- Is it possible to make a Boxing Cobra bag using a fibreglass fishing pole? You'll be surprised by this prototype! I'm using a 2-piece fishing rod similar to this one on Amazon USA: amzn.to/3Ahmu50.

Absolutely love this! Please do keep going with the DIY version of this! - Those targets look like they slip down a little bit. What do you think about doubling up the thickness of the pool noodle top so it's a bigger target all-round? - Also, do you feel the need to slip when the bag hits back, or doesn't it get close enough? Thanks for all your amazing work, will be putting some of your genius ideas to the test someday!
Thank you. Yes more prototypes of this to come. Friend of mine makes fibreglass poles so next I will refine the design and see if I can come up with a kit that will already have the foam sections on the poles. 🤙

Would you say the fishing pole cobra bag doesn't need to be hit as hard to get it moving as the power twister one? To me, it looks like the power-twister one needs to be hit a lot harder. I'm looking for something that can take quite light blows, a bit like a double end bag. From you video, the fishing pole looks like it can take lighter punches and still move. Thoughts?

Yes fibreglass can be made with either light targets using a thinner rod or heavier targets using a thicker one. Your choice depending on the rod you use. My Boxing Cobra kit will be about mid range. Demo of it is in this video:ua-cam.com/video/qxpufPbBjFw/v-deo.html. More to come on that 🤙

My question is are you still considering the fiberglass kit? I made an awesome one with a fishing pole but I'm still excited at getting that kit as well for my outside garage gym. I like variety. And I'd like a fiberglass pole without the metal fishing holes the fishing wire goes through. I'm just curious if your boy came through and if you are still considering that kit as an option. Thanks

Yesterday I made a setup with just a stainless steel (but flexible) fishing pole and small foam ball from k-kmart - and a 25kg granite umbrella holder and some duct tape from bunnings. Total was $100. Works surprisingly well - has the speed I was looking for. Dude... you should definitely get a kit like this up and running

Hey Reedy, have you ever done more with making kits for these? I was thinking of buying the title shot sports reflex stick and one of these would be a good alternative.
I’m expecting the top section components to be ready in about a month. The rest about a month after that

bottom is around 20mm and top around 10mm

Did you clip off the eyelets where the pool noodle is?
Yes but not fully to allow the remaining thorns dig into the pool noodle and hold it in place and stop it from sliding up and down

Should be fast but will depend on the stiffness of the rod

Tuck that chin and try not to square up so much also dnt be scared of getting hit just keep ur chin down . Ur squaring up too much wen bob n weaving between the line of fire . I suggest fixing your stance and use angles rather than fast head movements. Its not ur natural strength and ur forming bad habits or techniques that will show if tested. You perform how you practice.

It's a Javis Walker brand, but I think just about any fibreglass rod should work. It just needs to be about a foot taller than you.
