When I heard Chevy was dropping the Avalanche, I traded in my ‘10 Avalanche for a ‘13 Black Diamond vintage. It’s still my primary driver, and the Avalanche remains my favorite vehicle of all the vehicles I’ve owned. You said it: it my rolling Swiss Army knife. There was an Avalanche SS on eBay several months ago, it sold for $10,360. Always use OEM, AC Delco parts. You'll have problems with aftermarket junk.

    I have a pre-owned '06 Available LT and I LOVE THIS TRUCK!
When I bought it, it had been ridden hard and put away wet with over a hundred thousand miles on the odometer. It had also been wrecked.
This year after Hurricane Ida hit Louisiana, my wife and I evacuated to Covington, Georgia. Since we had only driven on trips less than 100 miles round trip, my wife was worried whether or not the truck could handle the trip.
We began packing the bed and rear seat with our most needed and treasured items and the truck was like "is that all you got?", so added more.
We got a quick oil change and lube job and were off.
The truck was begging to be driven and while on cruise control, it growled at the slightest road incline and wasn't burning a lot of fuel...
The trip home was just as flawless...
So, to answer your question " HELL YEAH, WE'D WELCOME A NEW MODEL OF THE AVALANCHE!" (You can tell by my constant questions to GM and local dealers)

HOWEVER, even being very anti new vehicle. This would probably be the only thing I'd ever buy brand new. I had a Suburban before my Avalanche's and I just disliked not being able to haul anything semi tall (like a washer or dryer) but I like trucks and got annoyed at most being short beds on the market. The Avalanche is the perfect vehicle in my opinion. It's a Suburban that can become an 8 ft bed. I bought a 75 inch tv last year and it laid in the bed flat while other people with new trucks were showing up and it wouldn't fit in their beds.

I like the idea of the Avalanche again. I'd like to see a 3500 dual rear wheel version with longer bed to tow a fifth wheel. Probably not practical but it would be cool to see a concept drawing.

I miss mine I had a Sunburst Orange 2002 2500 with the 8.1 litre 496 big block. That thing would tow a tank up hill in reverse. And it rode like a dream. Besides regular maintenance only change the fuel pump once. Had it until 2018 when a box truck backed into the front end and totaled it.

I love the versatility of the Avalanche, i have the 2010 with the 5.3 and still rockin. Use it for everything, work and play. I do recommend snow tires in the winter but better grip of the road but its not really needed. Just wish they could change the bed covers to a foldable 1 cover or detachedable 1 cover but still a great truck and with the flex fuel system, even better. Its all the around trucl/suv ever made in my opinion so yea id buy the new one in a heart beat. GM really knew what they were doing when they built this 💪💪

I sold GM's from 1992 to 2017. I loved the Avalanche when it came out. I have a 2009 Avalanche now. I would by one if they brought it out, BUT I would really like to see a pick up suspension, not an SUV suspension, under it. I think trailer tow limitation was part of its downfall.

I own and love a 2004 71. At 135,000 miles it runs like new. Upgraded drilled / slotted Power Stop brakes and upgraded shocks made a big improvement. I would definitely consider it. Na Chrome guy so the black out grill and Amish bumpers don't tie a bow for me. I would replace the heavy removable bed covers with a fold and stow or electric roll up.. something unique .. some more tie down in the bed would be nice . Throw an inverter in for 110 power in the bed somewhere and USB ports interior and bed .. ala most new cars. Obviously all the standard crap like back up camera and camera control to aim and zoom for easy trailer hook up and look around. This is NOT a farm truck so let's not treat it like one ... But.... It has got to pull a load.. more than the 2013. Though drive train, over size rad, plus trans, oil, power steering coolers as well. driver adjustment for air bag leveling.. make it camper trailer/ boat friendly... Side view mirrors mounted on slide out pistons so you can see around your load but retract for daily use. Those rental mirrors suck and scratch up the paint... Let's face it. This could be revolutionary luxury puller. Strong, powerful, good lookin'. Keep it under 60 k and Chevy will sell a million of them.

I just had to scrap my 2002 North Face Edition that I bought new. It was definitely the best truck I ever owned. It was still running perfectly but the frame was rusted so badly it was no longer safe to drive. The road salt here in New England turned the frame into Swiss cheese. I am one of the few that liked the plastic cladding. Shortly after I bought it new , I was at the supermarket on a very windy day. A shopping cart pushed by the wind slammed hard into the left rear door. It just bounced off and barely left a mark. Also, the front seats in the 02 model were wide and comfortable. The newer model seats were narrow due to widening the center console. Never understood the need for a wider center console. I would definitely consider buying a new one if they brought it back.

