When Valheim first hit Steam there were no build pieces for a spiral staircase and enthusiasts of the game presented work-arounds so that you could have one in your base. After a few upgrades the Devs incorporated spiral staircases, left AND right spirals, which I thought were cool. Maybe Keem will do the same. But thanks Delindsay Gaming! Nice work-around. I appreciate your content.
I remember well, I was one of the 1st players to utilize that technique to build a rounded well for my base in Valheim. I do hope the Devs open up more of their already in game 3D Assets for us to craft and place around our Bases. There's even Stone arches in the game.
I feel like the stacking issue with uneven amounts will eventually be addressed. It's a quality of life issue, and those usually get dealt with later in the production cycle. Maybe I have low standards, but I think the game is in an outstanding state, considering it's early access. So, I'm pretty sure it'll be fixed, but probably not for at least 6 months. They have bigger fish to fry at the moment.
The game is indeed outstanding. I 100%"d it today after 110 hours. First game I've got all the achievements for since I was a kid achievement hunting on the 360.
I think both looks great. The thigh one is better in small builds like house, and the loose staircase is definitly a better outside staircase or you have to build a very big house.
@delindsay - at 3:40 when you start the build. What if you didn't line up front piec of the tread on the center of your starting block. Instead make the back of it line up on center, then the back piece gets placed and the 2 of them as a WHOLE are centered on the starting block. That may alleviate the drift which causes the gap. Just a thought. I haven't tried it. Thanks for your vid. Very cool
I'm certain there is a "sweet spot" where that drift would be nullified. I just didn't find it while testing in prep for this video and the 2 "snap" point locations I did find work well for a demonstration style video.
Tried using the benches. Genius! We didn’t try benches when we were rotating. Should have been obvious. Great part about them is you can stack them on each other w no support! A lot easier! Thanks for the idea.
You're welcome and yeah, my dumb brain just couldn't wrap my head around using the Stool with a Shelf to make the spiral and Benches (double deep) ended up being the "easy button" like that Staples commercial.
@@delindsay yea doubling up is another great hack. I had a hard time stacking directly on the stair/bench below but it can be done if you want a steeper spiral. When I get my tower stairway done I’ll throw a quick video for it. The real question is…. What else can we rotate or stick together?!?!?🙂

I feel like you could place the benches so they all sit within the beam a bit, but its more equal. Maybe placing a reference block below the first set of benches so you can line it up easier before you place the beams in. It might fix the issues with aesthetics people may have with the shifting of the staircase. I'll have to try it in my playthrough, I'm getting ready to build Balthazar a new tower.

@@trimmin420Heh. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to literally break the game to force it to do what I want, only the illusion of tricking the eye to THINK I made the game do what I want.
WeMod had a decent mod to where you could edit the dragged amount, and it would STAY in those amounts despite the original limitations. Sadly, they "fixed" it. I used to be able to have 100,000 of everything in the chests. It was great when you wanted to build something big from scratch.
I'm seriously on the fence here. I WANT to play Nightingale but I also want to play Pacific Drive which comes out 2 days later. EDIT: If I do, I may end up having to make 3 videos/day just to keep up lol.
It's kinda sad we have to use furniture to build basic structures that for the most part are common place. Such a great game but held back by so much it lacks. You can rotate furniture, but not building blocks, no blue print save/load mechanic, no water, no build planner allowing you to build with holograms to plan out your build before actually building, etc... There's so much other games have already added that could easily be already in game.
@@BrandonPepper-iz6rhThen make certain to report it to the Devs. While Doors and Windows won't angle more than 90 degrees, pretty much all Furniture does at ~15 degree intervals. If it's a bug happening to you, then there may be a bigger problem underneath the hood so to speak.
You're awesome, but it's painful to watch on all of this! The developer loves building, but HE WOULDN'T want to make more items that could be used to build lots of great stairs and railings.
Videos can make money if they're over ~30 seconds. 8 minutes is the "minimum" for 1 mid roll Ad that YT places. The longer the video, the more potential money it can make but viewers also have to WATCH that length for ads to play. Totally agree. Some of us become accustomed to the flow of building from game to game. Others want it the same from game to game.

What if you centered the inner corner with the previous inner corner instead of going around a central column?
I thought about that after the video and I'd bet you could find that sweet spot that keeps the pivot vertically true.
How do you turn it just 1 when i turn things it turns 90degrees how are you doing that?
Building Blocks, Windows and Doors only turn 90 degrees. Furniture will turn about every 15 degrees or so. You hold 'R' and use Mouse scroll wheel.
