it wrong since henna wasn't from or region
lol thank you so much! She made it sound like a girls name,Hannah. but us Indians don't say Hennah, we say Mehndi.
I think it's just her accent
its her accent.
in arabic you say HANNA
Is it ok for people from other cultures to use it? Like is it disrespectful or anything?
No, its not, and its a pretty thing when you get it done, but its more beautiful when you do it yourself, because its your effort... Dont worry about it being disrespectful, its actually a great conversation starter, and makes any Indian person who sees you proud!
No, henna is for everyone!
+ally Haskell ofcourse NOT
To Me , I'm Mixed With Indian , So I Really Don't Think Its Disrespectful .
ally Haskell of course not
I did it with a sharpie to practice.. it came out sooo good. I love this design

Sahida
She is Nepali
It looks amazing and I love your Channel and different looks
drawing henna like designs is my favorite way of doodling. maybe i should give this a go!
idk why some Indians got butthurts ..come on guys, u should be happy that other people actually love yr culture and wanna try it out
***** ikr ..we here in malaysia call it as 'inai' and we mosly use it for wedding huhu
I usually apply them on during school semester breaks...love the intricate designs!!!!
That's cultural appropriation.... Not "loving your culture"....
Tree Take down are u aware that henna not only done it India bcoz they are a lot of countries with henna tree and they do wears henna.. ?
+Tree Take down Cultural appropriation is taking an element of someone's culture and claiming it as your own. Not liking it and trying it for yourself.
Its tradisional in my country 😊😊😊
Sorry, traditional ;). I'am from morocco
*****

You can get hennas at any age, they are not permanent, they last like a week
even if 6 or 5months or 1 years old lol

henna is arabic not indian but it is most used in india so..
Well it is wrong
It dates back to centuries old for both cultures
+Habiba Tariq it was used by India middle East and sri Lanka its not from just one place..... but whoever someone mentions henna people automatically think its from India because it's more used there
ok thx
true mehendi/henna is a ancient tradition in India (and other south asian countries), egypt
Omg I'm from Bangladesh and we call it mehndi too

Oh my gosh, I did most of this design (I added my own twists) and I love it! I didnt have realy henna :( BUT I did use this method withliquid eyeliner, baby powder, and liquid bandage. :D
-Kiden
Wow, absolutely beautiful.
Your saying it like Hannah it's called henna
It's her accent.
okay this is great but you're pronouncing it wrong...
She's probably pronouncing it in the way her language does or in a westernized way
Remi Colwill shes not pronouncing it wrong it sounds different because she has a accent
Ur makeup is awesome tbh💯
would i need to put the sugar and lemon on the henna design before i get the crumbled stuff off?
I'm left handed-
This is gonna be hard-
haha same!!
Just draw it on your right hand xD lol
Bethany Francia lol no left handed people usually right with the side of their hand resting on the paper, they can't write at an angle so they were saying that doing henna will be ahrd cause it'll smear when they mkve their hand over! Lol, thats why they always have ink or pencil marks on the side of their hand cause it rubs against the paper
I know but if they hold their hand a certain way it won't smear. My sister is left handed and she barely gets stuff on her hand lol
You think she would know how to pronounce it considering she's from Nepal...
Maybe she doesn't how to pronounce it in english
henna isn't an english word...
In Nepali, it's called Mehendi or Mendi, not Henna. Well even in Hindi it's Mehndi. Henna is what Muslim people call it and foreigners.
Well most people know it as Henna if you are not familiar with the "proper name"...don't be an ass! Most Asians I have been around called it Henna as well and they are all Pakistani or Indians...
Gille87 Are you talking to me?
This is my favourite henna tutorial!
hi. m also a Nepali. lots of love for Nepal and Nepalese, liked your video

Wow , I am from Nepal too. You are doing so good ,Oh gosh !
Much love #fromNepal.
Its henna not hanna that was bothering me the whole video like girl
Ikr it annoyed me too
She Said it properly it's just her accent
she's frm the u.s.. so its obvious its her accent
+sushila gurung she's from Nepal , she should know how to say it properly , at least she said Mehndi correct. Lol but honestly I think she knows how to say it she's just dumbing it down for English speakers
She dosnt have to pronounce it perfect thats rude
You are the best at this
Question????? I live in Canada where is the best place for me to order the beat henna?
Here in germany you can buy *pure* henna-pulver for your hair. It ist not mixed with any other substances. Can I use it for tatoos or not?
Awesome video promis!!!!!
