- This is an event where we provided sound support for an outdoor Easter Sunday service at a church.
We use primarily PreSonus gear featuring:
PreSonus UC Surface
PreSonus CDL12
PreSonus CDL18s
PreSonus 32R
PreSonus SW5E
PreSonus NSB Stageboxes
PreSonus AVB-D16
The folding table where I get it?
Thanks for watching! This has been our most popular piece of gear that has been asked about. Our specific one has been discontinued, but here is a similar one :
www.amazon.com/Yellow-Station-Outdoor-American-Plastics/dp/B097Q8Z9XV/ref=mp_s_a_1_19?crid=22F4P50YSGW0J&keywords=foldable+work+bench&pscroll=1&qid=1654970615&sprefix=foldable+work%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-19&wIndexMainSlot=29
When your travel time, bump in/out & sound check is 3-4 times longer than the show, you sometimes question if it was worth it - but the church folks appreciated your efforts and it made their service possible. It's also nice to have a little help at the end to get out quicker.
That's for sure...there are some unique dynamics when it comes to these types of engagements!
Learned a lot in watching this video.
Thanks for letting us know Dean!
Hey, first time subscriber and let me first compliment you both on the awesome quality of your gear and service!! I'm a local DJ in IL looking to enter the arena of live sound production, and your videos have been a Godsend of understanding how to structure and work as a live sound gig worker! Kudos to you and God bless!!!
Thanks Rufus! We are happy to have you with us!
Love the lines about the Suits and the Pants. The trouble is real; was at an event a couple of weeks ago and I had a "blow out"... Good job I was saying the night and had spare pants! :D
We typically bring extra cloths for many reasons!
I mix for church a lot! They want levels so low, it really teaches you dynamics and what "just enough" is!
Yes, church mixing builds a lot of character...it can be easier to throw faders up than it is to mix with the discipline that church mixing takes.
The sound is very impressive...great job.
Thank you very much. We try!
Sounds pretty good...awesome job. Will love to see how you EQ, comp, gate setup
Thanks for your comment..we will take that into consideration on future videos and talk about some of the typical settings that work well. In this video, we do talk about refining presets which typically gets me 90% of the way there: ua-cam.com/video/vD0SSN98nDU/v-deo.html
3:43 it's sad to hear that live music is somewhat alive and well. I love live music. I love music period! Bring back the old-school bands. I'm not sure if you know this but live music is popular in the Latino community.
Wow...good catch! We were discussing the pandemic and how it's impacted live music. Things were going pretty well for him considering. He is so versatile and in demand, he was able to pivot and stay busy, whereas a lot "bands" were sitting at home at the time.
Same here in Auckland New Zealand I love live music better than DJs
i like the singer and the sound is good-strong,....u make a CD after this to help the people to edit there one videos and need the original sound?
Cris, we learn a lot about sound and video editing right here on UA-cam....there a lot of people smarter than us with great videos!
Your performance is amazing, I want to have sound products like yours, but I really don't have the money.
Remember, Bart has been doing this for at least 25 years. Start small and build as you get more gigs!
exelent job! how much dou you charge for a service like this??
Ahhhh...a dark secret question! Just kidding, but we don't have published rates so we it just depends on the situation.
Hi sir and ma'am good sounds system i like my own like your sounds am Philippines.
Thank you! We hope you enjoy and hopefully get some tips from us!
Nice!
What is the little portable table that you're setting up at about 4 minutes into the video? Looks really handy!
It is an unsung piece of gear that we use at every gig. It's a portable workbench that we picked up years ago (more than 10) at Home Depot. I like how quick and easy it is to set up and takes almost no space.
@@thesoundcouple - Thank you!
How much does the audio kit you use in this program cost?
Ahhhh, I really don't have a specific total I can offer, but I would imagine we have upwards of $50k-$75k if I was to take an educated guess.
Quick question, What pole brand are you using?
This particular gig we used the Gator Frameworks ID series like this one found on Sweetwater:

Thanks!
Boy I hate it when they ask if you can run 3 circuits worth of equipment on only 1 circuit. Yeah cause I want the pa to go quieter every time the bass drum is hit.
I think this question at the core is a passive way to transfer the risk onto us. I don't think it's done in a malicious way, but everyone is trying to cover for themselves...and as the experts, we are supposed to know. I frequently say that no two circuits are created equal and will never accept responsibility for less than minimum requirements...but generally, don't accept any responsibility for power issues. That said, we do everything we can to ensure power is clean and safe and inform the client if there is an issue.....stay tuned as we just had a gig where we found a very serious power issue that they were able to correct!
We are always our own worst critics. Especially after a long break from doing it all the time. I had the same kinds of issues. Forgetting, not have a piece of gear, etc. on my first show back after Covid. Don’t beat yourself up, and remember you have the iPad accessibility now.
Appreciate the support! We are definitely feeling that we are out of the routine at the moment once again!
Great Videos! I am sure a lot of people have asked you this but can you please point me to the video of yours where you have listed all of your Gigs with their Model numbers? Appreciate it. Thanks.
We have most of our gear listed in our "About" section. Would be more than happy to fill you in about anything specific you have to ask about any of it that you see!
@@thesoundcouple Thank you! I am getting a Shure ULXD4Q in good condition for almost half the price. However, this receiver is a K51 Band with a 600-607Mhz frequency range. I believe in the UHF band. And I think that the transmitters (e.g., microphones) should also support that band and frequency, right? On Shure's website, I can't find anything in that band and range. Do you know of any workaround in this case? Do you think it's worth getting that receiver? Thanks.
@@vortexelectronics1065 Not trying to over simplify this response, but this page here is a launch pad to a wealth of product information and guidance (click on the more as well at the top of page) www.shure.com/en-US/support/tools/frequency-finder
@@thesoundcouple Awsome info. Thanks. It seems like the K15 600-670Mhz band is dedicated to Europe/England. So, getting a non-US-supported receiver is not a good idea because you would end up buying compatible transmitters from Europe for it to work. BTW, I am located in TX, USA. Thanks again. PS: I would certainly like to see you guys doing some amazing DMX Lightning video one day!
@Vortex Electronics- thanks for the request- we’ll add it to the list!
More cowbell in the monitors
Can't get enough!
Were the drums from the keyboard or prerecorded ?
The drummer was playing it on the device slung over his shoulder....we can't remember what it's called!
Total pros
Thank you! Appreciate that!
