    helpful video !!!! I was unsure if I was able to use my 3S 2200 mAh LiPo to test my servos with , because the tester states 4.0v - 6.0v range.....but if I understand correctly , as long as I connect the higher voltage LiPo battery through the ESC, ( and connect the signal wire to the OUTPUT side only ) it's OK...correct?....thanks

      Yes you can connect up to 6S battery. To the esc.

    What about an Opto ESC that has no BEC inside, at 2:15 tha t cable has only 2 wires instead of 3.

    • @robojax
      @robojax  6 років тому +1

      Yes I should I have given example of that. you will need another source of 5V and connect it on the other side. I will try to create a video for that. Thank you for pointing that to me.

      Yeah this my prob - none of my esc have bec. I managed to power the esc/motor w 3s bat and used a power supply to power the tester. I had the signal from esc and 5 volts to tester all on output side of tester. No love. So you are saying hook the 5 volt to input of tester? What about the sig wire - still to the output side? Thanks man, nice clear concise video.

    • @robojax

      the white or yellow wire is the signal wire. does not matter where you bring the signal from. just connect it to your source with one wire to the ground. it will work.

      thank you for your reply. If as you say people who use the equipment illustrated in your video will know just what it is all about, I fail to see why such people would watch your video in the first place. After all even though I am not an electronics person or a RC flyer your video can hardly be considered as imparting knowledge or understanding of an advanced nature . It was my intention to use one of these bldc motors to drive a gyroscope for obvious reasons.While the equipment required is readily available, specifications are most certainly not available for some reason. All or most RC people are quite knowledgeable as far as their craft or hobby goes but that is as far as it goes.There are a large number of videos illustrating how bldc m otors may be run and controlled by the equipment used by RC people but not one single video gives definite specifications, safe operating conditions and requirements etc etc to enable someone who is not overly interested in electronics but wishes to use the equipment for quite a different purpose to proceed with that purpose.. Please give me the references to your material which would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you very much for your reply and all the very best to you, sir.

      yes and it does not matter, if you motor is 18V, you can connect 18V to the ESC and still you will get 5V for flight controller or other devices. Today I just posted demonstration of testing servo motor using this tester ua-cam.com/video/TJ3YjnsREqc/v-deo.html

    • @robojax
      @robojax  6 років тому

      the servo controller/tester is for brushless DC motor with 3 wires. your motor has 2 wires. You can use a driver module something like this ua-cam.com/video/17vqLv508Uw/v-deo.html and instead of Arduino you can use servo tester.

      the input for the mosfet is around 9V when i connected the wires to the mosfet and i test the screws holding the wires it dropped to 0.008 but the power supply i warm,
      is the mosfet damaged?

    • @robojax
      @robojax  7 років тому +2

      Your ESEhas Firmware. The beep has patterns. ONE beep, 2, 3 or more. Each has meaning. If the ESC is not armed (ready) it will not let the motor rotate. So program the ESC and then it will work.

    • @robojax
      @robojax  5 років тому +1

      The beeps are from you ECS. It seems your ESC needs programming. You can send signal if you have this ESC tester. Quickly rotate to the right and then to the left. This will send 1 signal. So this way you can send different signals to control ESC and it will work. Check your ESC brand on google and you will find how to program it.