I had the 2002 Avalanche North Face Edition when they came out. It was ack with dark grey leather and the a medium grey for the body cladding. The sides didnt fade but the bed covers did but when you pressure washed it, it would take the chalk look off of it. I LOVED that truck. I put 189,000 miles in it before I traded it in. Had it for almost 13 years. It was the best vehicle ive ever had. I still miss it to this day. Its still driving around and I see it from time to time. If I had a lot of money id buy it back and restore it. The thing rode like a caddy! Id buy the new one!

I absolutely would buy one, but I'm keeping my 2002, it's in the first 45K ever made, with an attractive 'Roo-Gaurd' in a rounded-off 'bow-tie' shape.
I love the 'cladding', there's 'treatments that make it look new and its lighter than metal, protects better against 'door dings!
In the design above, bringing the bumper-step back is aces, removing it just made an Avalanche back into an old 'Gentleman Jim' GMC wanna-be pickup.
I use that step much more often than the mid-gate bed expander. Only drawback is 'can't drop the tailgate down out of the way'
Maybe the new fancy tailgate would be able to.
I might suggest that Buick develop its own version, now that they've pretty much gone to SUV-only production. (It worked for Cadillac, eh?)
They could modify the styling to be reminiscent of the original Riviera, greatest Buick ever, giving it a range extending hybrid power plant and all-wheel drive that could improve on the 'rubber-meets-the-road' specs of conventional 4WD. Maybe that would be a better idea for an updated 'El Camino'?

I must admit, the look took a while, to grow on me, but my wife liked the Avalanche from day one, and when the new, final edition came out, she loved it. Their are a few in our area, that still look great, and still catch her attention...as a matter of fact, she commented just recently, that she would want one, if they ever came back on the market. As for desired power, she has a real love for the 6.2 V-8, with the dealer installed Borla exhaust, in my Silverado LTZ, so I’m pretty sure that is a no brainer 👍 an Avalanche LTZ SS, with the 6.2,
with some really nice, chrome 18” rims, to put some meat on the ground, and a nicer ride at the same time.

I just purchased a white 2010 Avalanche LTZ last week. 128,000 miles, was used as a commercial vehicle, so it was well maintained, has all the toys, and the body is almost immaculate, for $14k. Of course, there were a few flaws that come with age, like the built in cargo boxes don't shut right, one of them the key doesn't fit in right to lock, while the other the lock looks like someone jammed a screwdriver into it and wacked it with a hammer. The driver's side mirror doesn't fold in, but can be manually pulled in, while the passenger side still folds in when the button is pressed. The tire pressure sensors in the tires have had their batteries depleted, and the module for the heat/cooled seats probably has the one pin on a connector melted (common problem). Also, there is one slight tear in the drivers seat. I also believe the EVAP system needs servicing. Other than that, everything is near mint, and is expected for a vehicle that is over 13 years old.
While I've only had it for a week and barely put 100 miles on it, I absolutely love it! It rides nice and smooth, it can carry my family with comfort and ease, while at the same time I can haul firewood or groceries with no problems. I've already done some tweaks to make it better, like putting in LED lights in the cabin, puddle lights, and license plate lights, Weatherguard floor mats, new wireless headphones and remote for the entertainment in the back seat, and a few other things. We used to have suburbans and a Trailblazer, but they limited what we could haul because of the roof. With the Avalanche, we can haul things we couldn't before, things that are too tall or too long for the other vehicles. So I hope they do bring back a new generation of Avalanche, improving on some of the weak points of the old, like it's common problems, and make it so much better!
I wouldn't be so excited for an EV version though. I don't think it would be all that good since it would dramatically increase the price, be hell to upgrade or work on, and with our cold Michigan winters, the battery life and power would suffer. V8 or nothing, and 4x4 all the way!

I don't miss all the trim level goodies in the LT and also like the 6 speed in the custom. I'd be tempted to get one, but I think I'd want to see them go a little different route with it than your buddy's mockup.
If going to do any kind of plastic cladding personally I'd scrap that and go with spray on bedliner material, but that's just me. Since going with a Suburban style for the mockup I'd go ahead and extend the cab a little into the rear plastic sports bar area similar to Ram's Mega Cab and give us the ability to slide the rear seats forward/backward and recline, in addition to obviously fold down for storage behind the seat and the old fold down set to extend the bed. Keep the plastic sports bar design, but also offer same style, but with their own version of Go Rhino's Sports Bar 2.0 with the ability to deploy/retract lights or a light bar. Make it available with the 3.0 Duramax, 5.3L, and 6.2L and 10-speed transmission and good to go.
If GM makes that, I'd be all over it.
